Continuing to keep my dog's cancer in remission! I love this place! If your dog is in ICU, they sometimes send a photo via text so you can be updated overnight (the time you normally snuggle your dog.) It's a wonderfully nice thing to receive. I appreciate the staff so much!

We are impressed with the kindness and true care their nurse assistants were with our puppy Charlie and with us. DoctorJehn is very thorough and a precise surgeon in Charlie's ligament and knee surgery. Its animal friendly environment and a well kept facility. We have been treated with the best professional care at Capital Veterinary hospital and services.

This Office offers full service veterinary care, in both an Urgent Care format and a more conventional format (appointments with specific vets for individual services). They have many specialists on staff and can address a wide variety of your animal's need. They are open from 10AM to 10PM. I strongly suggest that you call ahead, as they have a very pressing demand for their services, so it can be hectic and crowded, with longer that anticipated wait times. It looks like it would be better towards the end of day. The doctors and staff are highly skilled and very professional, as well as kind and empathetic. If your pet's needs exceed that offered by your regular veterinary office, try these folks!!

Wonderful place for your furbabies

Can’t trust no one more than Capital veterinary Specialists!

The doctors here seem excellent, knowledgeable, and care about the pets. We spoke with Dr. Jill who answered all of our questions and was very kind, after we had a cat stay overnight for monitoring. However, my girlfriend and I have had extremely poor experiences with the reception/admission staff. They made MANY, separate, massive communication errors over several days that needlessly wasted many hours of our time, and added stress to an already stressful situation. 1: They did not communicate to us that a full independent examination was needed for an ultrasound (a reasonable policy) and scheduled that examination 4 hours before the doctor who could perform that ultrasound was even present (and did not inform us of that gap in time until after the exam). Cost:4 hours. 2: They, for some reason, booked with the wrong department on initial check in (surgery instead of internal medicine) causing further delay and confusion. Cost: 2 hours. 3-4: after the ultrasound, we were given a recommendation to keep the cat overnight for monitoring which we accepted, and were told to come in and pay, administer his daily medication, and ask the doctor questions related to the overnight stay, at 7pm. However, the front desk did not communicate to us that the nurses were on rotation at 7pm so could not get us in to administer his meds(for over an hour) nor that the doctor had already left for the day hours earlier. Cost: 2 hours. 5: the next day, on picking up the cat from his stay, at 4pm the time she HAD SCHEDULED AHEAD OF TIME, the front desk checked my girlfriend in so she could pick up the cat, then promptly forgot about her for 1.5 hours. The receptionist who checked her in apparently never told anyone that she was there for the cat, and just let her sit. Nobody called her phone when the 4pm appointment came and went. Cost: 2 hours. We did speak at one point to the patient advocate (a nice older lady whose name I have forgotten) who did earnestly seem to desire change in communication because it is clearly a massive issue here, both internally and with patients themselves. I'm not sure if this is a result of overbooking, I'm not sure that it really matters. At the end of the day I can't say I would recommend anyone take their pet here unless these kinds of things change. I was told the next nearest specialists office that can do these types of procedures is in Gainesville, over 2 hours away. And yet, choosing between 4 hours of driving and 10 hours of sitting in stress on a hard wooden bench; well its not a terribly difficult choice. I genuinely wish the staff the best of luck in changing their systems procedures and habits so these kinds of errors cannot happen.

We have taken two of our pets here and have had a great experience each time. Most recently (a little over aweek ago) our GSD puppy had a severe laceration on one of his legs. We are a family of 6 on one income (while I am in nursing school) so money is tight. We explained this to the vet And they worked with us on a price that was affordable and that provided the best care for our pup. He is healing quickly and back to his playful self. We are forever thankful for the kindness of everyone we met that day and their generosity.

How could you not love Dr drygas. He is wonderful and such a great personality he should be a movie star or something but he's great with the animals as well great with people great with the animals what can I say about him ???? and he has a staff to match

Focused on profit over the pets. I understand as a business they need to make money to continue operations, but demanding a $700 deposit BEFORE a consultation reeks off bad business practices to me. It's clear the inflated prices pay for the extravagant lobby and tvs in the exam rooms. We took our sick cat elsewhere.

Dr. Drygas and his team are amazing. This is a veterinary specialty clinic that rivals a state of the art facility treating humans. We were referred by our local vet in Niceville with our 13 year old diabetic Shiba Inu for a risky procedure to remove her very diseased gallbladder. The procedure by Dr. Drygas was a success and the level of care we and our dog received was amazing. This is the only facility of its kind within hundreds of miles and had we not taken Sadie to them we would not have her. We are appreciative beyond words.

Not good waste of time

Dr Drygas and his team deserve 100 stars. They are the reason that my girl is still RUNNING at 11.5 yrs old after two TPLOs. I only wish I had found Dr Drygas to do the first TPLO, which was done by Blue Pearl. Dr Drygas not only did his best to mend the wreckage left by Dr Ernie and Blue Pearl on my dogs right leg, he did my dogs second TPLO on the left leg 2 years after. Today she bears significantly more weight on the leg Dr Drygas operated on, and without a doubt would be lame in the right leg without his intervention. He is an excellent surgeon and a great human being. I wouldn't let anyone else operate on my dog. He's worth a plane ride, a road trip, whatever it takes to get there if you truly care for your animal and want the best for them.

WOW.....is what I have to say about Capital Veterinary Specialists!!! This place is Amazing! I wanted to know what was wrong with my cat, Anakin, and was not getting answers in my home town so I drove 2 hours away and have NOT been disappointed!! Dr. Drygas is wonderful! He ended up performing surgery on my Anakin with no complications and a fast recovery. I have driven 2 hours there and back 4 times now and will do it again to have Dr. Drygas examine my kitty! If you want the BEST for your pet the BEST is Capital Vetinary Specialists. Dr. Drygas treats your fur baby like his own. A HUGE Thank You to Dr. Drygas and all the wonderful employees at Capital Veterinary Specialists!!

Awsome care and great staff

This practice is great with the animals, especially considering they handle challenging cases. We only have experience with the cat vet, but have been satisfied. It is an emergency vet, so there can be a wait.

Dr. Kevin Drygas did a great job on my dog's TPLO surgery.The office as a whole was also very courteous and professional. Would highly recommend for any orthopedic surgical needs

I came here to meet with a dermatologist for my dog. The people were very polite and professional. The specialist I met with travels from Gainesville to Tallahassee to see patients. The building is nice, though, they are building on. Parking can be a bit interesting but irs not a big deal. I was thoroughly impressed with the knowledge level and care given to my dog by the doctor and assistant.
