Our fur babies, Peanutbutter and Badger, have been with East Lake Vets since 2008 when we brought them home as adopted rescue cats from the Jasper County Humane Society. Immediately, we knew we were in terrific hands for their initial well baby check and having their sterilization procedures. For 13 1/2 years, we have been so fortunate that they have been very healthy indoor cats. Cat owners know that cats are extremely guarded about showing illness; the signs of not feeling well are quite subtle. Tuesday, night Badger just didn’t seem like himself. By Wednesday morning, Peanutbutter had us concerned as well. Turns out she had developed a sinus infection (cat sneeze…joy!). He had an awful stomach virus (appreciated the sneeze much more than I knew????). He was severely dehydrated and has now had three trips for follow up care just to make sure that everything is completely taken care of. Dr Morris is so wonderful and treats his patients and ‘parents’ with compassion and a sense of humor. He explained a lot about the anatomy of what was going on and what to watch for, really putting our minds at ease. People love to be recognized for great work, and they should be! Thank you for taking care of ALL of us!!!!!

First visit was a great visit. Checked in from the vehicle. Visit was good for the new puppy. Had switched here due to our other Vet went out of business.

I purchased Simparico in September for my Rottweiler. Gave it to him the day I purchased it and then realized it was expired. I called the vet and was told it was ok that he had taken it and that they would have more in October and they would replace what I bought and give a free month for inconvenience. I called the manufacturer and was told they would not have recommended taking the meds expired and they are not guaranteed to work passed the expiration date. So, I gave my dog meds that may be ineffective. I didn’t want to double dose him for obvious reasons, so I said I’d just wait until October. I called this morning and they don’t have it. I ask for a refund and I have to jump through hoops to get it. I have to bring in the expired meds that I was initially told I could dispose of to get my refund (I don’t live close to the clinic). So it comes to this 1) I won’t get the one they promised for inconvenience 2) when I called today for the replacement they said they don’t stock it anymore and I have to get it elsewhere. They should’ve known this last month when I purchased it and just issued the refund. The fact that they don’t currently stock it is why it was expired. They knew that in September. 3) I have to waste gas and time to get what belongs to me. Please check your pet’s expiration dates in meds purchased.

I took my 7 week old puppy to East Lake Veterinarian Hospital on 01/27/21. I usually see Dr. Morris. I didn’t know she had retired. I saw instead, Dr. Gordon Waggoner. My pup was tested for worms. Dr. Waggoner listened to her heart, and that was about it which kind of surprised me. I told him that I got her from a farmer/rancher guy who just wanted his Great Pyrenees to go back to work so she could tend his sheep. The puppies had been weaned early for this reason. He said there was no way my dog was only 7 weeks old. She was too big. I replied that Great Pyrenees are of the giant breed and the father’s breed was unknown. I told him she had quit eating that morning and asked him about diet. He said he didn’t prefer one food over the other and to put broth on her food. He gave her her distemper vaccinations and gave me a wormer medicine and Simpartica Trio for heart worm/parasites. She got sick the day after I gave her the parasite medicine. I thought it had made her sick because the symptoms she was having matched reaction to the medicine, and it’s not usually given to young puppies. My husband and I took her back on the 29th because she was so lethargic and wouldn’t eat or drink. Dr. Waggoner treated her and she perked up, but next morning she was the same. I called to try and take her back. I was told that they were too busy to see her. I could come get some anti nausea meds. We took her to another vet and found out she had Parvovirus and was very sick. Parvo is something she should have been tested for during the initial visit to the vet at East Lake because of her age, circumstances, and symptoms (wouldn’t eat). When she got sick, and we took her back she most definitely should have been tested. Exposure to her could potentially give any other dog who is not full vaccinated, Parvo. We ended up having to take her to Auburn University Veterinary Hospital for treatment. She stayed the weekend. She seems to have made a full recovery thanks to the wonderful people at Auburn and our ability to pay for ER care. I will let you draw your own conclusions about East Lake Veterinary Hospital. I will never take my two animals back there.

Had to put my Whitney down! They were very supportive and the Dr. was honest! I was willing to spend it all to save her and he wouldn’t let me! It’s a relief to know that there are still people working in the medical field for the love of animals and not the money!! I highly recommend this facility!

My mother, Marylee Digby has been using this veterinarian for 20 years and has spent thousands of dollars. She always liked for her pets to see one particular vet, and is now been told she does not get to choose which veterinarian she sees. She was told by the vet that he would pull her cats tooth the following week. So she called all the following week and the employees at the front desk told her they were to busy and that the vet was to busy to speak with her. This continued all week. She is 78 and the kindest person you could meet. The employees have been rude to her, they are not professional. She decided last week to start using Woodland veterinarian clinic. And has asked the staff to send her records to Woodland for a week now and they still have not done so. Is this not supposed to be a business, is this the way you treat loyal customers? As she said it is sad the way this business has gone down over the past few years. SEND MY MOTHER'S RECORDS LIKE SHE ASKED!!!

We've been taking our 3 dogs and 2 barn cats there since we moved to Georgia 6 years ago- they've always been incredibly patient and understanding with my pretty neurotic too big for her own good rescue pup, which I appreciate. They've also done really well with my semiferal cats, and I have absolutely no complaints about any of their services. Prices are pretty reasonable too, I've never gotten a bill and thought that it was really high- and even if I did have questions, you receive an itemized list with your receipt when you check out. All in all, I would highly recommend this practice, and I've had nothing but pleasant experiences.
