We had my new puppy’s first visit today and it was super smooth! Brooke was so kind, knowledgeable, and friendly! The prices are super reasonable and the care/concern they provide is excellent. Dr. Erica, the vet, was also kind, patient with my questions, and very knowledgeable. I love supporting community business because of the compassion and love they show. Mcdonough Animal Hospital got my vote!! ????

We LOVE McDonough Animal Hospital , a majority of our clients take their pets there. And we also take our rescue dogs there for vaccines and for spay and neuters. They are always kind, and always help us! The best neighbors a business could ask for.

Very good experience with these folks of late. This morning, our eonderful poodle, Prissy died after 13 wonderful years. She had heart issues the last couple of years and Dr. Erica took wonderful care of her. A special thank you and hats off to Ellie, receptionist or whatever. She answered my call this morning and let me in a side door. She was understanding, sympathetic, and simply wonderful, helping me make cremation arrangements for our wonderful pet. Thanks McDonough Animal Hospital. Most of all. thanks Ellie.

The experience was ok overall, the staff was pretty nice and I didn't wait long. The reason I won't be going back is because they charge a 3.75% fee to use a card, it might seem small but it just rubs me the wrong way, I feel like I'm paying you in order to pay you. Thankfully there are many other vets in my area who don't pass their business expenses on to the customer so blatantly.

This place is a joke, they are money hungry, don't care about our fur babies. We have been going here for years and they know my baby has been on the same medication for years but they want to act like butts about the meds. Don't want to give him his meds. Without giving us hassel. We found another vet

Wait times too long even when an appointment is made. This time it was 55 minutes before I left without being seen. This is the second time the wait was extra long. I understand emergencies come up, but it would’ve been nice if someone poked their head other door to explain the delay & ask if I want to continue to wait. Not sure if walk-ins have anything to do with it. My dog has a very high prey drive & gets very agitated by cats. You have to walk by cat & rabbit cages to get to the exam rooms. At least one cat is allowed to roam freely. These are animals I guess are up for adoption. My dog grabbed the rabbit cage at last visit scaring the rabbit half to death. There was not much room to avoid the cage. And I wouldn’t be able to tell you who are the vets and who are the techs. They take them in the back for blood draws, shots, nail trims, etc. I suppose I’ve talked to at least one of the vets before, but I don’t know.

Pricing is way more fair than most places in the area, setting up an appointment is easy, and staff are very informative :) My dog has always gotten the best help here.

My dog and I have criss crossed the country multiple times. He has seizures and as such requires a med plan of anti-seizure medication and periodic lab testing. Of all the vetinarians we've partnered with over the years McDonough Animal Hospital has been the most challenging. They've failed to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for a fairly simple condition. Getting my dog's medication prescription has been unnecessarily arduous and today I felt like the systems failure I've experienced over this put my dog at risk. I've decided to pull my dog from their panel and find another vet that will be more responsive and more reliable to our needs. Given my experience with Vets across the country I would be wary to rcommend these guys to someone.

I called the animal hospital on September 13th 2021 I talked to someone they told me that day some was going to call me back when the doctors get there to see what can they do for my dog it's like life and death her throat is closing up the doctor already told me so I'm trying to see could she has surgery or anything but I didn't get a call back yesterday so I'm calling again this morning I feel when you say you going to do something do it like why I'm just sitting here waiting on y'all to call because I didn't want to keep calling them.

My overall experience was good. Staff is very pleasant and professional. I didn’t like when paying using a credit card that a 3.75% charge is added to your bill. I feel that is extremely high. Especially, being a Business Owner myself. Most business is only charged a total of $.20 - $.30 cents for each credit card transaction. In the future, I will be paying using a check.

I’ve always had a wonderful experience with MAH, front desk, techs and vets. They care, the cost is extremely reasonable and they’re just kind. Tbh that’s the thing I like the best, kindness. Thank you all for everything you do for our girls.

The bedside manner at this place has been awful. Having to put down your animal is always a tough decision and being told “this could have been avoided” is not how you should handle the situation. That is not the time or place, give the family of the animal a chance to grieve and follow up later, don’t make a bad situation worse

Oliver our dog has been treated by 3 vets in his 11 years of life. We moved out of the area of one vet. Our second vet couldn't work Oliver in around my work schedule when he was sick, which caused me to research others. McDonough Animal Hospital worked us in, got Oliver feeling better and the rest is history. We have found Oliver's forever vet. They are kind, available and professional. We love going there because they listen and not just pushing products. They actually care. The ladies at the front desk make you feel welcomed. The technicians are so knowledgeable and the veterinarians make you feel like family. We are so grateful that they call after each visit to check on our fur baby Oliver. They text us when Oliver shots are due. The prices are affordable and the treatments are excellent.

This is a rant in regards to McDonough Animal Hospital. My mom’s cat was put down today there. She was very sick, and started shutting down. My mom was beside herself. Crying and feeling like a failure. I comforted her on the way to the vet, telling her that she did everything she could, and it’s her cat’s time now. We get there, and the ladies at the front desk are great. Very understanding, caring, and polite. Things to a BIG turn, when a vet assistant I’m assuming, with a paw print tattoo on her arm, came into the room to discuss with us the situation. While my mom is visibly devastated, she begins to lecture her how she should have brought her cat in sooner, that she’s clearly been suffering for a very long time, and now it’s too late. This caused my mom to get even more upset, and caused me just pure outrage. She leaves the room and then comes back to say, “I’m sorry for being so harsh, but this could have possibly been avoided.” Saying sorry for being harsh, shows self awareness. She knew was wrong, but continued. She then says, “she’s so weak, that this first injection might KILL her, without having to do the second one.” Why say KILL in that statement? I told the main vet once my mom’s cat was no longer with us, that the employee needs better bedside manner, and needs to take a sensitivity class or something. My mom does a fantastic job taking care of her animals, but she herself has developed health issues recently. She spoon fed this cat for weeks, trying to keep her going, and it was working. You can spend hundreds of dollars on tests, bloodwork, and get the same result. This cat has been checked out before. Don’t lecture people, because you don’t know their circumstances, and it’s not your job to make them feel worse. She’s had this cat for many years, and it isn’t her fault. I told my mom to never take her pets there again. I myself, have had bad experiences there. I now go to East Lake, with no issues. Conyers has a great veterinary hospital as well.

Making the appointment was super easy and I got a next day appointment. we were in and out and my dog's problem was fixed without prescription medication, just over the counter medication. This is my new vet with no plans to change.

This office genuinely cares for the animals and the families that bring their pets in. I appreciate the follow up call and the emails to check on my pets. I am transitioning over from the Lake Dow office due to the kindness, attentiveness and professionalism that this office delivers on every visit.

We have been taking our animals to McDonough Animal Hospital for years. We have both dogs and cats. The only issue we have ever had was a credit card charge error which was promptly addressed and corrected. We have been happy with the service we received and the treatments for our animals. The staff has always been up front about charges and treatment outcomes. They saved my son's cat that was extremely sick, and for that we are extremely grateful. We recently had to have our dog euthanized due to age and sickness. The staff was understanding and empathetic to our pain and grief and handled the matter very tactfully and sympathetically. They also sent us a condolence card in the mail, signed by the staff. I found that very comforting and appreciate the gesture. No business is perfect, but McDonough Animal Hospital has performed well for us.

The entire experience for me with my dog for the first time was great. I would have given 5 stars, had there not been cats & rabbits in cages on either side of the exam rooms up for adoption...I am allergic to cats so it made me a little sick, but the service was great, the price was super reasonable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and all my concerns were thoroughly addressed. I also did not have to wait a long time for my appointment, which was great.
