I would highly recommend coming here for animal adoptions! The staff was super helpful and friendly and they clearly love the animals.

My dog snicker is about 5 years old now he lives happy life.

This nonprofit was amazing for helping me find my sweet baby puppy! They had beautiful land and really tended to all of the animals there. The owner was very attentive and answered all of my questions quickly, and I love how they make sure to hold the puppy you want instead of having to race for any puppy. I would definitely get any more pets here!

We adopted from Starting Over Animal Refuge, May 2021. The whole adoption process was easy and Melissa was so amazing through the whole process. Our puppy, Truffle is 6 months old now and has completed our family. Truffle has an amazing temperament. Great with kids. We have four boys ages ranging 14 to 1yrs old. He's so playful. Also Truffle has been the easiest puppy training we've ever experienced. He's fully potty trained and knows sit, stay, lay down, and come.

Melissa over charges ($500) for sick puppies that she basically gets off of craigslist. Unfortunately I did a more in depth look at her & her so called refuge after I got my puppy. Fortunately for the puppy I adopted I have decades of experience with how to get & keep them healthy. The so called contract that we both signed doesn't give any information about where or which vet Melissa gets the vaccines or meds from. It was also stated that the puppy "might" have every worm known & giardia!! She sent us home with a dose of dewormer...which did absolutely nothing. Being a responsible pet owner I took him ASAP to my vet and he still had hook worms & tested positive for giardia...hopefully this poor puppy doesn't have any life threatening illness or issues due to this. Because he still isn't completely healthy after a month of owning & care for him. Two months and the puppy I got from this place is till sick with worms & giardia. This person should be locked up in a mental institution & her refuge shut down! DO NOT ADOPT ANY KIND OF ANIMAL FROM THIS PLACE!!

Great place wonderful owner doing amazing work and taking fantastic care of all the animals that she takes in and finds homes for.

I couldn't be more impressed and appreciative with this rescue. They were very helpful and patient with me providing me with extensive information on the breed, training and medical knowledge needed for the newest member of my family. Again, thank you so much.

Forever friend found! My husband has been looking for weeks for a dog that can become my service dog one day. I have Multiple Sclerosis and keeping my balance is somewhat challenging. Melissa had a black and white pyradoodle puppy. He is adorable!! The whole experience was great. Starting over ranch is on a big property. She has watch dogs outside that were excited to see visitors. Our new puppy is healthy and happy.
