Absolutely disgusted with the treatment I received. I came in for a simple nail clipping for my fur baby, and without a word she KICKED my two year old across the room!!!!. Horrible service

Please, please, please, if you take your furever friend here, go get a second opinion before doing any treatment or giving your loved one any medication from this place. They did not run proper test on a dog and gave the dog a pill that resulted in killing her. This dog was fine before they gave her the pill and every day got worse and worse. She could not keep anything down and when brought to their attention they did absolutely nothing. Then they continued to try to get money from an old invoice when their office “mistakenly” gave the wrong size of food and wanted the money for the right size, after the dog is already dead and they know she died. I would 10/10 not trust what anyone in that practice says.

I had a great first experience here with my dog Charlotte for an appointment, and I would go back for vaccinations, etc. as the doctors are good, However, I had a really negative experience boarding her here. First, the vet tech who came out to get her from the car handed me a clipboard to fill out paperwork and proceeded to open my car door and unbuckle my dog from her harness before getting a slip lead on her. I was trying to tell her to leave her leash on while also filling out the paperwork but she didn’t slow down to listen at all. My dog is a runner/bolter, and the animal hospital is right off of a very busy road. Luckily nothing happened, but it easily could have. Lastly, I provided anti anxiety medications for her nail trim if needed. I specified on both her intake form and an additional note with her food/medications that it was only to be used if necessary. I completely understand them giving her the medication for her nail trim, but they gave her the medication both days she was there. When I picked her up she was almost totally sedated and proceeded to pee our house multiple times because she was so out of it. The worst part in my opinion is that no one ever called me to let me know she was anxious and they were going to medicate her, and no one mentioned anything about it when I picked her up either. No one had any idea if she had been really anxious when I asked. It didn't seem like anyone was "in tune" with what was going on with the dogs or what was being given to them. She was only there for one night, and I would never trust them to board her again.

I have been going to Buck Lake Animal Hospital for years. Dr. Varela and Dr. Anderson are terrific vets, and their staff are top shelf as well. If you are in east Tallahassee and looking for a vet practice, I highly recommend Buck Lake Animal Hospital.

Professional and efficient. Brought our cat for his vaccines, they came out to our car picked him up and returned him within 15 minutes. Also the pricing for flea and tick, etc medications was actually cheaper than online, which was surprising and very convenient. Everyone was very polite.

Great service and knowledge. My pet needed vaccines and we were told the side affects of the vaccines. I thought that was really nice as other places I have been just give out the shots but don't say what to look for if the pet has adverse reactions. We have only been with Buck Lake for a but but they were recommended to us by many residents of Tallahassee. Also Dr. Carl Jehn recommended Buck Lake.

They are amazing! My dog ran off for a couple of weeks with me frantically calling everyone I could think of. Finally finding him at Buck Lake. The people that work there are really nice. I was reunited with my baby today thanks to them. I would recommend them to anyone!

While we briefly left Buck Lake Animal Hospital, it was not because of anything other than convenience. Now that we are back it is so reassuring that they are still the highest quality Vet service in the city. Everyone there is well trained and so compassionate towards the animals. Thank you Buck Lake Animal Hospital for all you do.

Male vet and receptionist show very little compassion and make it difficult to get prescriptions. Have been with them over a year and continuously have the same problems. Many highly qualified vets in the area, I suggest looking elsewhere.

This the best vet team in town. Caring, courteous, and professional. Do your pet a favor and bring them to this vet!
