Zamzows Boise, Idaho

I've never reviewed anything before but after talking with my husband I decided I needed to. I have been a loyal customer to Zamzows for many years now. However, I am very disappointed with that girl, who is apparently the manager. Interesting choice there Zamzows, promoting her to manager. She is flat out rude and disrespectful. I was speaking with her and she very clearly wasn't even listening to anything I said. The only saving grace about this store is the friendly young man whom I thought was the actual manager. He is very pleasant and the only reason we continue to shop at your State Street store. We love Zamzows and I thought it might be pertinent information to know coming into the holiday season, as she has made us think twice about shopping there.

My son had his heart set on a pet here, we put it on hold while we bought the enclosure and toys for it. The next day, after paying to buy all these things for it we came in to pick it up. The whole store smelled of toxic fumes and gave us a headache. Apparently last night they were painting the floors… and half the pets were dead including ours that we had on hold!! These people are expert pet killers!

This is the worst zamzows I’ve ever been to. I walked into the small animal section because I needed a rat and there were three employees standing there talking, as soon as I walked back they all walked away without saying anything. Then some lady tried walking back with her dog and one of the employees asked her not to go back there because it scared the animals, which is understandable. But then made a comment saying “I would be glad to kick anyone out”. The employees here are so disrespectful and useless to anyone that comes in. I have never had a good experience at this location.

I am so grateful to the excellent staff at Zamzows - State Street. I was looking for several large bags of vermiculite for a garden project. Unfortunately, the last bag had been sold. The manager agreed to order some for me, but midweek he learned the product was temporarily unavailable. Rather than let me down, he called all the other stores to locate enough for my garden. Sarah, the assistant manager, then drove around to the other stores to pick up the individual bags and had them all ready for me to pick up as planned on Saturday. They truly went above and beyond to help me. Thank you so much.

This is my favorite place to buy houseplants. Sandy is very knowledgeable and helpful.

I never thought a dog could have a favorite store but Nellie about loses her mind from excitement every time we pull into the Zamzow’s parking lot. She pulls me straight to the toys and takes her pick. As her dog mom, I love that I am able to buy locally sourced dog food from a local company. I love how friendly the employees are to us. I love their indoor plant selection and I love buying my flowers here in the spring time. Their selection of plants, flowers, pots, dog items and cat items never fails. Zamzow’s is my favorite place to shop for garden, pet, plants and yard decor. Also, Stacia is a 10/10. She goes out of her way to greet Nellie. I love her energy and how happy she gets when she sees Nellie carrying her new toy through the store. Thank you, Stacia for being a light in this world!

I go here for all my fish and supplies. They are friendly and knowledgeable.

The vet clinics are one of the best deals in the valley. The store has an excellent selection of pet products and food at reasonable prices. The home and garden section is good as well, with great products and knowledgeable staff.

Awesome, friendly staff. They know about everything from vegetable gardens to lawn care to pets and animals! We only feed our dogs Zamzows Grandma Z food and their lawn program works better than Scott's and costs less over the whole season.

Good some essential outdoors stuff plants good in century staff good but the store brand products zammzows was very low quality and worthless that my experience it's no good.

We had an 11 AM appointment at the vaccine clinic. At check-in, we were told the wait would be about 25 minutes. Forty minutes later were told it would be another 20. Twenty minutes later I checked again and it was clear there was at least another hour’s worth of people ahead of us. In addition to the hours-long wait, most people were waiting indoors in the event center and about 25% were not wearing masks. The employee and manager I spoke with took no action to get people to mask up or wait outside. Sadly this location is in violation of multiple health orders with regard to group size, indoor capacity and masking, and is likely contributing to the spread of COVID in our neighborhood. Zamzow’s is an Idaho icon and I think they should do better by their community.

Disappointed in the fact that no one was willing to help us find a gardening item and once we found it on our own, they were unwilling to find out if that was the only size they had despite the tags laying around stating other wise. Just getting an “I don’t know” then silence was very rude.

The quality is good, the staff is helpful about 90% of the time. Prices can tend towards the more expensive side so I don't go here for everything. I have used their in house lawn care products for several years now and have been very pleased with the outcomes.

Worst customer service around. Everyone working there seems to not care about giving a good experience. It's disappointing that these people have jobs and there are people out there who would work hard for one. Please do not go to this Zamzows it is not worth your time.

The absolute best Zamzows! I came to this location for the first time together in search of houseplants. I was pleasantly surprised to find they have the best selection and care of any other Zamzows I’d been to. I also met Sandy who was an absolute joy! Very knowledgeable. I’ll be back.
