My Kitty was sick with a high Fever in Dec, unfortunately there wasn’t any available appointments for this day and I was referred to an emergency clinic as he was in critical condition. I took him to the Emergency Vet that was recommended. …

Above and beyond. Jennifer who spoken with me over all the phone calls was so nice and sounded like the their vet office cares for their animals and New patients they haven’t seen - all of their staff and vets seemed so caring - I really felt like I felt my cat in good hands. Very happy I went to them. Definitely will be going back in the future and would recommend for sure.

I am so happy I found this place. Everyone is amazing and they took such good care of my new kittens after they both got ill shortly after adoption. I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff! I am so grateful for all of the guidance and kindness I received from the entire staff at scratching post!

Sounds like my anger was vented on the wrong person and I apologize.....I thought he understood my wishes but thats not your fault. They encourage to have your pet spayed and neutered but it's not easy at these prices! What's important is my little kitty is home and doing Great! Thank You you for that....

This was our first visit to the Gulf Coast Scratching Post . We were very impressed with staff and Dr. Norrell! Everyone was very professional, kind, and caring. This a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a top notch cat hospital.

Outstanding cat care!! My first experience with them was amazing from start to finish. I highly recommend bringing your feline friends to their care! I know I'll be back for any future appointments and care.

Had to wait 37 minutes in the parking lot to retrieve my cat - paid for the extra service of the microphone and it did not work - and they did not return her toys!

They are knowledgeable and reliable. Just a little bit pricey. You pay for what you get. They are the best.

As happy and excited to interact with my cat as I am! You cannot find a better vet for felines. Whereas other vets are more comfortable treating dogs, GCSP focuses solely on cats and provides the experience and care every kitty deserves.

Dr Knorrell and staff are the best with your kitty!! They also work well and understand specialty breeds like Sphynx and Bambino. They always joke about keeping our Rupunzel! We trust them totally with our girls! Thank you all!

We are new to North Port and I needed my cat to have a check up. I just happened to drive by their sign on Toledo Blade a few weeks ago and decided to give them a try. They are doing mostly curb side appointments with a couple in-person daily. The quality of care my kitty received from them was great. They were running a little behind and gave my cat a free pedicure because of it. I thought that was a nice way to make up for it, although I didn’t feel like I had to wait much longer than going to a doctor normally. Dr. Norrell called me to update me as to what they did and their determination. She was very thorough with me. I really appreciated that. I highly recommend them for your kitty.

Dr. Norrell and Tim (and the rest of the team) are great! I have 2 cats (3 until recently) and the staff treats all my pets as if they were their own. They know me when I call, make visits and med pick ups easy and stress-free and none of my cats mind visiting the vet. I trust them completely for all my cats’ needs, even claw trimmings. As a pet owner what more could you ask for?

I located this place before even moving to the area and knew that I wanted to take my kitties there! The professionalism and super gentle approach even won my skittish little ones over! They have great safety features in place with COVID and I cannot say enough about the fantastic Dr who came out afterwards to speak to me and all of the staff! I'm so sorry, I'm terrible with names...but I also love the fact that they service emergencies during business hours! Just amazing!! Found my new cat vet! Paws down!!

As usual, I love my vet. Top quality service even as we continue dealing with pandemic protocols. Fair and transparent pricing. Kind and compassionate employees.

We used GCSPCH and Dr. Norrell, a USDA licensed vet, to complete the import requirements to get our cats to Japan. Firstly, Dr. Norrell is such an amazing veterinarian and she is so incredibly caring and wonderful with the cats she cares for. No other vet has had the kind of relationships with our cats that she has. Secondly, Japan is notoriously the most difficult country to import animals into, which all of us were aware of going into our appointments. Unfortunately, much of her administrative staff is problematic. It took us two months to get the appropriate paperwork from the admin assistant Tim, as every time we requested the paperwork, he emailed us the incorrect documents. He also told us that he would get us a report of our cats medical histories in November of last year, which we never received. We had him lose our appointment for their health certificates (a document that must be issued within 10 days of the cats arrival in Japan and must also be endorsed by the USDA APHIS office) that he booked us for three weeks prior, so when we showed up for the cats appointment, we weren't on their schedule (which goes to show, if you don't receive an appointment reminder call the day prior, be sure to contact their office). Thankfully, Dr. Norrell understands how important and time sensitive the certificates are and Tim rescheduled us for two days later and Dr. Norrell had the staff come in early that day to ensure that our certificates were completed in time for us to drive to Gainesville to have the documents endorsed. She even completed additional forms A, C, and AC, when normally she would have only completed 7001, because we asked for them. When we left the office, we realized that we were missing one original rabies certificate for each cat, and we called the front desk and spoke to Darla, who, after we explained what we needed, seemed aggravated with us and hung up on us without saying goodbye. In the end, we managed to get all of the documents we needed signed and endorsed and our cats are now safe and sound in Japan. Dr. Norrell really goes above and beyond to help her patients in any way that she possibly can. I think if you are just needing routine and emergency cat care, this is the best vet clinic that you'll find around. The import process was stressful for everyone involved and I think they all did the best they could, and we are grateful to everyone for that, but some of the staff could be more attentive.

The Staff and Dr were very nice and professional. I was late for my appointment and both my cat and I were quite stressed out. They accommodated me and were able to still take care of her. I would definitely recommend them!

Staff is friendly, they treated my pet with more care than most vets I've been to. This place is also very affordable comparative to the level of care provided.

Took our very sick cat (diagnosed with mycoplasma infection) to the GCSPCH in December, right around Christmas. After literally calling 15 other vets in our area (Venice) and begging them to see him, this establishment was the only place that would accommodate giving me an appointment. "We never turn away a sick cat" is what the receptionist told me. Very professional and passionate about their work. They are now our go to vet and we have been recommending them to everyone! Great job!!

I absolutely recommend Dr. Norrell! Her staff has always been professional and very attentive. I had gone to several vets before her, and she was by far the best. She was always honest with us, and she genuinely cared. Unfortunately my sweet boy (my bengal) recently passed away. I reached out to her and thanked her for all that she had done.. she even sent me a card signed by everyone.. very thoughtful. If I ever got another cat or someone asked me where to go, 100% recommend Gulf Coast Scratching Post!

Beware of the assistant Tim! He is rude and literally argues with patients. The veterinary is great but dealing with her incompetent, rude, impatient condescending assistant Tim is just unnecessary stress! He literally yells at you when …

Dr. Norell and her staff were very knowledgeable and caring. Our scaredy cat got sedation for her exam which allowed them to do a thorough examination and get labs without an all out cat fight
