They take such good care of our pups and you can tell the staff really do care! I love picking up happy and tired pups from daycare! A sleepy dog is the best dog!

We are currently doing the training class at the other location and was told that we should put our dog in daycare to help with his threshold with training. Tried to set up the compatibility day at the Decatur location because it’s closer to our home and we were told that our almost 9 month old puppy can’t go to daycare because he’s not neutered. He’s only 8 months and his vet actually told us that for his breed, it would cause more problems. Nowhere on the website does it states this is a requirement. This needs to be on the website before people waste their time trying to set up their dog for their services.

I didn't even need to see his Report Card to know that Lopez had an aWeSoMe time. He crashed HARD when he got back home, and that's rare for my fuzzy little energizer hound. Thanks to Carolyn for the follow up to help us get everything started at BHV. And also to Danielle for her energy and professionalism before the sun was even up!

Facility and staff are great for day care. My dogs need a bit more privacy when boarding so we go to a different bhv location for that.

I initially took my dog to this facility to get groomed. That experience was ok, but led to him getting an ear infection, but I wrote it off as he was being kinda rowdy or something. That was my first mistake. I then signed him up for an unlimited daycare package the same day I took him for his temperament testing. Worst decision ever. Your dog will spend most of their time in these jail like kennels because there are so many dogs they go out in “rotations” the thing is these “rotations” are lies. I watched the camera from the time I dropped my dog off to the time I picked him up and he was out a total of 15 minutes. LITERALLY. I used about 2 days of my unlimited plan, primarily because I would try to drop him off and they would be “full” — I don’t even care to fight for an extended time AGAIN because it stinks…literally. Not cleanly. I hate I spent hundreds of dollars just for him to be cooped up in a smelly environment.

This place is GREAT! I just adopted a new dog last month and was nervous about leaving him at a kennel for a couple days while I was out of town(I’m the one with separation anxiety :) ) This place had a very easy online system for booking a free assessment and the overnight stays. My dog did great at both the assessment and during his overnight stay. I was able to check in on him via cameras streaming from all the play areas in the facility. He came home happy, clean, and tired(for once). I will definitely continue using this place for boarding, doggy daycare, and grooming!

I work around this facility and when I hear the staff screaming at the animals when they are outside, it really turns me off to consideration of bringing my pets. Screaming and air horns all day. Not to mention the size of the groups on the green space at one time. Smaller groups make for more attention to every pets.

I was very happy with the Hound Playground in Decatur. However, they are now under new ownership as Barking Hound Village and wow have things changed. I checked the webcams randomly throughout the day and the dogs are now kept in their crates much more than ever before. And this is only when the webcams work. The webcams are out very often and trying to check in on your fur-baby is not always possible. I picked up my dog after a week of boarding and they had a tag on her blanket with another dog's name. This is very frustrating and disappointing.

I filled out a request for my dog to go to the groomer. The online form said I would be emailed about my request. I was given a call a few hours later asking if my dog was neutered. The answer is no, and I wrote that he wasn't neutered on the booking form (he isn't neutered due to a medical condition and I'm not sure why it is relevant because he shouldn't be around other dogs anyways while getting groomed). I was kind on the phone and thanked the associate for calling me and went on with my day. The next morning at about 8:40 am I received a call and was left a voicemail saying that my dog wouldn't be allowed at the facility because he isn't neutered. Why I received this call at 8:40 am is beyond me. I had already been given this information and 8:40 am is absolutely an unreasonable time to call customers. As a business owner myself, and a former customer service manager at two different companies - I never call clients before 10:00 am. I was awoken on my one day off to receive information I had already been given and and it really annoyed me. Hopefully this review will encourage the company to start their calls later in the day and to review what clients see/say on the booking end form. I never wanted or asked for phone calls, yet I received two. I asked for emails, yet I never received one. Business reps seem very nice when they did call but unorganized.

Always great service and Tank loves the entire staff at BHV. The splash pad is probably the best feature here we always receive tons of photos of little man enjoying himself outside on the splash pad.

I allowed my dog to come here to see if this place would be a good fit for him for daycare or boarding and he seemed to have had a good time. Unfortunately we noticed a few days after his first day he started to have a really bad cough and took him to the vet. Comes to find out he has Kennel Cough and got it from a dog at Barking Hound. Now we have to pay $265 for our vet bill. I called Barking Hound and all they did was tell me I wasn’t the first person to call within the last week about their dogs getting kennel cough and they’d do a better job at trying to separate dogs with symptoms away from healthy ones..I feel as though that should have been done from the beginning and we could have avoided this. What’s the purpose in making us provide vaccinations records if you’re going to allow dogs that have Kennel Cough into your facility anyway? Frances tried to share how vaccinated or not it’s really easy for your dog to get KC. All the more reason why they should take the extra steps in making sure all dogs allowed in are healthy and not contagious to others. Will not be boarding my dog here or at any other location ever again.

My pup loves it here! The splash pad and daily report cards are an added bonus.

We have had two dogs experience barking hound. The first was able to play there for a few months before he got the boot for being “over stimulated.” I get it. He is obnoxious and probably deserved it. It’s the second dog that brings me to give only 3 stars. I dropped her off for her compatibility day and I barely made it out of the parking lot before they called and told me to come get her bc she wasn’t a good fit that day. I feel that they spent zero time seeing if she would warm up to being there. She was scared. It’s a new place, she’s a 10 month old puppy. She needed time. They did schedule her to come back and try again on a less busy day, but I’m not going to bother. I can’t be ready to jump up and go pick my dog up when they call and say she can’t stay. The staff is nice, the place is nice and clean. And if I had the absolute perfect dog that loved loud noises and strangers and a ton of dogs, then it would be great I suppose. I just wish they tried harder or were more accepting of a potential new client.

This is the best thing that could have happened for us as a family. I have a 5 month Germany Shepherd who is a handful. They are so loving, patient and informative as a whole to our family! #verygratefultohavefindthem

Our pupper LOVED the "camp" and being able to check on her via the cameras gave us a peace of mind. We'll definitely be coming here again of we need day or night dog watching. The staff are also really cool and liked her name.

This place is not professional and doesn’t have good customer service. They seemed to be overwhelmed in the morning. All there reviews are at least 5 months to 2 years old. This is what I wrote to them via my experience on 8/28/2020: Dear Barking Hound Village, I am emailing you to address my concerns re: my dog Royalty's shot records and the lack of clarity provided by your company. I called Monday and spoke to one of your employees named Danielle. She was very kind and courteous. I was able to sign up on the portal and provide my dogs shots via email as she instructed. On the portal the email address for shot records is this: barkinghoundvillage@shots.pet. I didn't receive any response or confirmation re: the records or shots that needed to be updated. I believe this is where the communication break down first started. Once I arrived to drop off my dog for his compatibility test this morning, I emailed the records again and reviewed them with Kiera and who I believe is the owner. There were issues with the attachments so I allowed your staff to view it via my iphone. Aftering viewing the records, the dates were not "up-to-date". However, no one could tell what specific shots were needed for my dog to come to Barking Hound again, like Danielle did on Monday. My concern is that I was never notified the records were not received, until this morning when I arrived. I was never told his shots needed to be updated as they are immunizations and lastly the email address in the portal is different from the email that I resent to your staff this morning. What I would've appreciated due to my schedule and time constraints was clear communication ahead of our arrival. I also called back today around 5 PM to clarify what was needed. I spoke with Kiera who didn't seem to know what I was talking about or the shots that were needed either. Nor did she seem to care to find out. When I asked to speak to a manager or the owner she got short with me, stating, "I had already spoken with him this morning", when I was in a rush for an 8 am presentation I was hosting via Zoom. When I spoke to Danielle on Monday she informed me there were only 3 shots needed (which included rabies). I am not sure why the owner and Kiera couldn't provide this information as well? At this time, I'm not sure I trust Barking Hound Village with my pet because they cannot seem to handle simple things like intake information as I mentioned above. I am also very eager to share my experience as a Google review because every customer deserves good quality service.

They really are the friendliest people! I love being able to see what my dog is up too on the live feed. When I pick her up she’s ready to go to sleep:)

I would recommend Hound Playground to anyone in the Decatur area! They always greet my dog by name as we walk in the door and are extremely accommodating and caring. I’ve had nothing but great experiences for boarding and daycare here!
