Delightful Dog Marietta, Georgia

I will first say that my first two visits to Delightful Dogs (Christie was groomer) were fine and I was satisfied. I then took my Labradoodle to another groomer a few times and was so happy with her work. I decided to go back to Christie at Delightful Dogs this week and I had the most horrible experience. I dropped of Milly on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021. I acknoledged that she had some matted areas because we took her to the beach and she played in water and sand. Christie called and said that she might have to cut her shorter than she would normally because of the matted areas and I told her to do what she needed to do. 2 hours later, she called me to tell me Milly was ready to be picked up and that she had shaved her. I was furious. I asked her why she did not call me to tell me she had to shave her and she said she did call me. But the message was, "I may have to cut her shorter than normal". My complaint is that she did not call me to tell me "shaving" was needed. If she had, I would have said that I will pick her up and not to shave her. I am very upset that she did not communicate that shaving would be necessary. It ruined Christmas pics. When I went ot pick Milly up, Christie normally would come out and talk to me, but she didnt. She knew I was not happy from the phone call, so she should have at least come out to greet me. I will never go back there. In my opinion, she took the easy route and shaved my dog rather than working out as much of the matting as she could and not shaving her entire body. If her matting was that severe, she should have consulted with me. If there was a no start recommendation , that would have been my selection.

I’ve called several times during normal business hours and no one ever answers the phone nor returned my call. I’ve even sent an email to the email listed on the voicemail and no one has replied.

Melony knows dogs and has been a huge help in training our dog. We adopted a dog and were having a lot of problems with biting and chewing—Melony helped us figure out how to manage the behavior and we have a much better dog for it! Our doggo also loves going to board at her location. We’ve done both single day and overnight and each time, our dog is practically breaking out of the car to get inside.

Our puppy loves Delightful Dog! The staff is amazing and Melony does everything possible to make the dogs feel loved and comfortable. We have been using their preschool program since our puppy turned 16 weeks old and couldn’t be happier with it. Melony has even kept him overnight at her home when we had an unforeseen situation come up. She sent us updates and pictures while he was there and he looked like he was having the best time!

Very happy we started my puppy Calypso at Delightful Dog. Melony is a wonderful trainer. Calypso took to her right away! She's very good at describing what we're going to learn, how we're going to learn it and how we can build on these simple interactions. Also, Melody is super patience with the humans, taking the extra time we need to learn the good and better ways to work with our dog!

I called looking for help with my dog, left a message, and nobody ever called meet back.

Delightful Dog came highly recommended and fid not disappoint. Great facility and awesome staff.

We have only great things to say about literally "hundreds of experiences" with Delightful Dog. They have provided exemplary day/play care and boarding for our dogs for so many years, I've lost count. The onsite management are also owners (passionate pet lovers) - not franchise employees; the staff are well trained, the facility is very roomy, safe, and CLEAN. They are taking extreme steps to protect their employees, pet owners, and the pets themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic. I speak from many years of experience when giving this unwavering FIVE STAR endorsement.

Delightful Dog is an amazing place! The care the team shows for our (and all) furbabies is amazing! They use only positive training techniques and can even come to your home for training. We just had a session in our backyard and it was so helpful! I definitely recommend Delightful Dog for training, playcare, and boarding!

Love this place. Melody gave me fabulous training for my wild pup, and I use her tips every day. My Golden and my Border Collie mix both love going there.

Great group of people, dogs are excited to go/be there. My favorite part - conveniently long hours, drop off between 7-9am and pick-up 5-7pm, so you can get a full 12 hours to yourself (for work, errands, etc.) and the fur baby is not only happy and active but also tired and ready for dinner/bed when they get home, which is nice when you have a naturally hyper puppy :) Two thumbs (or paws) up.

New to the area so I thought I would check out Delightful dog to have my doggie groomed. They were booking appointments 3 weeks out. The day of my appointment they called 10 minutes before my appointment to tell me the groomer wasn’t coming in and had to call me some other time to reschedule. No thanks. Plenty of groomers with 4+ star reviews in east Cobb.

We've taken our puppy to Delightful Dog since she was 8 weeks old. She has been part of the nursery and preschool programs and soon to be part of the daily play groups. The folks at DD are amazing! They are all kind and caring and truly love dogs. Their training techniques are unique using positive reinforcement and allowing the dog to discover what is appropriate behavior. Nursery and preschool are truly unique in that the dogs get very individualized attention and exposure to many different things. The folks at DD are doing for our pup what our busy schedules won't let us do as effectively . We also get daily report cards with her progress and things we can work on at home, as well as training tips. I highly recommend Delightful Dog for anyone needing to board their dogs, for training, or for daily play groups. The staff are all well trained and truly love what they do.

Delightful Dog has been such a god-send for our dog and our family! From puppy training when our dog first came to our home to boarding, which has become our dog’s second home, we could not be more grateful for Delightful Dog! Melony and her staff have been welcoming, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Any time our dog boards with DD, we are able to call any time to check on our dog. We have such a peace of mind when we leave town knowing our dog is in good hands. I am most impressed with their strict policies on canine illnesses. I know my dog is around other healthy and active dogs, and for me, that means a happy dog and less visits to the vet. We are so very grateful for Delightful Dog and their whole staff.

We have had our Golden here for daycare and puppy school since she was born about 2-1/2 years ago. I give the highest praise for Melony, Beah and their staff.

Our dog looks forward to every day that she gets to go to “camp”, runs into the arms of her handlers, well cared for and happy happy happy- we couldn’t do what we do without Delightful Dog- love them!!!

We have been bringing our golden retriever puppy here for 6 weeks . They have a wonderful puppy nursery program in which the owner, Melonie, personally teaches the pups all kinds of skills and coping mechanisms, appropriate to the puppy's developmental stage and comfort. We take Shasta twice weekly, and she now sees the building and gets visibly excited to start her day there. She graduates next week from nursery and we will be taking her to the next step...puppy preschool! Admittedly it is pricey, but seeing her progress, we can definitely say, it has been a worthwhile investment! Especially as we both work full time and could not have done this work ourselves. The rest of the staff is also awesome...an enthusiastic and knowledgeable bunch of dog lovers. Highly recommend!

When we first fell in love with a little black and white puppy at the Atlanta Humane Society, as a senior couple we knew we wanted our new baby to have a strong start in life with socialization and manners. After a lot of research, we chose Delightful Dog, and promptly enrolled our 10-week old girl into DD’s nursery program. There she learned to play nicely with others, developed her puppy skills, and got a good start in basic puppy obedience. We loved it, and - more importantly - Pippa loved it! (She’s learned to recognize the turn onto Lower Roswell Rd near DD and gets her wiggle butt going.) Pips is now not far from her first birthday, and she has long moved on to their day care program and Melony’s positive training classes. I can’t say enough good things about the caring staff, the owner Melony, their overall positive training philosophy, and the exceptional facilities of Delightful Dog.

Amazing staff. My dog went for puppy socialization classes and we still reap the benefits today. He also goes to the small dog day care and occasionally boards there. He loves it. I don’t know what we would do without them. Absolutely fantastic.

Delightful Dog is the cleanest and friendliest dog boarding place. They also host events for pet rescues.

Highly recommend Delightful Dog. Lenny our new puppy is so cuddly and just a plain lovey in our house, he was developing some undesirable behaviors on a leash and riding in a car. Barking at every passing person was getting out of control and also while riding in the car. After completing the Manners I course at Delightful Dog he is becoming a much nicer dog to walk and ride with. He sat patiently in the crowded Apple Store for an hour and a half, with good manners. Melony our instructor and owner taught us distracting tricks to keep our puppy focused on us. We also attend small dog playtime at Delightful Dog as often as possible as it is teaching him good social behavior. Another aspect of DD,I would recommend is their grooming. Erin does a beautiful cut and groom for our Maltipoo. It is all done in a humane manner, no pulling beards etc. Lenny comes out happy and not stressed and best of all, I know he has been treated the way I would want. Check out their nursery for young puppies, they not only play but they are taught basic commands during the day. So glad we found Delightful Dog!

I took my puppy for their puppy program and after for day care and she loves it. She wha her tail and runs when we get there and the staff is super knowledgeable, willing to answer all sorts of questions, give you guidance...it's a great place, specially if you are a 1st time dog owner
