My sweet Pit needed immediate care after him getting his nail caught on the door, unfortunately when it happened AVS was closed and nobody else had an opening for him until almost the end of this month I was panicking because I didn’t want him to have an infection. So I had to wait and call in Friday to set up an appointment for today and let me tell you! This vet and their staff love my baby like I do, they talked me through all of my options and made sure we had the best plan set for my baby. I don’t trust anyone with my fur babies but I am so thankful that even though Covid made it impossible for me to go in due to restrictions they have now that they stepped in and was his comfort . They took amazing care of him and now we are home resting! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for always taking such great care of my babies.

Dr. Amsterdam is the best! I am always happy with the services I receive at his Macon or Roberta offices. My dogs love him too! ❤

Dr. Amsterdam and staff are very professional and caring. The doctor is the best and I can tell he loves all pets he treats. He was a life saver to my pet. Been my pet's vet for 12 years.

Dr. A was very remorseful when I brought my bleu and and he tried everything he could to save him but he did not make it. But the lady that he had working there I am guessing that’s his wife she was very nonchalant when I called basically telling me it’s my fault that he is dead cause I did not bring him in earlier. Even after I got in she was very rude she threw the paper work in a chair and told me to fill it out. Every thing that came out her mouth was about him not going to make it she even got upset when the other tech took him back and he had a accident on the floor. Even when Dr. A came out and gave us its condolences and how sorry he was she kept talking about I should have brought him earlier and he would maybe had a chance to live. Not once did I hear a sorry for your lost from her it was always a joke. Then when I returned because I left something she asked did I put him down yet. I was going to bring my other dog in for shot but I will be going to someone else because of her attitude.

Can you afford them? These folks are expensive! My dog had ear surgery and therefore has stiches put in total was close to $400. No wait I just thought that was the total . I took her back to get the stiches removed and low and behold, I was told that'll be $35 more for follow up visit. Just saying the follow up visit should have been in the surgery cost.

On our Drive up from South Florida our Two-year-old Havapoo got sick. We called a few vets in Macon Georgia and no one would see us. However, fortunately we called AVS and they said to come right over. Doctor Amsterdam was amazing, knowledgeable and caring and took good care of Kona. Ashley his assistant is a loving beautiful person. We were blessed to find this Vet with a BIG Heart! With gratitude xo

This vet saved my dog’s life. On Tuesday my dog’s hind legs were wobbly. I thought she was just being a little clumsy. By Wednesday morning she was just was completely paralyzed. She could not even hold her head up. Her breathing was very shallow. I attempted to contacted my usual vet Griffin’s Animal Hospital. I could not get them on the phone. I drove my dog down and they refused to see her for a week even though she was clearly dying. I contact AVS Animal Hospital and they agreed to see her that day at 11am. I called them from the parking lot around 10am and let them know I was there early because her breathing was getting worse. They let me know that their exam tables were being used and will call as soon as on was available. They called us on a little before 10:30. The vet looked at her asked me how long it happened and told me exactly what it was. Tic paralysis. He went to work looking for a tic. My dog is a shih tzu mix so she has lots of long hair, but he found it. He removed it and gave her a flee and tic bath and dip just in case there were more. I told him my budget and he designed a treatment plan with take home medications plan that fit my budget. Within hours my girl began to lift her head. She was a little wobbly but she was able to potty outside on her on. When I took her out at 11pm, I didn’t have to carry her out. She walked out on her own!!!! Thank you, Dr. Amsterdam and all the beautiful young ladies who helped save my baby’s girl. I’m now making them my regular vet. ????????????????

I gave him five stars because first of all I had no wait time at all and the doctor diagnose my dog immediately he knew what was going on, other vets that I've been to for the same problem did not know, I had to take my dog to another vet and it cost me alot more. He had kennel cough,

I've only been here a couple times so far but the entire staff is very friendly and explains everything to me in a way that I can understand. The pricing is also very fair compared to previous vets I've been to. Can't see myself going anywhere else.

I took my kitten in to be spayed and they gave her too much anesthesia and it made her have a heart attack. I don't recommend this place to anyone. They killed my furbaby.

As a person who helps people in need my review of this place is nothing but a money pit my girlfriend came to them with our family dog dying in the backseat crying her eyes out begging them to just look at him we were told one price of 35.00 then we get there and couldn't even get them to come look at our dog for less then 150.00 to even walk out to the car once my son pulled out his only 200.00 he had worked all summer. For their attitude changed 5 shots later they send my dog home still not sure if he will make it we paid 310.00 no receipt or anything. A word of advice the owner needs a new career I believe they forgot why they became a vet.

At first I really liked Dr. A, until three weeks ago. My cats have been having issues with their ears that I thought was mites. Dr. A didn’t bother to even check under a microscope to see what was actually going on with my babies, and gave me a medicine that would “kill all the mites in 7 days.” However, 6 days later, the “mites” were back worse than ever, and Dr. A changed it to “they need to come back for this medicine every 7 days.” Once the “‘mites” got EVEN WORSE, I decided to bring them to a different vet who immediately knew they had a yeast infection, not mites, because she actually took the time to look under a microscope. My poor babies were so upset and uncomfortable for two weeks, but the medicine she prescribed worked immediately. He seems to be good for shots and basic things, but after that, you get what you pay for.
