Riverwalk Animal Hospital Ridgeland, Georgia

I have an animal sanctuary on Daufuskie Island, and have taken many animals to Dr. Mitchum at this veterinary practice. I have always been 100 percent satisfied! All the veterinarians and staff are caring, efficient, and responsive. Dr. Mitchum is really in a league by himself. He's diagnosed and treated some some very tough cases, and is gentle and thorough with all pets...even cranky feral cats. The rates are reasonable, and the staff always works to get in a very sick cat or dog. I highly, highly recommend Riverwalk Animal Hospital.

Friendly doctors and a very clean veterinary clinic will go back again

While House/Pet sitting for a friend here in Sun City, their Scotty had a nasty ear infection. They were able to squeeze him in and get him taken care of asap. I hope they are able to Help everyone else as promptly and as kindly as they did for me. I highly recommend them to everyone!

Excellent care for my sick kitty. Got her in right away, had to leave her there for tests, but they kept me posted on what was going on. Loved Dr Jennah Rains. Kind, caring and compassionate, took the time to introduce herself and talk to us, and did not rush..Kitty, BELLA, is doing great, back to her normal self. I highly recommend Riverwalk ????

Great physicians and st Saff

I've been here a few times with my kitties and Dr. O'Quinn has been great every time. The vet techs have also been so nice and caring with my cats. When my boy needed some expensive diagnostic tests, they were kind and gave me a bit of time to figure out what we could afford and never made me feel like a bad pet parent for not being able to drop half a grand at the time. Each time we've visited Dr. O'Quinn has taken time to speak to me about the cat's overall health and possible options for treatment without rushing us through. Also every time we've been they've run on time which is much appreciated when you have a schedule.

Caring compassionate staff with all our kiddos, but especially as we face letting one go. The best!

Bring in a happy mobile 18 day old puppy, get sent home an extremely dehydrated puppy too weak to even bottle feed and died in 2 hours. If you love your pets, I don't recommend Dr. Mitchum. Wish I had known the connection between him and his wife that almost killed my horse a couple years ago due to incorrect treatment, because I'd have waited until I could see Dr. O'Quinn. She actually knows how to care for animals. I wish she was at a different office.

Do not bring your sick dog to riverwalk

I adopted an undernourished 2 year old Siamese from a hoarding situation last May. I took him to another vet and got lots of care there for the many maladies that he was plagued with from his prior situation. Thankfully, he was mostly well except for a nasty upper respiratory infection that they just couldn't seem to get rid of after several rounds of different treatments. I decided to take my kitty Paul Mitchell to Riverwalk Animal Hospital as a last resort to get his shots this year and see if Dr. Mitchum could help. Well, for a great price Dr. Mitchum gave us a new prescription that we hadn't tried without having to pay for expensive tests. IT WORKED!!! Little Paul Mitchell no longer sneezes uncontrollably or has the bloody mucus problem that plagued him for so long. His quality of life has gotten so much better and we have Dr. Mitchum to thank for that! Exceptional service, unbeatable practice. Thanks so much!

Took my dog in to see what was wrong with his mouth and why he wouldn't stop scratching. Paid the fee for the vet to find out what was going on and got a very vague answer of it might be a tooth or his teeth and no answer on why hes scratching so much.add in the bill they said we would have to pay for them to pull a tooth! Will never go there again. $1000 for one tooth that may or may not be the reason hes pawing at his mouth. No thank you. Next time actually figure out what's going on before you try to get 1k.

I have been looking for a knowledgeable veterinarian to care for our dog that has special needs. I haven't been fully satisfied with other veterinarian clinics in the area, but this clinic was different. They were kind, compassionate, and understanding. I plan to continue to use Dr. Baker for all my fur babies!

Dr. Mitchum and the Riverwalk Team are respectful and professional. They've made a lot of adjustments due to Covid. Their hard work and compassion is much appreciated!

I have boarded my cats here twice since moving to the area. This 2nd time was for 10 days of boarding, including an exam and blood work for my cat Lea. I have yet to receive a call from the vet explaining the outcomes of the blood work. I would think after spending $300+ on the first boarding and $900+ on the second boarding/exam, I would at least warrant a phone call from the vet as to bloodwork findings. I can't possibly understand all of the 5-star reviews. I will never go back to this place.

Everyone I've come in contact with here were VERY RUDE! I guess you have to be a Sun City or gated community resident to get any respect from these people. This is my last time coming here.

I could go on and on about how great everyone is here ! I recently had to put my sweet Ace down and the amount of personal care they put into it was amazing . They had a sweet little spot set up outside under a tree since it was a beautiful day . The whole process was so relaxed and perfect For him and myself . They also made a sweet little footprint keepsake that’s was more than I ever imagined . It truly was the only place I could have trusted to do this . He will be so missed . Thank you for the quality of care you showed my bubba , we are forever grateful for Such a great experience given the circumstances.

Just adopted a few kittens a couple months ago, and they just got sick. Without hesitation Yvonne was able to help me figure out what I needed to do before even coming in to see anyone. Not only that, but I wasn’t a patient yet. I can’t believe they took so much time out of their day to help me and my cats before I had even established a relationship with a vet in the Area. I will only come here as long as I am in the area!

The woman that helped with bringing my foster dog Omer was so sweet and caring towards him. She explained to me what was going to happen and even gave me a time frame; which was accurate.

Dr Mitchum is the most gentle caring Veterinarian I have ever met! Recently we had to say goodbye to our love of 18 years, Miss Capers. Dr Mitchum could not have been more compassionate to her needs ...or mine. He went out of his way to make her as comfortable as possible and treated her with such respect...just like family....which is what she was to us. He even took the time to write me the sweetest note...such a kind heart. He and his staff are just amazing and we can not thank them all enough for taking such good care of us during such a difficult time.

You can't find a better vet. Dr. Mitchium is all about healing the animal not about the money. We got a cat with a broken arm. He saw us right away and didn't charge us an arm and a leg. I am so grateful to him for all he did for our little Leesa.
