Shaffer Animal Hospital Oviedo, Florida

I have been a client f Shaffer Animal Hospital for a very long time. They have always taken wonderful care of all my fur babies and have become part of the family. Drs. Gerrish, Patel, and Berelsman have all been a part of my motley crew's care team. I would not trust my two cats and two dogs with any other veterinary clinic. They are caring and compassionate, extremely knowledgeable, and always have the pets' best interests at heart. Thank you to the wonderful team at Shaffer.

I have a 4 year old male Rottweiler and he had a bad experience at loch haven animal hospital and after that didn’t want to go to the vet or put a muzzle on. Since the day I explained to dr. Gerrish his situation and how he didn’t want to put on a muzzle or let any vet go near him, she has found every solution possible to get him vaccinated. Today we went in and after struggling for so long dr.Gerrish and her staff made it possible and didn’t give up on trying to help us. If you have any similar problem or your dog is scared of the vet I 100% recommend Shaffer animal hospital. They aren’t scared of taking care of big dogs and won’t tell you they are aggressive or treat then differently.

First, let me say that the staff at Shaffer Animal Hospital are total professionals. They were able to re-arrange and fit us in, the same day. When we arrived with our senior-citizen dog, who was suffering, they helped us through the euthanasia process. The staff was compassionate and very helpful. It wasn't an easy process, but they helped make a terrible situation more bearable. Kudos to everyone at Shaffer Animal Hospital.

Dr. Jubenville has made all the difference in the world. You can just tell how much she cares and is willing to do everything to help the animals she treats. I never feel uneasy bringing my pet to her as I know she will do everything to make sure he feels safe and gets the treatment he needs. Vets like her make all the difference. I’ll continue to recommend people I meet to Shaffer and her specifically.

The two stars are for excellent doctor Jette and she is no longer working there. Otherwise: I took my cats there for years because of the doctors and the vicinity. Unfortunately this practice became money oriented, and the vets and technicians are overly worked and too busy to talk to pets owners. My cat went there for a whole day to find out he is diabetic! I followed all the vet recommended steps in feeding and giving him insulin shot twice daily.. I took the cat back there for third time for follow up exam and blood test to make sure he’s given the right insulin dosage; they called me after 4 -5 hours to come and pick him up because he was “ upset”. . I did so . The doctor did not see me or talk to me . I received a call from the doctor, upon my request, the doctor mentioned that my cat lost a lot of weight in a fast manner. She recommended to make sure he eats on time before his insulin shots. I called today: 8 days after last visit to the clinic and wanted to speak to the doctor or have any doctor available to call me back when convenient . I wanted to know the reason they want me to bring my cat back for more blood work to exclude any other reason for loosing weight when he was at their clinic 8 days ago for 5 hours and the doctor was concerned about his weight loss! I wanted to know the reason I have to pay for an emergency visit if I want him to be seen the same day or schedule another visit later on and pay a regular visit fee ... No explanation was given for not running the blood test 8 days ago and no willingness to have a doctor return my call when available. I asked for my cat record to be given to me as I am planning to take him and all my other pets to another practice where the Well-being of the pet comes first!

Always got the vibe they care a lot more compared to many vets I been.

I love this place, the people are very nice and very caring. They have helped me out with my epileptics dog more times than i can count. Wonderful staff. All except Debbie, if you're reading this debbie, lighten up. You sound like you hate your job, sound happy for once. Jesus.

Very poor service and how they handle situations with clients. Love Dr Jennifer but poor service on front desk and "manager" side of things. This clinic is also all about the money and not your dog. Dogs paws were hurting so bad she couldn't walk. Front desk said they don't have any spots open until Thursday UNLESS you pay a extra 50$ and we can see you today. They care more about the money then the dogs and it's sad

We could not be happier with Dr. Gerrish and the rest of the staff at SAH. The staff goes out of their way to make sure our dog is comfortable during his check-ups, and during his boarding stays. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a kind and professional vet that is also reasonably priced.

They are very kind and you can tell the love working with and taking care of animals. They also take the time to explain the issue and how to take care of your loved ones.

AMAZING. I have been very happy with the service and professionalism I’ve received from everyone here. But, specifically Dr. Patel has been beyond amazing. She actually remembers you and your pets and is very personable and down to earth. She’s helped me after hours on the phone and is always very quick to follow up with anything I need. I will always recommend them to everyone I know!

Everyone is always very quick to help and friendly. We've been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. You can tell they love animals and are always excited to help you out!

Always on top of your pet's needs. They will proactively call you to remind you of upcoming appointments and shots. Moved out of oviedo for Orlando but I will gladly drive back across town to them as I will only trust them with my baby.
