I cant say enough good things about this business and the people who work there. They took care of my families animals as a child and they are now take care of mine. The treatment your furry friend will receive is top notch and they have always charged me a reasonable price every time. I really cant recommend this business enough.

I was helping a rescue, who boarded a dog there. That dog was vaccinated, but without thinking I let my own unvaccinated dog play with her, and my dog caught kennel cough from her. When I called the office, they said that there was no kennel cough in their kennels. It's possible that they just didn't know about it yet, but there definitely was. I do know that many people around town really love this office because they provide low cost services. However, personally, I would not use this vet. They don't have the ability to take x-rays, which means that you'll wind up spending more money at another veterinary office if you need x-rays. Overall, the staff has been very friendly and helpful, but they're just not the right fit for my pets and me.

Athens Animal Hospital has served me n my family for 9 years or more, with a variety of animals. I've always received great service and when I couldn't afford a service, the Veterinarian has always taken time to give me great home care instructions. I won't go anywhere else as long as this clinic is available.

Favorite vet I have ever visited. Friendly, experienced, and true pet lovers.

Love the team here! Everyone is sweet and efficient and helpful. My dog is a really nervous boy and they make him feel safe and comfortable.

I visited this vet clinic for the first time last month with our new kitten. The experience was GREAT! They were prompt with my appointment, great with my animal- and they practice the GOLDEN RULE and it’s clear. You’ll see! Now they’ve seen our two dogs for their annual exams. We will not go anywhere else. Best vet in town!

We've been seeing Dr Cown with all of our dogs for 20+ years. He and his staff are very knowledgeable, kind, and they’re the most reasonably priced vet anywhere. We'll always use him.

Cannot recommend this place enough - I quit going to My other vet in town because every time I went and my dog (who is a rescue and spent 6 months separated from his sister in Animal Control) acted nervous/anxious they made me feel horrible about it, almost annoyed that they even had to deal with him. I had the exact opposite experience at Athens Animal Hospital. Very kind, very personable, taking Covid protocols very seriously, and cater to a diverse group of people. They handled my dog beautifully and their prices are very fair. 10/10!!! Thank you guys!!

Got my cat in quick, everyone was kind, wearing a mask, and the price was less than half of what I was expecting.

having recently moved back to athens, i had no knowledge of which vets had good reputations or bad. my Yorkie was obviously not well so i did a quick search and called this animal hospital. they took us in very quickly and brought maxx out after a short time. the office visit along with medications totaled under $75, and, the diagnosis was on the money. within 2 days my dog was running, jumping, and eating like nothing had ever been wrong. this hospital is now our primary vet for all current and future pets. i would recommend them to anyone in search of an animal doctor.

With current Covid conditions we were not allowed inside the office. Even so; we had quick and friendly service (with an appointment) for our first checkup with our newly adopted kitten!

Would love to give Athens Animal Hospital a big thumbs up!! We rescued a beagle 14 years ago from an animal shelter and at first she tested positive for heart worms so we took her home just to make her last days as enjoyable as possible. As she continued to go down hill more could not bare to watch her get any worse. Dr. Cown had already gave us medicine to help with the heart worms but thought they were not working. I was heading that way and meeting my wife there and had already said that I wanted him to meet me at my truck to do the final goodbye shot, but he said not until he could do more tests. Turned out that she just had so many other types of worms that she tested positive for heart worms. He put her on new medication and within days that beagle was a new puppy dog!! He gave us 14 more years with her and treated her each visit as if she was his own dog. Today he helped us with her crossing the rainbow bridge and could not have had a more compassionate person to do it. My hats off to him and this wonderful place!!

I just adopted a kitten and brought him back to Chicago from Athens. Athens Animal Hospital made everything so easy. Little Stan got his first 2 rounds of vaccines here. The staff was extremely friendly and had a lot of availability for appointments. They also made sure I had all the documentation I needed. I wish I lived in GA just so I could keep them as my permanent vet!

We love this place! Their prices are so reasonable and they do not charge for rechecks. When we had to bring our dog to the emergency room and they told us that they thought our dog was dying, the next day we brought our dog to the Athens Animal hospital and they told us that he just needed a small in-house procedure and saved us hundreds of dollars and our dog's life! We cannot say enough about the expertise and care that our pets have received here. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

This place is absolutely horrible. Do not bring your pets here for anything. They do not let you inside the facility. And they do nothing for your per while inside. You wait outside and about 30 mins later they'll walk out with a bill and expect you to pay it. Meanwhile they did nothing for your animal. Im currently in touch with city hall and the BBB to get this location shut down.
