I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A RUDE TREATMENT. ON THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT I HAD TO LOOK FOR PARKING SINCE THE ONE I PARKED WAS FULL OF DOG MESS. I WAS 10 MIN LATE AND WAS ASK FOR MONEY TO PAY BECAUSE OF THAT 10 MIN. OFFICE MNG TOLD ME TO RESCHEDULE, OR LIVE THE PLACE OTHERWISE SHE WILL CALL POLICE. I TOLD HER THAT I LIVE ONE HR AWAY AND HAD SURGERY ON MY LUNG , WHICH MADE DIFFICULT TO RETURN ANOTHER DAY . DOCTOR ASKED WHY AM I HERE, AND WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL EITHER. I TOLD THEM THAT I SHOULD BE PAYED FOR ALL THE TIMES I HAD TO WAIT FOR A VERY LONG TIME. I DID NOT PAY FOR BEING 10 MIN LATE, AND FEW DAYS LATER WHEN I CALLED FOR APPOINTMENT I WAS TOLD, THAT I'M NOT WELCOME . I FEEL HORRIBLE, AND I DO NOT THINK I EVER FORGET THIS DAY. NOW MY MALTESE DOG AS WELL AS MY FRIEND MALTESE WE FOUND VERY NICE DOCTOR WHITH PROFESSIONAL FRIENDLY STAFF, AND ABOUT SAME COST AS CLINIC OF THE HUMANE SOCIETY. SHAME ON THEM.

Buyer beware and inadequate care... I had been taking my six year old chihuahua mix to the animal clinic since he was six months old. I was always pleased up until the past few years. I was told at his check up a few years ago that he had a fractured tooth and needed it extracted. Since he wasn't in pain, I put the surgery off and he had three yearly check ups after that and the fracture was never addressed by the vet again. I just figured it was a non issue at that point. At the beginning of Covid, it became nearly impossible to reach the clinic by phone. I left numerous daily messages and finally had to go in person to schedule. On October 17th, I noticed what would turn out to be a tooth root access. I was not given an appointment for ten days for a "sick visit "! At this visit with Dr Bui, I was told my dog had TWO fractured teeth that needed to be removed and an abscess that required antibiotics and an anti inflammatory. When I asked why this one old fracture had been missed for three years, she said "what's the point you are trying to make"? At this point I just needed care for my dog. I was given ten days of an antibiotic and Carprofen (anti inflammatory) to use until the surgery which they did not have an opening for one month! I brought him for his pre surgery blood work on November 27th. I was called the day before his scheduled surgery and was told he had an alarmingly elevated liver enzyme, surgery was postponed and he needed an urgent abdominal ultrasound from a specialist. Being on the anti inflammatory could elevate the enzyme but she couldn't be sure. I was the called a few days later by a "vet tech" to inform me his new medication was ready to be picked up. What medication? Dr Bui never mentioned this. She called a couple of days later to say he needed to be on an antibiotic and a liver enzyme medication for one month. They would then repeat labs. No thank you!!!! At that point, I still didn't know what was causing the abnormal lab value and hadn't had the $400 ultrasound appointment. Her condescending and cavalier attitude pushed me over the edge and I grabbed his records and bid them farewell. Through a trusted recommendation, I found Dr. Ronni Tudin at Bee Ridge Veterinary Clinic. From my first phone call to our initial visit, I knew my dog would receive excellent care!!!! A FULL blood panel was done which revealed a perfectly normal panel. The enzyme was elevated from the anti inflammatory!!! His surgery was scheduled and surprise, there was only one fracture! Turned out the second fracture was just an innocent chip in the enamel. Had I not had medical knowledge, questioned and researched everything I don't know where we would be now. Dr. Bui was prescribing medication and ordering a tooth extraction that was not needed!!!! Shame on you Humane Society Animal Clinic for your poor care.

Love the staff and Drs. at the Animal Clinic. They take great care of my cats and dog without putting me into debt to keep them healthy. Dr. Bui was very through and sweet at Owen's yearly check up and showed great concern when it looked like he was having a reaction to his vaccines. Everything turned out great ????

Good place with good people. They do try to upsell a lot of services and products but I guess that's part of the vet game.

Brought my dog here because this place was close by, he could not move his hind legs and was under alot of distress. Was turned away and told they were booked for an entire month and that they could not fit him in as an emergency. Honestly not what I would expect from a place that calls themselves a part of the Humane Society. Definitely not humane or compassionate in my opinion.

very nice staff! Truly concerned for your pet. Go out of their way for you. My sr dog has lymphoma and they thought vaccinations might harm her, so they wrote me letter excusing her from them. Very fair pricing. They wanted to run a test that I couldn't afford at the time so they offered to give me a follow up appointment. They made it my choice to have the tests done though. I am definitely returning!

This is a long sad story.. please bear with me as I am extremely upset and sadden. I adopted a puppy from the humane society in Sarasota a few years ago. They said he had been very ill and almost died. BUT was all better and ready to be adopted. I noticed a little raised area on his back paw and mentioned it to them. The lady said it was fine, it was from the IV’s the had given him. So we took our new pup home. He’s a total joy, my kids and I fell in love with him instantly. As the months went by the area got a little bigger. I took him for his first check up and vaccines a few months later. I mentioned it again. They once again said it was nothing, it was fine. A few more months went by and the area got a little bigger. We went in for the second check up and vaccines. I mentioned it again. The doctor now said it had to be removed. They gave me a price break down of the total cost. At that moment the cost was not an issue, I just want my pup to be ok. About a week after that appointment COVID finally hit us personally. My husband lost his job, a close family member spent 4+ weeks in ICU fighting for her life from Covid and my husband and children all had Covid. Needless to say, I could no longer afford this surgery. I decided to call the Humane Society yesterday and explain my financial situation and the fact the the area on his paw is bigger and his attitude has changed. To my surprise they said the would work out a payment arrangement with me! I was so happy, my boy could get the medical care he needs! I made an appointment for this morning for blood work! They now tell me they can not remove it. This doctor actually send the nurse to talk to me. She was the sweetest, BUT was not able to explain to me why? I asked to talk to him, he told her he was busy. I asked to see another doctor for maybe a second opinion and she was Too busy and leaving at 12. I told her I would wait. She said she asked him to talk to me himself, as she didn’t feel comfortable giving me these news. He refused. I stood there crying in disbelief of this situation. We can not afford a regular veterinarian I told her. I guess my kid’s and I will have to sit and watch the dog’s condition deteriorate and die. All she could say was that she was very sorry! This is unacceptable! The unprofessionalism is beyond horrendous! We are heart broken

Doctor Bui and Doctor Ivan are outstanding....professional, sensitive, empathic and knowledgeable. The clinic manager, Cassie, is also very professional and manages difficult situations with a calm, understanding manner. Receptionists are critical ....that's who patients see first.. they need to be sympathetic to the patients.....another important person is Ashley....she handles animals with compassion and strength and care...I will always bring my animals here...the community needs this clinic and the excellent care that is given to the animals and their owners...thank you for all that you do.

We’ve been going to this clinic for 6 years and they’ve have truly gone downhill. Staff is never available to answer calls and when they do they’re unable to help with any requests. Minimum 4 week lead time to be seen. Only recommendation they have is to call exactly at 8 AM to try and get an appointment and then they will charge an outrageous fee to be worked in as an emergency. Such a shame! In response to the poor reply, then hire more staff. Clearly this business doesn’t care to better their practice from the dozens of poor reviews they keep receiving.

As soon as I get in The door I was helped. The lady behind the desk was very helpful. I've been here before. I decided that Animal Clinic is going to be my dog's NEW Vet's.

Wonderful Clinic! Staff really do care about your pets. I was allowed to go inside the exam room while they gave my cats their yearly check up. Pricing is very transparent as there is a sheet with prices in the waiting room. You know what you will be paying unlike many other clinics. Overall very good experience.
