Dr. Fife and his staff are the best. My daughter’s dog had surgery on Monday, and the care that he received was wonderful. The surgery turned out to be more complicated than expected, and it was handled with skill and compassion. The …

Our rescue dog had an eye issue. Dr. recommended his eye be removed because of partially detached retina but couldn't tell if it was from trauma or a tumor. We chose to have it removed hearing the word tumor. Eye was removed, they never called to check on him until they called with the report saying it wasn't cancer and it was just a blood clot. Felt like we were talked into eye removal to collect money instead of giving us options. When questioned if drops could have helped later for glaucoma, Dr hesitated and said yes. Only giving one start because the girls at the front desk were very nice, other than that this office has terrible bed side manner. Will not recommend to anyone.

Highly recommend to those with pets who have eye issues. My baby had eye surgery. The procedure was a success and the veterinarian and staff are the best. I have all the confidence your pet will be in outstanding care.

I’m mixed with this place. The service is pleasant and friendly. Everyone was nice and they took care of my pup, HOWEVER, they get a little shady when it comes to prices and availability. It cost $195 for a scheduled appointment that includes initial testing. It took 1 month to get in. They also have several emergency slots available for $250 everyday. I’m positive they bank on making you wait a month because a pets eye is generally an emergency. Over the month wait, I almost took these slots twice, which they had available each time I called…but otherwise just wait. I also called about any cancellations and each time there was none available but calling an hour later, they had emergency slots. So I’m gonna say they bet on you taking the expensive appointment. Dr. Fife was a doctor with a general doctor attitude towards humans but was gentle with my dog. He did several tests and explained what was going on. Once diagnosed, which was quick. Immediately, A procedure was recommended or his eye would never heal. The procedure took 6 minutes and cost $275 dollars. Wow. But he HAD to have it done or basically impending blindness. I was explained nothing about how much anything else cost until checkout. Which came to $505. After I paid and scheduled his procedure reevaluation, the office said it would cost another $95 for them to recheck it. OMG. So in 35 minutes, it cost $500 and in theory this practice charged almost $1,000 an hour. That is some pricey medicine. And I wasn’t even explained some of the additional costs like prescriptions and follow-ups. I honestly think any recheck for a procedure done should be included however its their policy to only included if the pet needs anesthesia. What is this bs? I understand that veterinary medicine is a money playground and you can be charged whatever expensive they want, but the cost of a short procedure and the reevaluation NOT included just shows that this practice cares more about money than actual medicine otherwise they wouldn’t gouge so much. Cost and transparency are a huge factor to us consumers and many of us live day to day, so $500 in 30 minutes is insane but will pay it to keep our pet safe and healthy. Which I did.

One of my babies was involved in a fight with another dog and his right eye was severe damage. First time I took him to a different eye doctor and we were very unhappy. I decided to change doctors and that was THE BEST DECISION EVER! I highly recommend this facility, the doctors and staff.

This place truly is amazing. They care about the work they do. Between the nurses, Dr. Fife, and the rest of the staff, they truly are great and keep the pets health and the owner as top priority. When we adopted our boy Shylo from the city, he had a puncture wound which led to him having Glaucoma in one of his eyes. Dr. Fife kindly informed us on this (as the pound didn't know) and advised us on the best steps to take to get Shylo back to a healthy and comfortable state. We didn't realize that he actually was uncomfortable due to the pressure. Dr. Fife took great care of our boy and underwent the procedure for surgery. Shylo recovered great and is running like the happiest dog alive. Thanks to this center for the great pre and post procedure follow-ups and guidance. Highly recommend!!!

Kept going here for my dog's eyes and it became about my dog's blood pressure. Paid over $100 per pop to just check the blood pressure, in and out and $100 per minute in this clinic I guess. The staff and the doctor are nice but the issues I went for weren't being addressed. I guess old dog eye issues such as glaucoma don't have any way to treat or cure. My dog is now completely blind and other than removing her eyes there is nothing to do. I was hoping going to a specialist they could help me help her not lose her eye sight completely but sometimes we just have to accept the passing of time and there is nothing a veterinarian can do.

Love Dr. Fife! Our most recent visit took about a month to schedule because he’s a sole practitioner but I know that’s more of an issue with struggling to find help. Every time we go to VOC, Dr. Fife is able to diagnose quickly and effectively, explain/communicate well, and his staff is well organized, friendly, supportive, and provides documentation quickly and clearly.

VOC and Dr. Fife are incredible. Our 12 year old shih tzu had an ulcerated cornea. Dr. Fife saved her eye. He and his staff are beyond wonderful. They are attentive and compassionate. We highly recommend VOC, if your pet has eye problems.

My dogs eye surgery was okay but I was told post-op to leave the cone in him no matter what. A week and a half later my dog had such a bad infection from the e-cone he developed sepsis and almost died. I suggested they change their post-op insttuctions and was basically blown off. Not even an "I am so sorry". Glad I do not have to go back there.

Great service and care for my pet every time I go. Staff is super friendly and I feel they really care about your pet and any kind of issues that come along. Been coming here for past four years and never had an issue. They take good care of my 15+yr old blind baby. Highly recommend.

Baxter (Yorkie) is only 5, but his diabetes has produced mature cataracts rapidly. He was my mother’s dog, and before she passed away several months ago, I promised her that I would take excellent care of him. Naturally I had to find the best Veterinarian Opthalmologist when Baxter’s vision was increasingly compromised. I had concerns about how his diabetes would effect his candidacy for surgery. He’s insulin dependent and fasting is typically necessary for anesthesia. In addition there’s inflammation and healing concerns to consider. After a consult, and much research on my part, I felt comfortable that his prognosis without the surgery, could be as bad if not worse than the risks that can accompany the cataract removal with implant procedure. He’s so young, I just had to give him a chance. I dropped off a “ho hum” Baxter for surgery... and picked up a spunky boy back to his pre-cataract happy seeing self. As I write this review, we’re still in the first week post-op, but so far so good. It’s very difficult to keep him from jumping and playing, as he is truly ecstatic about his vision improvement. As is his big brother, Winston the Labrador. But it’s imperative to his recovery to do so, and so he spends much of his day on a leash — for now. VOC staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. The clinic runs efficiently, and calls, emails, questions/concerns are addressed swiftly.

Bernie had corneal sequestrum on both eyes. Dr. Fife removed the sequestrum and my cat is healing perfectly. Everyone is very kind and professional, and Dr. Fife is very skilled at what he does. If you have an animal in need of eye care go here!

VOC came highly recommended by neighbors and they fit my cat in quickly as a new patient. I was able to submit her history easily through their online form. Dr Fife provided me with a very detailed explanation of her diagnosis and answered all of my questions. This was very much appreciated, as many of us want to take an active role in our fur babies care and make informed decisions. After only one day of treatment, my cat was already feeling so much better. Everyone was professional, caring and efficient from start to finish. I'm relieved to have found them and definitely recommend them!
