Caring, knowledgeable staff and reasonable prices

I am new to the area. I’ve asked friends and family if they were happy with their vet. No one could give me a definite answer. That was troublesome, since my babies (Shi-tzu’s) are our life. Most answers were I wanted someone that was close to home. So that’s what I did, I researched vet close to home the reviews said enough. My experience with Dr. McCarthy has been ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!! The Entire staff from the 1st phone call through the meeting of the Doctor. I couldn’t be more pleased. Our babies are in LOVING hands!!

Really disappointed with the service here. Refused to let us come in with our puppy and he, according to them, was aggressive and acting out so he needed to be sedated during visits. Spent all this money on sedatives which didn’t even work for him. Was thoroughly confused by his behavior there because he is so well rounded and adjusted at home and around new people (albeit a little shy at first). Very angry at the comments made about how they assumed he was going to be aggressive in the future and he’s trending to become an aggressive dog in general. incredibly judgmental considering they only knew him from those visits. Took the pup to a new vet and literally no issues, not one. The new vet even said he had no behavioral issues she was concerned about! I feel terrible bringing my new puppy here for his initial experiences with the vet. IMO go elsewhere for care of a new puppy/any dog going through a fear period.

Not too helpful, too expensive

Good people. Clean. Very nice doctors But to much restricted. They going for store s restaurants but Here have to explain everything by phone Crazy !!!!

Went there for the first time with our first puppy together. The staff was very friendly and professional. You could tell that they took their job seriously just by how they cared for our fur ball. The questions that they asked, the answers to the questions that we asked..yeah..we were impressed. And so now it looks like we found our vet!

They are the reason my dog is still alive after an infection in her leg from a previous surgery. Also very kind and compassionate.

Over a month ago, I woke up to my pet chinchilla making a horrible noise. Anyone who has had an exotic pet knows that a good vet is difficult to find at the best of times. But she needed help and Carol Stream Animal Hopsital was literally only a few minutes away. They not only got me in the same day, they treated Norma Jeane as if she were their own pet. She ended up needing surgery a few weeks later after the initial problem was treated and Dr. Gonnering couldn't have been more helpful. She not only understood that Norma Jeane was family but that I was also concerned. My little furry one has made a complete recovery and I know it's in no small part to the wonderful staff there. From the receptionists to the techs, they all deserve a huge thank you. If I or anyone I know in the area needs a vet, I am definitely recommending Carol Stream Animal Hospital.

On Saturday morning May 15, 2021 our beloved dog Rex suddenly became gravely ill. Carol Stream animal hospital was the only veterinary clinic that made itself available to us because they offer urgent care appointments. They were wonderful with our dog and with us as we had to make a very difficult decision. Thank you, Dr. McCarthy & Olivia!

We adopted an elderly cat from the shelter in December 2020 and have loved our experience at Carol Stream Animal Hospital! Our cat had some eye issues requiring medication which was so easy to get through them. Sadly, she was later diagnosed with diabetes. We have worked VERY close with Dr. Contreras, with bi-weekly phone conversations monitoring her levels and insulin. Sadly, we made the difficult decision to put her to rest. Dr. Contreras has always been honest and supportive of what ever decision with made, providing his expertise along the way. He knew how hard it was for us to imagine bringing her in for euthanasia, and even recommended a home euthanasia company to make it easier for us. I cannot say enough about Dr. Contreras and the entire staff here. Their knowledge and true emotional support is so genuine. Our cat hated the drive to the vet, but loved the people and was so relaxed around them each time. I think that speaks volumes about their care and personalities. We will only be going here with our future pets because the trust is there and they have proved that they have exceptional care and huge hearts!

First time here and every part of the experience was excellent. They are well organized, and their staff are friendly and patient - doctor and front desk staff alike. Very refreshing to deal with such a pleasant group of professionals.

The staff was so kind to my cat and I. They are very knowledgeable, presented all of our treatment options, and made sure I understood all of the information. They were patient and also efficient. They care about the animals and their owners. I appreciate this animal hospital very much and will definitely be back. Thank you!

When our 9 year old husky hurt her paw, CSAH was able to sqeeze her in for an appointment. Our vet of 30 years was not going to be able to see her until the following week!! That wasn't going to work!! I read reviews and decided on CSAH. Everyone was very nice. Dr. McCarthy called twice during the next two weeks to check on her! I would highly recommend them!

We have been going to Carol Stream Animal Hospital for over 20 years with a wide variety of pets.....this hospital is awesome! They really care about their patients always giving the best possible care and attention to each one. I just love this animal hospital!

They are great, Dr. Contreras, and Dr. McCarthy are great with the animals and take great care of the. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

I love CSAH. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr.Contreras really cares about his animal patients as if they were his own pets. My dog is always so excited to go and say hello to all of the friendly staff there. This is the best animal hospital in all of Dupage County.

They kept giving me false Hope's on my car. Ended up spending 800 on a car that according to the emergency after hours vet should have been put down there was no helping him.

The staff and service at Carol Stream Animal Hospital is the BEST! They go above and beyond to see your pet when they are not feeling well and fit you in the schedule. Diane is just fabulous, the techs are warm and friendly, and the vets are awesome.

As someone that works at a different animal hospital, I have nothing but fantastic things to say about CSAH! Dr. Contreras, Dr. McCarthy, and Dr. Unsell are all fantastic vets and have all worked with my 3 year old husky since he was a tiny puppy; in fact, many dogs that go to his doggie daycare also go to CSAH and have discussed with me how much we adore the staff and facility. In addition, Apollo and I adore Tim (I believe he is a vet tech.) Diane (maybe Denise? I am awful with names sometimes) is such a joy to talk to whether on the phone or in the lobby. As a vet receptionist, I understand how stressful even our job can be, but I can never tell if she has had a bad day because she is always professional and kind. Not to mention even with discounts at my job almost everything is more affordable for someone in their 20s. Even if they ended up being more expensive, I would still go here because I trust every single one of them with my best friend, and they have displayed their competence for years. I cannot imagine ever finding a better location and staff to see. Please don’t get me wrong because I love the animal hospital I work for, but CSAH has made such an impact on myself and Apollo that we will continue our years of loyalty. Thank you for everything every single one of you do!! I am certain you are all not told enough how much of an impact you make on families, but myself and an abundance of others are extremely appreciative for all you do! Hopefully one day Apollo can become Pet of the Month like his camp BFF, Timber!

I've been taking my 16 year old cat here for a little over a year. We switched initially because of my daughter's recommendation and it was closer to home. We hated leaving our previous vet of almost 14 years, but our cat was getting so stressed with the longer car ride that we needed to find a closer vet. The folks at Carol Stream are so caring and knowledgeable, they made the decision to change much easier. They do a great job caring for her many Senior cat needs and issues. The staff there is truly the best.
