Very expensive and Very unprofessional! I booked an appointment ahead of time, I get come to the appointment on time after a hour drive to know been told that my appointment has been taken!! It’s a waste of time

I have been bringing my dachshunds to Dr. Hodge's practice for many years, notably at Harbourside Animal Hospital for @7 years. All care and customer service has always been excellent in every way. I would highly recommend this practice!

Absolutely no parking. I don't understand why anyone would come here. Not worth the frustration of driving down town.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had an absolutely horrible experience at this vet in the short 2 months time my dogs were patients here. I have no idea who the male vet is who is pictured on their facebook page because I only ever dealt with women in the office, one of whom stated she was a vet. I had plenty of issues with her from something as simple as her not wanting to call in a prescription, wanting me to leave work to come pick up a prescription that could have easily been called into the pharmacy (spoiler alert, after much arguing, she did and they filled it no problems at all even though she claimed Publix would "give her a hard time") to the same vet telling me that if my dog wouldnt eat his Rx food I should starve him until he did. Really? REALLY?! Disgusting. My most recent problem is that I have, over the past year+ tried to receive the medical records for shots and blood work from those 2 months and despite being repeatedly told that they would email them, they do not. I even had my new amazing vet ( Bayshore Animal Clinic-its much farther away for us considering we live on Harbour Island but they are organized and actually CARE about animals) try to get their records and Harbourside doesnt send them or lies and says they are sending them. Please, take your animals somewhere that actually cares about them and about your experience.

I'm sure that this is very good vet but if your having an EMERGENCY NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE THEY DO NOT TAKE WALK IN because they only have one vet in office. Just letting everybody know it's not a walkin emergency hospital.

Great experience! The staff were very courteous and helpful with me and my pet. Showed genuine interest in my pet and his health and wellbeing. We all definitely be coming back!

We had a great experience here at Harbourside Animal Hospital. The entire staff is very friendly and also very accommodating. I was searching for a vet close to home when I found them. I was able to drop my pet off, had him bathed, examined, brung back up to date with shots and medication and picked him up after I ran some errands. So convenient. When I arrived I was quickly seen by Dr. Hodge and he explained everything that was done, what was found and what we need to do moving forward. I was amazed at their level of service. I’ve had great vets in the past but Harbourside Animal Hospital has really gone above and beyond.

I don't typically write poor reviews but this unfortunately is warranted. I took my dog here to get his foot checked out because there is a growth that is being irritated when he walks. I expressed that he is very sensitive of people touching his feet because of an experience he had when he was younger and I suggested a muzzle and they agreed. What took place next made me feel uneasy, the woman at the front desk took my dog from me and said, "we'll be back." without explaining to me where or why she was taking him and did not invite me to go with her. Against my better judgement I allowed her to take him because they're licensed professionals and know what their doing. I heard him growl from behind the door and yelp a little bit which I knew was from them trying to look at his feet. They came back out and I don't think the woman in the white coat was a vet, maybe a vet tech or assistant. She proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't let them touch him (which I already told them he would need a muzzle) and suggested to prescribe him trazadone which she mentioned probably wouldn't even do the trick (then why recommend it). I asked if they could sedate him and then reverse it (when I take him to the vet to get his nails trimmed they have to do this so I knew the process). She said because they closed in an hour she didn't want to sedate him and then reverse it and send me home with a loopy dog. I explained I have to do that all the time with him so I am fine with it and she agreed to get me a quote. The quote for sedation, cytology, aspiration, and disposal (not actual treatment) came out to $598. WHAT A JOKE... The primary vet I take my dog to does sedation for $45 and Harbourside quoted me $141 just for sedation. If you do not want to be part of your pets treatment or have the process thoroughly explained then go here. If you want to be up-charged and given treatment plans that they full well know won't work but just want your money, then go here. However, do not go here if you love your pet and work hard to make your money. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the front desk woman was nice and the facility was clean. UPDATE: I took my pup to our normal vet in Palm Harbor and he prescribed an antibiotic and pain reliever which cost $57 and it has all cleared up. So... by not choosing Harbourside I saved $541 - not to mention whatever treatment they would have suggested after getting "results" from the cytology they felt was necessary.

Agree with previous reviews that this clinic is nothing but a "CASH GRAB"! Unnecessary tests and way OVERPRICED services for the standard of care that they provide which is average at best. Will try to strong arm you into using their pharmacy which is a complete RIP-OFF!!! Many better options in the local area, steer clear of this clinic.

Wonderful staff and service, we have been with HSAH since our dog was a puppy and have been very pleased.

I was referred here by a friend who had been taking his dog to Harbourside for a year. The staff was very friendly and I was in & out in no time.

I’ve been bringing my pups here for a few years and have always had good experiences. Both of my dogs have had surgical procedures here that recovered as expected without difficulty and the staff are all super friendly and professional.

Everyone is very sweet and caring here. The Doctors are super friendly and loving with my pets. Harbourside is an amazing animal hospital.

Harbourside Animal Hospital is a fantastic veterinary clinic. Tabatha, in particular, always takes extremely good care of us and our dog. We have had excellent interactions with both Dr. Hodge as well as Dr. Burns. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone seeking care for their animals.
