They came the same day we called and made a hard experience much easier to handle. It was a bit pricey due to our pet being a larger breed but that was the whole reason we called in the first place (not having to take her in a car when she could barely walk) so it was worth the price.

Dr. Sarah is amazing. She made saying goodbye to our wonderful cat as easy as possible. She was extremely compassionate to Myron ( our kitty) and to us. She really cared about us. She is very skilled. Myron did not feel a thing. This was the best thing we could have done for him. Dr. Sarah also made the cremation process very simple. She was such a blessing and we are so thankful for her! My husband and I HIGHLY recommend 'Last Kiss at Home' to anyone with elder pets who need care or a peaceful end of life. She will care for your fur baby and for you with dignity, respect and compassion.

I recommend Dr. Sarah. I wish I could have known her earlier, and I wish my cat could have a chance to let Dr. Sarah take care of him before he passed away. Too bad that the first time I met Dr. Sarah is the time I had to say goodbye to my cat. I read a lot of good reviews on Dr. Sarah, and now I know why. I really appreciate that she offers the in-home euthanasia service, especially during the pandemic when any kind of in-home services have been difficult. I made an appointment with Dr. Sarah via phone and text message. She was responsive and very accommodating. I had to change the appointment from Friday evening to Thursday Thursday (one evening earlier) in a short notice and she had no problem with it. (I believe Dr. Sarah is quite busy during the day at her own vet taking care of other pet patents, so being able to have a certified vet to come to our home in the evening sounds special to me.) Price-wise, I think it is reasonable. I chose the “Gold” package, which includes in-home consultation/services, cremation (with another facility) and the return of the ashes (pick up at Dr. Sarah’s clinic). It took around one week to get the ashes back. The whole process was professionally done, and I also received my pet’s cremation certificate. (This is definitely important!) Thank you, Dr. Sarah!

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would!! First of all we all know how difficult it is to say goodbye to a pet. They are your family, a part of you.. when it’s that time you hope you are lucky enough to be able to have a last goodbye and plan for it. Some people are not that lucky.. well imagine preparing for your goodbye, scheduling your goodbye and getting ready for this difficult moment only to wait around for it not to happen. Yep! We planned for home euthanasia for our loved one who stopped eating and is suffering only for this “doctor”‘ to tell us she lost her phone and wasn’t going to be able to make it to the appointment. She had too long of a drive ahead of her and it was just to inconvenient for her to make the stop she had already committed to. So here we are left saying goodbye, crying with our entire family not to mention our children only to have to tell them.. oops never mind we have to postpone because it’s too inconvenient. HORRIBLE. I don’t understand all of the good reviews because someone who cares wouldn’t do this to a family. This is cruel and extremely unprofessional. Oh but she can reschedule for tomorrow.

PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE. incredibly unprofessional and completely unorganized. we had our appointment scheduled for TWO WEEKS. the entire family had been grieving and processing, preparing for the day to come. while scheduling the appointment (for 6pm) she said she will call 30 mins prior to arrival. no call, but we were hopeful she would show. once 6pm came around, no show. called her around 6:10pm and she said she forgot about our scheduled appointment because she lost her phone and had to get a new one, so she lost all of her scheduled appointments, contacts, numbers, etc. i’m more than positive a business owner does not only use A PHONE to keep all of their information, for this exact reason. the family was already if-y about this business since all they asked was why we want to euthanize our pet and our home address. did not bother to explain anything else. PLEASE please please save yourself the stress.

Horrible service, lack of compassion. We scheduled the home euthanasia 2 weeks ago, because our beloved family dog has cancer that spread and has stopped eating/drinking. We had a final BBQ for him Sunday, preparing to say our goodbyes- Monday at 6pm. We've been dreading this day. We gathered our families up (spouses/children) and went to the house preparing for this heart wrenching moment. We were all sad, hurt and anxious. Our doggo even felt anxious- 6pm comes around and no one shows up. Finally we call and the woman informs us that she won't be able to make it because she was driving far and lost her contacts/appointments why as a business, is there no backup plan? She had no compassion and treated it like, no big deal just reschedule. Put yourself in our shoes for a minute! We begged her to come that night but she refused. We hate seeing our dog suffer. Finally we got in touch with lap of love- omg the difference. They asked us for the name of each person that would be present for the doctor to have a personal touch, they asked the dogs medical history- why we wanted to choose this route- it was a whole 20 minute call. Very comforting and if you have to take this route- highly recommend Lap of Love.

We had a scheduled appointment for a home euthanasia yesterday since 2 weeks ago. Our entire family gathered at our home mentally prepared to say our final goodbyes to our beloved Kato. The appointment was scheduled for 6pm only to find out that the doctor didn’t show up because she had lost all of her scheduled appointments, contacts, numbers, etc. We were completely and utterly shocked at the fact that someone who “cares” about our pets could leave a family hanging like that. As someone who started their own business you would think that they have the RESPONSIBILITY and HEART that it takes to do the job. I hope the doctor reconsiders if whether she is even suited for such a profession as she showed nothing but patterns of disrespect, unprofessionalism and lack of empathy while speaking on the phone with us. My family and I are devastated from this experience and we hope that no other family goes through this. A “doctor” should NOT be selective of who deserves her compassion/empathy while providing service. This business is UNORGANIZED AND CARELESS, save yourself your time and look for a much more professional business.

I regret that Dr. Hadzic's services were necessary at last minute but I'm very grateful for her ability to accommodate. It's never an easy thing, especially not for veterinarians, but Dr. Hadzic is professional and kind and the exact person you need for this.

Very good experience given the sad circumstances. No one else even called us back, which says a lot about the other euthanasia services out there. She was prompt with good communication and left us time to be alone with our pet. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has the unfortunate need for these services. It's so much better than allowing your pet to die completely terrified in one of these really poor service emergency vet clinics.

We had to say goodbye to our sweet old lady and we found Last kiss at home . It was definitely worth everything and was beautiful service they provided. To have comfort that our dog was comfortable and safe at home is a fantastic feeling . They were fast but also never rushed us . Thank you so much !

Highly recommend. Dr Sara is a certified vet. Other businesses send only certified in euthanasia staff but with this business you have a vet. She was very kind, i have no regrets thanks to their professionalism and expertise.

BEWARE! My dog is 16, can barely walk, is very sick (cancer) and I called “Dr. Sarah”. She told me she refused to euthanize my dog, made me feel horrible and guilty then demanded $200 for her “services”. She didn’t even examine my pet!! But she DID see my $500 in cash just before going up to my bedroom to see my dog. She then called the POLICE on me and threatened to call anti-cruelty society! The police showed up, determined she was crazy and told her if she threatened me again, there would be issues for HER. She even had a threatening man with her who looked like he was going to hurt me. Unbelievable, horrible, mind-numbing experience. We caught her in at least 2 lies. BEWARE!!!!

I thank Dr. Sarah for going out her way to help in my time of need, and on the same day. She was late, but the inconvenience was very soon forgiven! I soon found out the reason why--this doctor has heart ❣️ and will not rush the valuable time, but will respect the time with our beloved pets. Thank you Dr. Sarah for your quick response. I can see that you care not only for the post but for the hearts of those who grieve. May The Lord continue blessing you. Sincerely: Yvonne Lopez. Patches' owner.

Our feral cat was nearing the end of her life, and getting her to a vet was not possible. We found Last Kiss at Home through our normal vet's office, and we're glad they were suggested to us. Dr. Sarah was able to get out to us the same day that we called, and talked us through everything before helping our kitty cross the rainbow bridge. It was a bit on the expensive side, truthfully, but absolutely worth every penny. Dr. Sarah and the vet tech that called to follow up with us a few days later were phenomenal. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for in-home euthanasia services.

I would like to thank Dr. Sarah for the professionalism that she and her staff demonstrated while we had to put down our Lady Madonna a week and a half ago home. Her care and attention to detail was comforting. If contemplating how your beloved dog should leave the world, please consider using Dr. Sarah so you can have the chance to be with your pup in their most comfortable space. Thank you for considering.

I almost never take the time to review things online, but I relied on the reviews when researching this business, and Dr. Sarah was so wonderful, that I am taking the time to do so. On quite short notice after a trip to the emergency vet where we learned that our 13 year old dog was out of options, Dr. Sarah came to our home to help us put him down. Anyone who’s grappling with the decision to put a pet to sleep knows it is one of the most difficult things to do. Dr. Sarah was conscientious, steady, professional, and genuinely empathetic. I can’t recommend her enough. My heart is broken and I miss my dog so much, but I could not have asked for a better way to say goodbye to him. Thank you so much Dr. Sarah.

On August 23, 2019, we had to put down our beloved Rottweiler, Blitz. He was mine and my husband’s first baby. He was goofy, gentle and the best big brother to our two little boys. He blessed us with almost 10 wonderful years but a few months ago, he started to have difficulty walking and started to have urinary issues that quickly worsened due to a neurological condition. By August, he was no longer able to walk or go to the bathroom on his own. This was not a way for him to live and with a heavy heart, we decided to put him down. We decided to at home euthanasia to make this process less stressful for Blitz and to have his last moments at home in his favorite bed. He had all his favorite food and we celebrate his 10th birthday early with a big happy birthday cookie. We use Last Kiss at Home as they provided the at home service and coordinated the transport and cremation of Blitz’s remains. We decided on a private cremation with viewing so we can have a few moments to say goodbye to Blitz and to ensure he was being cremated on his own. The vet, Dr Sarah with Last Kiss at Home was not compassionate and seemed scared at our big dog even though he was basically paralyzed but this bad dream did not end there. Last Kiss uses Family’s Pet Cremation (FPC) in Arlington Heights, IL, for their crematory services. Dr. Sarah informed us that FPC will contact us on Monday to set up an appointment for viewing and cremation. Monday came and went and we never received a call. By Tuesday, we still did not receive a call from FPC so we reached out to Dr. Sarah who ensured us someone will call us as soon as possible. On Wednesday, 8/28, I received a call from FPC who states that the they have overlooked our paperwork and they have already cremated Blitz that morning without our presence. Their exact words was that the person responsible for ensure Blitz’s private cremation with viewing was leaving on vacation that day so his mind must have been on VACATION MODE! That was FPC’s excuse. Our last moments with Blitz, our chance to say goodbye, our last chance to see our first baby was stolen from us. We were devastated and felt like Blitz died all over again. I immediately contacted Dr. Sarah of what happened. She showed some sympathy but stated that it was not her fault as she did not own the crematory. So we need to take it up with them. She was supposed to coordinate this process for us so that it would be seamless but instead it became a nightmare. We requested to speak to the owner for Family’s Pet Cremation to make sense of how something like this can happen and to make sure no one else will go through what we went through. We met with Al Anderson, the owner of Family’s Pet Cremation. The meeting did not last more than a few minutes. As we asked more questions about their protocols and how such an important moment can be overlooked, he became more irate and condescending. Al Anderson told my me and husband that if we wanted this conversation to continue then we need to “sue” him because he knows he “has more money than us” and that he “will bury us in court” then proceeded to kick us out of his facility. We were mourning a loss of a family member. The closure that we should have had was stolen from us because of FPC’s carelessness. Instead of showing us compassion and remorse, Al Anderson met us with coldness and arrogance. We did not want to file a lawsuit. We just wanted answers so that we can have closure. He proceeded to say, he just own’s the business but does not know the day-to-day inner workings of his business. My family and I are beyond devastated. We have some many unanswered questions. We have no way of knowing if the ashes we received are of our Blitz. We have no closure as it was robbed from us by FPC. They treated a mourning family like garbage and did not show any sympathy for their mistake. Please beware of this business, both Last Kiss at Home and Family’s Pet cremation as they do not care about you or your pet, but only want your money. We do not want this happening to anyone else.

Dr. Sarah is a strong person for doing this job. I know it is not easy to do what she does. She explains everything she does she reassured me my pet will not feel anything. It was a difficult decision for me but I made the right one and I’m forever grateful Dr. Sarah made the procedure painless for my baby. Thank you!

Dr Sarah Hadzic helped us when our beloved doggie Sally got very sick and we could not save her life any longer. There was a time to say goodbye. Dr Hadzic came to the northwest suburbs within 40 min since we called her. She is very nice, gentle with animals and we and our baby Sally felt very comfortable in her presense. I highly recommend her services!

Last Kiss was incredibly sensitive to our situation and was able to make it to our house within a couple hours of calling. We did not want to let our cat go but it was obvious she had reached her time. I am very thankful for LastKiss and their performance and compassion. It was a very hard thing to do, but i’m glad they were here to help us through it. Highly recommended.

We were very lucky to get in touch with Dr. Sarah. She was extremely caring, professional, and did everything she could to make this unbelievably difficult process easy. Additionally she was available within 2 hours of our call and her prices are affordable and in-keeping with the industry standard. It took a couple tries to get in touch with her because she is the only Vet at her practice but it was well worth the effort.

I found Dr. Sarah Hadzic and the program she created, Last Kiss, when we were looking for a vet that could do at-home euthanasia for our dog of 14 years and 4 months who could no longer stand, eat or drink. Our dog, Tipsy, was our baby, and it was the hardest thing we've ever had to do, but Dr. Hadzic helped to make the entire process just a little bit easier. Let me start by saying that we were actually referred to Lap of Love first by MedVet in Chicago, and we were told that they can usually accommodate short notice appointments and were 24 hours. (Wrong!) We weren't ready to say goodbye to our baby until we knew she was ready and was no longer "uncomfortable" but in pain and suffering, so we weren't able to schedule anything like this in advance. When Tipsy was having trouble breathing and could no longer stand, we knew it was time. Lap of Love didn't answer my calls when I tried calling on Saturday evening. I was also sent to a voice message that said they don't check messages. They finally responded around 9 am Sunday morning, then told us that the soonest they could get someone to us was Tuesday afternoon. That's when my husband started googling and looking at reviews online for a different vet service that could help us. Although Last Kiss didn't have a lot of reviews yet, they were all positive. When we called Last Kiss, Dr. Hadzic was very understanding and supportive, and she said she could meet us at 1:30 pm. She showed up right on time, and the first thing she did was ask about Tipsy. She really wanted to know her and hear our story of how we got here. She understood that Tipsy was not just our pet, but our baby girl. She knew how much it meant to us to be able to say goodbye to her in the comfort of her own home, instead of a sterile vet's office. She did an assessment of Tipsy's health and let us know gently that we were making the right decision because her organs were starting the shut down. She calmed my mind by letting me know we have done everything we could, and that by waiting any longer we would just be prolonging the agony our baby was already beginning to feel. When we were ready, she explained how the process would work and answered all the questions we had. She let me hold Tipsy as she administered a sedative. We waited several minutes for the sedative to start working as I held Tipsy and told her we'd be there with her the whole time. Dr. Hadzic tested to see if the sedative had fully taken effect a few times, but Tipsy was still reactive. We believe this may be a result of Tipsy's liver damage and liver mass, so the drug wasn't getting metabolized fully. After a while we administered a bit more, and this time it had appeared to be working. Then the doctor tied a tube around Tipsy's arm, and when we were ready she tried to insert the needle into her vein that would send Tipsy to sleep. However, the vein was rolling and eventually blew. So we had to do it all over again on the other arm, but that one rolled and blew too. Then we tried on the leg, and when that also didn't work, we went to the other leg. This time it worked, and I held my baby girl as she passed over the rainbow bridge. Dr. Hadzic offered us some privacy then and left the apartment for several minutes. When she returned she had a small bag that she sat on the table. When we were ready, we laid Tipsy on the bag, and the doctor zipped it up. She again expressed her heartfelt condolences, then she carefully picked up Tipsy and gently carried her to her vehicle. I went back and forth on if I should give 4 or 5 stars for Dr. Sarah, because I wish I could give 4 and 9/10 stars. The only reason I'd take off any is because when it was time to say our final goodbye to our baby, we had to do it 4 separate times since the veins kept blowing. I don't believe this was her fault though. Tipsy's health, small veins, and extra sedation made it difficult. So 5 stars for Dr. Sarah, and just a little less for ease of the overall process. I would highly recommend Last Kiss for anyone going through a similar experience.
