Very professional and good interviewing process on both sides.. our sweet dog was exactly as promised. The kind woman who fostered her had clearly taken great care of her and knew her well.. we appreciated getting her bed and her toys too! My son is beyond happy to have found his best friend.

I was nervous reading the reviews of this place but had a great experience. I submitted my application and within a day someone called to interview and get the vet records for my existing dog. Later that week I was put in contact with the foster who reached out in a couple days. Kris (the foster) was great setting up time to meet and answering all our questions! We set up the home inspection the next day which was quick and easy. Overall the whole thing took maybe 2 or 3 weeks and we are loving the new addition to the family! Kris did an amazing job taking care of him and made our whole experience so great!

Wonderful and caring taking pets whose owners have departed from life! Took care to make sure the pets were looked over at a vet before adopting them to another loving family! Thank you! Our grieving process was made easier by your loving hands making this service available!

I believe that I was turn down to adopt a dog because of my age. I am a young 72 and my husband is an active 75. I feel this is against us. Yet they will give a puppy to someone that will give back a grown dog later. Does not seem right.

Very disappointed in this rescue. They made me feel like I should have lied on my application to get a puppy. They are placing dogs on what paper looks like instead of how the animal will really be treated. We would have made a great home for a puppy. Their loss. We will go elsewhere and not recommend them in the future.

I was looking to adopt a cat. I emailed them asking a question about a cat and someone emailed me back saying she would forward the question to the cat team and they would get in touch with me to answer it, but I never heard from them. The cat got adopted. Several weeks later I emailed them again about another cat and again never got a response.

While I have not adopted a pupper with them yet they have been fantastic at reaching and following up after I submitted an application. The foster that reached out after that was kind and thorough!

Very unprofessional! We were next in line to adopt a certain puppy. The foster parents brought the dog to our house and told us it would be a great fit. So we introduced the dog to our kids. Everything went great. We talked about the next steps for adopting the puppy and the foster family even offered to watch the dog while we went on vacation in the following weeks! Next day we were told they went with another family. The foster families are not trained and I was 100% lied to. The dog ended up going to their friends. The director wouldn’t even return my phone calls. Story has a happy ending because we eventually ended up with a sweet puppy (not through angels among us!) who loves our amazing backyard and our family.

We recently adopted 2 kittens from AAU. They were fostered by Shane and her twin teenage daughters. Our cats are the sweetest, funniest, and cutest babies. Their foster family did a wonderful job socializing them. Love AAU.

My wife and I have been thinking about adopting a third dog to join our family, after having lost our 11 year old dog/boy back in October. We’re stereotypical millennial ‘dog parents’ and treat them with love as if they were our own children. I told my wife today to go ahead and set up a meeting (meet and greet) with Rescue Angels of GA for the dog she saw and thought would be perfect for our family. She’s been going through a lot the last few months, and I wanted to show her that I appreciated her and use this as a gesture of respect and love for her. Letting her know that this profile was a great pick for us and that we were ready to try to fill the hole left in our pack. First, the employee, Sharita Grant, immediately called my wife out for having a Puerto Rican cell phone number and saying that they don’t adopt to PR. Your cell phone number has no reflection on anything, as numbers no longer change when you move. It would be ridiculous in this day and age to say or make any assumption regarding someone’s cellphone number. Second: the questionnaire questions are designed to paint you out as a horrible dog parent if you dare think about putting the dog down. The profile stated that the dog was 1-2 years old, and the only answer for putting them down if they developed an expensive medical condition was something along the lines of “Put him down (because he’s old).” We’re living in a pandemic, where people are losing their jobs and livelihoods, in an economy where the middle class is continuously being erased. “Expensive”, subjective as that is, may or may not be something that people can afford. And living a possible extremely lowered quality of life at great expense isn’t always the best choice. Third: Sharita continued to be unhelpful and short with my wife via email when she either questioned her regarding my wife’s answers or answered my wife’s questions regarding the questions. Ms./Mrs. Sharita Grant cost Rescue Angels of GA our patronage and the possibility of homing a dog in need, due to her lack of professionalism. We will instead visit a pound or shelter in person and locate a dog that’s truly in need and is perfect for joining our pack. 5/24 EDIT: We adopted a dog from Best Friends Animal Society in ATL, down from where we live, on 2/27. We showed up, talked with the coordinators for 5-10 minutes, they brought out the dog they thought would fit what we were looking for, and we decided immediately, and adopted him within 30 minutes. He’s 1.5 years old, amazing, highly intelligent, extremely fetch oriented, and full of energy; perfect as a new addition to our pack. The difference in professionalism and service between the Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and Best Friends Animal Society blew my mind.

We tried to adopt a 10-14 month old puppy, from Angel's, that had been found in a hoarder house, and badly mistreated. He had extensive mental issues with people, and other dogs, but seemed to love children. We found that the foster parent was very caring, patient, but a little obsessive in trying to rehab this adorable fur baby, and was going to need weeks, possibly months to get him to where he could be adopted and finally taken home. We had lost one of our babies, at 14 yrs old, and wanted to find a companion for our 5 yr old female asap. The Rescue, and Adoption time was going to be lengthy, and we opted to go to the Athens, GA Humane Society. They are absolutely wonderful, we found our new puppy, have had him, as our own, for 2 months now. He's a perfect fit for our female who is like a surrogate mom, and he has helped fill the void we were feeling. Angel's is a very dedicated and caring rescue group, but if you're wanting to adopt your new addition in a more rapid manner, suggest you go to a Humane Society, or other rescue group.
