Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital has a real gem in Dr. Strapple. I love how kind she is and how she takes time to LISTEN. She never makes me feel rushed, and is always loving and kind to my cat, Baby, who freaks out with every check up. I like …

The Nurses and the Doctor understood my situation about prices for my dog. They offered alternate solutions that were just as effective for my dog to get healed. That showed me they care about the animal and the owner and not just getting paid. I will always go to Wahiawa Pet Hospital first before any other vet on the Aina.

I went to take my dog to the Kailua Makai Animal Hospital and I've been going there for years. They do a good job, even tho Dr. Zane has retired. But there is still Marsha there in the front answering the phone. That's why I still go there. The old timers!! Wena

Wahiawa Vet hospital has always given me and my dogs exceptional service. I can call with a question or need and they will always respond. Dr. Crabtree is amazing. Even in the toughest times, when I had to put my dog down, she was compassionate, empathic, and kind. Her staff sent me a sympathy card, which I still hold dear to my heart.

I took a foster kitty in for an exam as I was going to put her up for adoption. Though I have been a regular client of Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital, I have never had Dr. Isa treat any of our pets. Was I totally surprised at her efficiency! She thought of things like trimming her nails and that I should keep our kitty separate from our dog since kitty was getting treatment for worms. Dr. Isa followed up with the test result and then later even called to check up on our kitty. Thank you Dr. Isa and the great staff at WWPH!

They make it really difficult to order your pet's medication from online pet pharmacies. The medicine at this vet was 200% more!!! Edit: Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, it doesn't address the vet's frustrating process of ordering pet medicine online, which I have surprisingly accomplished with this vet on the past. Expect the Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital's process to take multiple back and forth phone calls/emails before you're able to purchase your pet's medication online at 1/2 the vet's advertised price.

I love bringing my pup here. Not only is it located closer to me than other vets, but the care they show my dog is amazing. They are compassionate and patient. I always trust them with Philys' health. She hates having her nails clipped but they always took their time to make sure they were all trimmed. Even with covid and us not being allowed in for awhile, Philys came out looking happy and not as anxious as you'd think getting a shot without her human with her. I can't recommend this place enough!

I have never had an experience like this. They are kindest people you will ever deal with. We moved our dog to quarantine there for the rest of his stay and he hated to come home. He loved them all so much! They taught him to not be afraid of baths too! I don't think I would've made the last 30 days of quarantine, if I knew he wasn't someplace where they loved him as much as we do!

My dog had blood in her stool and urine. My regular vet could not take her and recommended VERC (Veterinarian Emergency Referral Center), but Makai Pet Hospital took me in within a few hours and I was able to have her checked and get some meds within a few hours. Fortunately there was no blood in the urine, but remnants of the blood in the stool. I would have been worried to death if my dog was not seen almost immediately. All the doctors and vet techs I've met are very friendly and took good care of my dog. Can't ask for more than that! Mahalo to Makai Pet Hospital and Dr. Asato.

They are kind and professional and the evening appointments are convenient. However their parking lot is too small, the covid regulations mean your pet just disappears and you don't know what's happening to them, and the customer service seemed a bit overwhelmed when I visited. The real issue for me is what they charge. It's a bit insulting to ask for thousands of dollars in treatment and then be told you don't take American Express. It's like paying for first class and then being charged a baggage fee. It's clear your markup on products is more than Costco, Amazon, and Walmart, and I can't imagine your profit margin on medical procedures. I'm thinking you can afford to support customer's use of American Express. It's just tacky.

The staff and the Vets at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital are very efficient, knowledgeable, caring, they do an excellent job in taking great care of your furry friends. Our dog Kelli, now 15 1/2 yrs old, had so many major health issues/surgeries throughout the years. Thanks to the Vet's expertise, she is still strong and with us. I highly recommend Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital for taking care of your pets, they are trustworthy, you will be happy that you made the best choice!!

Tried to come in cause my puppy couldve possibly broken her leg and needed emergent care.(9:30 am). They said i had to make an appointment at (11:00) cause there were no vets in. Why do you have an emergency number on your window outside if you dont actually do emergency care? I might be stupid but isnt that the point of emergency care is to be able to provide care in an emergency? Shout out to aloha affordable vet in pearl city for helping us out in this crisis.

My Gizmo has been treated by Waikele Pet Hospital since 2004. We’ve been pleased with their service. Dr. Thornburg was kind and did a thorough exam of Gizmo. Gizmo didn’t cry when she gave him his shots. Gizmo has also been boarded there and when I receive him upon return he is happy and in good health. We will continue to go to WPH.

I have been to both the waipio/Waikele and Wahiawa pet Hospitals. They are very professional, Reliable and Responsive to your pets needs. I had my Maltese/poodle for 14yrs+. Unfortunately she had a illness that was not able to be helped by medication. Dr Crabtree and her team were on a full schedule, but knew the circumstances . They opened their door to providing my girl Lois her needs. I also took my Pom/chi mix Kiyome to them to do a full review of her health,, since we lost Lois to her illness. If your looking for a great Hospital to go too. Look no further then waikele or Wahiawa pet hospitals.

My experience with Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital (WWPH) started approximately 6 years ago when my doberman Ozzy started bleeding from his gums. I could tell It was not just due to dental plaque. I rushed him to the VCA clinic by Ala Moana. To my surprise and concern they immediately took Ozzy from me and had me fill out forms. Then I waited and finally was called into an exam room but no Ozzy. Much more concerned now. Finally the vet came in and gave me his analysis. I was too upset at this point to accept anything he said and asked for my dog back, paid for the visit and some meds and left still upset. On the road now I called WWPH out of the blue and to my pleasant surprise they told me to come right in so I just continued driving direct to them. It has been an awesome experience with them ever since. The staff is very professional. The facility is totally and supremely equipped and immaculate. Although I live in Hawaii Kai, they provide me with the confidence in their abilities and I only make the drive twice per year that I really don't mind. Although Ozzy passed away I knew that we did everything we could for him. Now Pono enjoys the drive out there and the staff.

There is always that personal touch with each staff. Even during COVID, the staff always has that "valued & caring" tone of voice. "I am an Aunty type, so I can hear over the phone that spirit of patience, respect, & mindfulness. They are genuine -professionals with great attitudes, they have this, "Don't worry you & your love one(pet) is going to be cared for here". The doctors will go out of their way to make sure you are well informed about what procedures will take place & the cost if you want to know. I appreciate the amount of staff who are so efficient to answering the phones, at the first ring, I get a sweet voice. If you treat them with patience, respect, & mindfulness you have developed a great relationship. Mahalo to Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital- for caring!

We took our 15 year old Shih Tzu “Tallie” to Waipahu-Waikele Pet Hospital at the of January. The staff and Dr. Nagamine were amazing with her and we knew because of her age and condition , our Tallie was near her time. Last week we had to put our beloved Tallie down. Today we received a condolence card signed by the staff and Dr. Nagamine. Thank you Dr. Nagamine and staff of this Pet hospital- your compassion shown and thoughtfulness is so very much appreciated by our family! Mahalo, The Sanborn Ohana!

My 10-year-old lab Annie Marie was suddenly not eating or being able to drink water and had this strange drool coming from her mouth and I called Waipahu Waikele pet Hospital and they gave us an appointment for 8 PM the same day. Dr. Ornellas-Walsh was our vet and she was amazing she found it and he had a bone lodged on her back molar which was causing her obvious discomfort and inability to eat or drink normally she popped it off and Annie immediately accepted a couple of treats ???? I was able to have a heartworm test done while we were there and get her her continued meds and bring her home happy and comfortable! We are grateful!

We are relatively new to the island and didnt have a set vet yet. Our female cat needed to have an emergency spay. From the beginning, the staff was very professional and understanding of how we felt. Danni was someone who we spoke with a lot, and she was very respectful, professional, and compassionate. She answered all my questions and did everything she could to help. Dr. Graas was the doctor that performed the surgery and he was amazing. He answered all my questions, he made sure he updated me often, and you could tell her well being was his top priority. We will continue to come here for our pets health care. Highly recommend!

When our Lab and family pet Charley passed June 2019, it broke our hearts- The Waipahu Waikele Pet hospital staff were caring, compassionate and so professional- even going as far as to have all the staff sign the follow up sympathy condolence card with his ashes- it was unexpected and MUCH appreciated. We truly love this place- we have not gotten another dog until the time is right We recommend this hospital to everyone who loves their pets- Ben and Pam

After bringing in a stray cat that was barely breathing, we were charged $420 for an x-ray. The technician was reluctant to handle the animal, most likely because he was a stray with fleas. On a positive note, Dr. Dubreuil was very knowledgeable and he genuinely cared for the feline's health. Kudos to him. After transferring to the VCA, we were given both a military discount and an additional 25% discount at the VCA. After calling to discuss the $400 charge from Waikele pet hospital, the receptionist apologized and said it was a packaged cost. Just an honest, impartial review stating facts.

Due to Covid- 19 I know things can be a little difficult manage. You often wonder how will they handle YOUR situation and YOUR needs? Everyone’s situation and needs are different. Here at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital they took VERY good care and helped me very closely. I would not be able to say this today if it weren’t for Dr. Graas and the staff at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital !! Thank you ALL for taking such great care and having such great communication with me! Last time I brought our other dog to the vet, I didn’t come back home with her???? She was a lil old lady and it wasn’t anyone’s fault. She just had a health problem that was really risky to handle. I do have to admit, it was traumatizing to leave Summer at the vet. Not knowing if she’d pull through or not due to her age. But thankfully, she was healthy enough to pull through and undergo her surgery!! Thank you Jayna for helping me with EVERYTHING! Also, trying to help keep me sane????

Vet is currently doing all of their business without bringing pet owners in due to Covid restrictions. I called tonight to get prescription food. I opted to come during off hours and requested they set the food outside so I could do a contactless pick up, since I'm waiting for Covid results. I was told they couldn't do this because I was "endangering them" by breathing in the vicinity of their establishment. So my 18 year old sick animal is without food. I'm forced to question the medical credentials of anyone who thinks I can somehow infect them in open air, wearing a mask, from the other side of a door 5 yards from their desk. And I definitely question the morals and compassion of anyone who's willing to let an animal go hungry out of what is basically hysteria.
