The 1 is not even low enough. Don't bother going there. They are only after your money. The practice manager is the worst!! Never again. I will be driving to Auburn from now on!! This is edit after the response from the owner. They treated one other of my animals and it must have been a different crew of people. Dr Brown by far is the best. She is compassionate. At a time like this for her to say my animals deserve more from me just solidifies what I said about them to begin with. Noone know the other person's circumstances or how things came to be but we always find a way to judge people. That's funny to me. Like I said I will NEVER use this place again!!

Euthanizing a 16 year old lab is a painful experience. The Rivertown staff and Dr. Brown made it as fast, painless and smooth as possible. Their compassion and professionalism were estraordinary.

My 11 year old chihuahua was diagnosed with a heart murmur earlier this year. I opted out of all the X-rays, and labs and she has been living her best life over this year. Last week , she had an unusual seizure like episode so we came to this emergency clinic. I paid the $200 fee to be seen and evaluated. The heart murmur was again confirmed and I received my estimate of $561 for X-rays, ultrasounds and blood work. I again opted to bring her home and make her as comfortable as possible. She did extremely well all week; however, last night her breathing pattern changed, she was coughing and was clearly very uncomfortable. I called this clinic at 9:30 pm and was informed that they were not set up for hospitalization and if she needed anything like oxygen or overnight care, I would need to take her to a hospital in Auburn. I told them that my baby was in full blown heart failure and I asked for assistance in getting her comfortable or worse case scenario putting her down. They refused to see me. I had to watch this poor animal suffer horribly for the next hour until she took her last breath around 11pm. I felt like when I needed emergency care the most, they failed. I’m still in shock

Yesterday morning I brought my dog Timber to Rivertown because he wasn’t acting normal at all and I was extremely concerned. They discovered he had severe pneumonia and immediately started treatment. I believe Timber received the highest level of care! They informed me about everything throughout the entire process, from the cost to exactly what Timber was having done. I feel secure and that he was in good hands! These negative reviews do not reflect the vets and vet techs. Right now the veterinary industry is extremely overwhelmed and they really are just doing their best job! Triage is so important so that the correct animals can be seen and treated. I am so thankful that they treated Timber with love and compassion. Great Vet, great staff, and now Timber is on the road to recovery and they gave him his best chance possible! Thank you Rivertown, your hard work is noticed and appreciated!

I changed my review from 5 stars to 1. When I worked there I along with the other employees were asked to leave a good review to make the clinics reviews stay high. Since then multiple vets have tried to contact the clinic to get my pets records and yet rivertown will not send them over.. Therefore my 1 star review is from a customer standpoint.. Thank you very much.

Not very pleased right now. For the only emergency clinic in town it leaves much to be desired. Have to take injured cat back out to car and then told needed to fill out form which I never got. The tech, who was pleasant, said the wait would be hours and gave me a list of vets to attempt to see tomorrow which is a Saturday. The cat is limping and could have a broken bone but was told to crate rest it whatever that means. The place is beautiful on the inside but what good is an emergency vet clinic that doesn't want you or your pet inside? I just pray that I never have to take either of my other two cats there.

I took my pup right at 6pm when they opened, while my vet couldn’t see my baby until 2 weeks which is ridiculous they recommended me to go to Rivertown. I understand my baby has a ear infection and it’s not an emergency I get to Rivertown right when the open and was told it would be a 4-6 hour wait because my dog wasn’t dying and I could go to Auburn, Warren Robins, Albany etc. all the other dogs in front of mine may have to be admitted. Well I hope all the 3 people in front of me their babies weren’t dying because you had a wait. Ridiculous. Refuse your pet medical treatment. Could have said hey we know your concern when we get closer to treating we can call and you can bring back her back up here and would love to take a look at her. We all know about karma.

My parents came in with their diabetic cat and she was going downhill and needed emergency treatment. They were given a debit card and credit card and refused to run them for the $600 retainer to treat the cat. Made my parents leave with their cat and go to an ATM and get cash and then when they got back refused to treat the cat because it was after 11 am even though they were there long before 11 am originally. Staff is rude, heartless and useless. I don't see how people this cruel decide to work with animals. Place needs to be shut down and staff should never work with living beings of any type ever again.

Truly amazing veterinary hospital! They go over prices for procedure before hand so you are prepared for it! The hospital is very clean, they have very knowledgeable staff and amazing doctors!

Dr. Taft and all of the staff members were friendly and helpful! I was very grateful for the way they cared for my dog. They keep you informed of all costs involved along the way. Just couldn’t ask for anything better when you need a vet after hours.

I am responding to the doctor's comment regarding Gage Vanhousen"s statement and correct of what my granddaughter had asked for. First of all I apologize for Gage's comment BUT read on and see why. Yes the dog had parvovirus and we all were heart broken. My granddaughter did buy the parvovirus shot at Tractor Supply BUT didn't know two more were needed. Yesterday morning my granddaughter was told her dog was doing great to pick up her dog at five a.m. and all she asked was a little more time because she had one more room to disinfect. She was told No because she was told the facility is closed on Tuesdays and so she called me to ask if I could keep the dog until the chore was done. A simple request was asked no arguing or further harm by either party. Later in the evening she called again and was then told the opposite her dog was in critical condition and she still needed to pick up the dog at five a.m. Instead she was accused of harassment and if she does not pick up her dog she will considered a abandoned dog and will be euthanized. I cannot help if the doctor was fed misinformation that was far out of character. Neither made threats of any sort, was not harassing or being demanding. Why the earlier call her dog was good then later was told critical condition? Thankfully we found another clinic to have her dog checked and the veterinarian said the process has been done very well and we are all grateful BUT writing the drama on the records was highly unnecessary. The care of the dog was great just the bs drama was highly unnecessary and even worse to be careless to write this all on the records...smh

Our 9 lb 18 week old Cavapoo was bitten by a snake while being walked on a leash tonight. Her health went downhill fast. We called ahead to let them know we were otw and what happened. The receptionist listened calmly and talked us through our panic. Our vet office- even tho they were closed- sent the emergency vet our dogs records while we were in transit. They had already received them when we arrived and were ready to help us. They were attentive, professional, caring and understanding from the moment we arrived until our girl was stable. They answered all our questions and were knowledgeable, professional and well educated. Also the facility was clean and nice. I’m so thankful for them being open. Idk what we would have done without their quick expertise.

At approximately 930pm on Sunday, 01 AUG 2021 this clinic refused to provide life saving treatment to my innocent dying animal because I had previously left a negative review of their business practices. I did not curse or raise my voice to them at anytime. I was respectful in my words. However, I did challenge the transparency of their business practices. I did this, while under duress and extreme stress and still maintained respectful tone and physical distance to ensure that my words would be heard and that my tone and demeanor could not be used against me. I have attached a picture of their response. In their response they implied that my negligence contributed to my animals condition. This is simply not true. I brought my animal in as soon as it was clear her condition was not due to some simple stomach bug. What follows was my original post. “I’ll start by saying that the staff is very kind and are helpful. However, the process from beginning to end feels like a racket. They don’t tell you costs upfront. They release them in 3 phases. $200 just to be seen. Then you pay for bloodwork. An additional $347. After that they tell you the treatment. It’s predatory. They know there are no other vets open and that people love their animals enough to just pay up. This should be illegal. I should also clarify that by “they” I mean whomever designed this process and set these prices.”

My pitt mix Stella tripped on a rug and instantly had her back leg dangle and could put no weight on it. We couldn’t get into our regular vet that day and went to see Rivertown when they opened that evening. Dr April and everyone on staff was kind and helpful and loving to my pup. After diagnosing her with a torn CCL and meniscus they provided us with meds and contact info to an orthopedic surgeon in the area for follow up. They even sent the X-rays and report to the surgeon and our regular vet. We are so thankful Rivertown is in the area. We have highly recommended the clinic and the vets and staff there more than once to other friends who need emergency care

I don’t wanna say they only care about money but it certainly felt that way. They know you’re scared for your pet and worried. You’d think $200 would cover more then just walking in the door.

Thanks for nothing! This place ONLY cares about your money!! Save your money because all they’ll do is X-rays and blood work and charge your over $800 then send you in your merry way and your dog dies within 12 hours!!!!! Horrible people! They do no care about your baby they care about money, that’s all they want to know when you first get there “ how are going to pay” first question our of their mouth!!! You’re upset and this is the only emergency after hours vet available within 30 miles so you go praying they can tell you what you can do to help your dog or that maybe they can help your dog , NOPE!!! They can charge you for nothing!!!

These after hours clinics usually bring out the worst in everyone including the owner of a pet that's sick and in severe pain, but I'm grateful how patient and understanding the Rivertown staff was with me. I guess like most people I was frantic but they remained calm and were very understanding, nurturing and let me vent. Everything turned out okay and Im glad they are here for when I need help like this again.

The ratings doesn't do this place any justice. Staff was nice and caring all the way through. It was clean and spotless. I couldn't ask more out of an emergency vet

Staff was very knowledgeable, patient and kind with both myself and my pet. Prices are fair, and they inform you ahead of time what to expect to pay. I highly recommend.

So apparently I’m a cyber bully. You don’t have to be a patient to review. I have heard several terrible stories about how your business uses family members aka pets to bully their families for money. If anyone is a bully it’s your business! And I hope people keep reviewing and I hope when people look up this vet they check the negative reviews. Disgusting human beings.

My little Yorkie Milo was rushed to Rivertown Emergency Vet this past Memorial Day weekend with a rattlesnake bite to his back leg. The vet and staff were very quick to get treatment started and that saved Milo’s life. Rivertown Emergency Vet was always upfront with the cost of treatments and kept me informed of everything they were doing to help save Milo. The vet was always upfront about Milo’s condition and I was never given false hope. They allowed me to call several times a day for an update, as I was out of town. When I returned, they allowed me to visit at 9:00 at night. Everyone was friendly, professional, accommodating and kind. I can’t thank them enough for saving Milo’s life! ????

Rivertown saved our dog Phoebe from Parvo. She would stay at a regular Vet during the day and at Rivertown ar night and on the weekends. If they were not there then Phoebe would not have survived the weekend. Thank you for being there as we have our baby home.

Our momma cat can't urinate. We tried calling before driving over from Phenix City and were told that the phone number couldn't accept calls. We drove there and were told they wouldn't do anything for her and we would just have to wait and call our regular Vet the next day. Not being able to urinate can kill an animal..........
