They took wonderful care of our pup while we were out of town.

My dog unfortunately was too anxious around a big group of dogs to be approved for day care at this time, but had such an amazing experience with the free trial day. He has never been left in someone else’s care(besides a vet) but the owner was so nice and knowledgeable, I felt completely at ease leaving him there. It’s a beautiful facility and they ensure all the dogs are super safe by introducing new ones slowly. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

Took my dog Ruben to Citizen Canine from 2018 til 2021. Could not have been happier with their services. They are very responsive and able to accommodate in a pinch. Ruben came home nice and tired every day which helped him a lot with his anxiety. They sometimes do events, like one time they brought in a caricature artist who did little sketches of the dogs.

I've used the daycare, boarding, and grooming services at Citizen Canine and I feel so comfortable leaving my pup in their hands! She is truly excited to run in the doors every morning. Jolie is so great and you can tell the staff really cares about the pups. Great price compared to other daycare services in the city as well. Nova says thank you!

When we came to Chicago, I was initially having a hard time finding a trustworthy daycare for my pup. After touring & meeting the staff at Citizen Canine, I knew I could trust them with my fur baby, and I know I totally made the right decision. My dog runs to the door when she knows where I'm dropping her off - it is such a huge relief to me to know that she clearly loves going to daycare. Cannot recommend CC enough!

My dog loves this place... They even post pics of your pet playing and tag you in it.. Staff is amazing, especially oscar who picks her up and brings her back to us exhausted...

My dog loves other dogs and this daycare is fantastic! I have also used Citizen Canine for overnights. They take great care of my precious pup. As I have moved around the city, I’ve tried different day cares and Citizen Canine is the best! I live nearby and can see all the dogs happily trying to get in the door to go play.

I thought they were good pet loving ppl until last time that I left my dog there more than I day I found owThat take accept over 40 dogs with only one or two persons to watch them in one state cannot watch them they cage them they abuse them they abandoned them even people from outside can hear how miserable some of these dogs are Keep your dogs away from this place

My boyfriend has been coming to citizen canine for awhile now and he is always happy and satisfied I can't talk him into going to any other daycare at all not even for a tour. My boyfriend also mention how much he misses an amazing employee named Bernard. He said how Bernard was so great with the dogs and with multitasking, and cleaning and keeping an eye on all the guest aka dogs and he was alone most of the time need I remind you a 100% cage less and all the dogs really liked him our pup did wish he was still there

When it comes to my dog, I will say I am the most critical! I have boarded him at a number of places, but I have never felt so comfortable as I do with Citizen Canine. My dog was a rescue and the staff understands my dog and are very knowledgeable. They take exceptional care of him. I could tell he loves it there as much as I do which makes me feel at ease when I travel. I’m so happy I found this neighborhood gem. True dog lovers for sure, would recommend them to anyone!!

I love Citizen Canine! My bulldog generally comes here for daycare. I love that they don’t require I call ahead to make a reservation for daycare. I can drop him off at my convenience. The staff is great and always greets me by name and a smile. Plus my dog can’t wait to get in, which says a lot about the staff! They are hyper vigilant about keeping up with vaccination updates and fecal testing, and I appreciate their efforts to keep all the dogs safe and healthy. I’m very happy to have found this fantastic business in the neighborhood!

First, I want to start off by saying that my pups are my life. I am nervous, skeptical, overly paranoid and cautious about who I leave my pups with. It’s so nice to finally say I found a place that I completely adore. I did a lot of research and read many reviews, for many places and followed different social media accounts before deciding on Citizen Canine. From what I saw, Citizen Canine looked like a mini vacation for them. It seemed like the staff was very involved with the pups. Of course, I asked a lot of questions when I came in for a tour and the owner Jolie was so understanding and sweet, you could tell she loves what she does. The place is so cute and smells clean when you walk in. I was very pleased with the accommodations and the outside area was awesome! The most important thing to me was that they have someone there 24/7. They updated me whenever I called and posted pictures on their Instagram which gave me a sense of peace. Thank you Citizen Canine! It’s always tough trusting anyone with your fur babies, but I’ll be back. This place gained my trust. When I picked my babies up they were sooooo happy and tuckered out from all the fun!

I was working out at xsport in downers grove today, wearing my green citizen canine shirt, when a woman approached me telling me she takes her dogs there during her trips. She commented her dogs love the atmosphere and then asked if i know Jolie. I responded that i only know of Yolanda...

I looked at several places to keep my dog when we went on vacation. Citizen canine was better than 5 stars. It was the first time ever housed our dog away from home. They took the time for all my calls when I checked in on my dog(crazy first time separation anxiety from Mom). They were friendly, the place was clean, and my dog was not kept in a cage or kennel..we will be using them always.

I am a fan of Jolie, and all the wonderful staff at Citizen Canine. They take good care of my baby really well. Our dog needed some help coming out of her shell after we got her. They were able to fit her right in, and she has now become a healthy and socialized puppy. The driver is amazing too! There is no where else I would take my dog to. Recommend them to everyone!!

I love Citizen Canine. Jolie Jasmine and Juan all truly care about each animal and it shows. They are so flexible and I have such peace of mind when my pup is there. Also it is affordable. Great option!

As always, the wonderful folks at Citizen Canine took terrific care of our dog. He's a mainstay M-F during the day, but recently he spent a week there while we were out of town. Clearly he enjoyed himself. He looked happy and healthy when we picked him up and he was happy to go back for daycare after his boarding stay. Thanks Citizen Canine.

We've been coming here for a year now and I can't imagine taking my dog anywhere else. My dog lives for daycare days! I can't even say "daycare" in my house anymore unless we are GOING to daycare. It gets her more excited than "toy" "walk" or "outside"! Jolie and the staff are amazing, kind, attentive. I tell everyone I know with a dog about Citizen Canine. When my puper comes home after a long day at daycare she goes right to sleep. They pay attention to detail small or large too. Put your mind at ease when you’re not with your 4-legged friend, because they got you covered. 100% recommend. Completely worth it!

Fantastic and caring staff and service! I’ve been coming here for almost 12 years and I’m so grateful for Jolie and all the kind and knowledgeable people that work there. I feel like they truly love their jobs and my dog. (I have never written a review for anything at all and felt that pet owners needed to know about this fantastic place). Citizen Canine is part of the reason, my now senior dog still has her spunk. We are sad to be leaving as we move to California, but we can’t thank you enough for all of the wonderful care through the years. We will miss you guys!

I love the staff and facility. It’s as cute as it looks in pictures, and they have a beautiful backyard. They care so much about your pets and it shows. The owner is always present or checking in on the business. Plus, they are very selective about approving dogs for daycare, which means your pup will be safe in their care. My dog really enjoys going there, that hasn’t happened anywhere else. Citizen Canine is the model of a heart-centered business. You can feel the positive energy when you walk in the door. They post picture updates of my baby on their Facebook page so I can see her day. I can’t say enough good things about them. We’ve referred quite a few friends and neighbors and they are all happy—when it comes to a place where Chicagoans put their pups— that’s a pretty high bar..
