I found this shelter to be clean, open, and the staff to be extremely kind and loving toward the animals and very helpful and honest with me regarding what they knew about the dogs I was interested in adopting. I left with a sweet CHI now named Apple and she is perfect and healthy. Thank goodness this shelter exists. I encourage anyone interested in a pet to visit them and if not send support. Ann Parker

I went here to adopt 2 kittens Jupiter and Saturn I was helped by Haley was sooo wonderful in making sure she stayed layer so that we could pick up our kitties ❤ If you ever want to adopt this is the place to go! We did a meet and greet before we picked up the kittens the process was amazing and now my family is whole!

15 year old Bluebell has a home as long as I have one. God knows we both need a break. Been a journey for both of us.

This is a wonderful organization doing a tremendous job to rescue, rehabilitate, medically care for, and adopt out wonderful pets into loving homes. The staff is friendly and genuinely cares for animals and their vision to end pet homelessness.

They responded very quickly to our inquiry about Russ. We had a virtual meeting and was able to pick up Russ who is now named Riley the next day.

I adopted THE CUTEST shorthair black kitten by the name of ACE! This place is AMAZING!! My helper was a fellow Ohioan and made sure I had EVERYTHING I needed to make sure my ace was comfy and safe! He was already litter trained which helps me ALOT and was neutered and had all shots upon adoption they even pre-micro chipped and registered my kitty before I left the process was super easy super simple and super fun!!! Thanks so much I changed his name to shadow moon and we have been cuddling ever since!!

Very nice place. The dog I got from there to foster is very sweet. They are available for any questions or concerns.

It's disappointing that they have such a long wait time to even visit a dog for adoption, yet don't allow walk ins to visit the shelter. They continuously urge you to go online for adoption and look at adoptable pets there, however if I found one I wanted to visit I would have to wait 20 days. This system doesn't work, I shouldn't be forced to only view adoptable pets online but have to wait nearly a month to even find out if its a good fit. They should rework their flawed system, that's why I rate 2 stars.

Adopted my best friend (a beautiful, sweet, goofy cat) from them a few months ago. They made the whole process very easy! I believe they are doing appointment-only visits right now due to COVID. I went to meet my little guy on a Thursday afternoon, and called back Friday morning because I just couldn’t stand the thought of him going home with anyone else. They were able to squeeze me in for a same-day appointment so I could bring him home. Best decision I’ve ever made! The staff is very helpful with answering any questions you may have. If I ever decide to adopt a sister or brother for my kitty I will definitely be back at Best Friends.

I've now had my best friend a year. They were so helpful in letting us meet the pups. We originally adopted 2 but one had anxiety about being left alone that didn't work out with our schedule. They were happy to work with us to re-home her. Best part they are no kill
