My family dog was in the was severe pain I never seen before in animal. At 6am I could not find a vet on short notice this was the only place that would take my family pet that was in such distress The staff quickly check my dog and treated her with something to give her some relief. I will never forget the care and compassion family received form Clay Animal Hospital

I love this Vet! She's so knowledgeable & caring. Both of my Jack Russell Terriers love her, too. Her staff is cheerful, kind, caring & great with patients, as well.

The sweetest people to have take car of your pets. Always understanding and helpful. We recently had to put down our beloved 13 year old dog and the way they helped us through this tough time was nothing more than remarkable. They even took the effort to take a print of her paw and take a snipped of her hair. Just amazing car and love for animals.

(This is my original post - see below for updated post, which changed my rating from five to three stars.). I saw Dr. Niehaus today. She was very kind and caring to me and my Animal who had to be rushed in for care. I go back in two weeks, for follow-up, and I made a point of seeing her. I have seen Dr. Sue a number of times, and also feel she is a good vet as well. I am happy with this facility. They are drug conscientious, have thimerisol free vaccines - i.e., mercury free. They have state of the art equipment. All the staff is very nice and helpful. Thank you very kindly for taking good care of my pets. I love them deeply, and good, quality care is hard to find. Thanks for the quality care you show me, my animals and OPPs (other people's pets). ???????????????? (Updated review.) I was recently at this facility again, as I have multiple pets. I appreciate that this place does have good, modern equipment, skilled staff, and clean facility. What I don't like about this practice: 1. Don't take my animal in the back automatically, without telling me why, or telling me what you're doing - things that I should have some say as my pet's caretaker, and to be made aware of, and being charged for. I have the right to choose and make informed decisions. 2. Do not give my pet injections, which are irreversible, without discussing with me, and getting my informed consent...and the opportunity to choose what vaccines, and manufacturers of such, I prefer. (I prefer the TM (thimerisol-free/mercury free) rabies vaccines.) 3. There are exam tables in each room - please utilize these tools - that's why you installed them, right!? Taking my animal in the back does not allow me the comfort level I prefer. Animals are sensitive creatures, and so are their people. They don't need to be fearful of the vet's office. Taking them away from me, and doing who knows what (teaching students, perhaps?) with/to my animals is not appropriate, in my opinion, for the most part. 4. You took x-rays of my animal and never showed them to me, failed to review with me, but charged me handsomely for such. I also asked, at the front desk, for you to mail me a copy on disk. I received nothing for my money - though money is not the issue, it is a commodity we all understand. I don't really know if you even took x-rays. (I will dispute this cost with your office.) 5. Sometimes I feel like you're not paying attention. I do think you're a good vet, but there are areas in which I believe you are remiss, thus the reason for this review. If it happens to me, on more than one occasion, it happens to others. This review is for everyone's benefit... especially our animals. I like you - and I care about your practice, because I think you can excel if you apply yourself. You have a habit of seeing a rash on the underside of my animals, and exclaiming, "That's staph! You need antibiotics." No, you failed to listen, and practice good medical deduction. My dogs, some of them, have skin allergies - just like people. Skin infections may be staph, but not necessarily, and scrape biopsy is really the only way to know for sure. I shared with you, as I have in the past, allergies - Benadryl tablets and aloe vera juice cleared it up within a day, 1-2 applications. Ye of little faith in G-d's medicines. 6. Do not take it upon yourselves to register my pet's rabies tag to your practice. I asked why this was being done, and I was told because you're our vet. Don't do that! You're not the pet's owner, and G-d forbid something happened that my animal got lost, I am the one who needs to be contacted 24/7...not you, except in emergency. 7. Your prices - some are reasonable and normal...some are higher than necessary, in my opinion. High markup on Rx medicines, some of which are over the counter, or available elsewhere at substantial savings. Please be mindful that as much as you like money/compensation for your services and supplies, I like getting a fair and reasonable cost. Many people are on budgets. Thank you.

They love your pets just as much as you do. You can call the office for questions anytime, the entire staff is happy to see you and your pet. They become another part of your family as they care for your animals from the first visit to the last. I would recommend them to anyone.
