We took my small yorkie in for a pain in her side. They took her inside to "give her a shot". They cut her nails without consulting with us, which they should have because she gets extremely stressed with nail cutting and we would have said no. They claimed that she was perfectly fine and behaved well, which I know is impossible knowing how my own dog gets. They next day she woke up limping and in pain. I thought maybe a nail was cut a little too short but it has been months and her leg is still out of place with her hip and she still limps. They refused to ever take responsibility for it but it doesn't take a genius to put together the fact that 2 very large men holding down 1 tiny, old, very stressed dog is what caused it. They are not gentle with your small pets and apparently do things without asking the owner. I wouldn't recommend

Great doctor! For years we have placed the well-being of our pets in the hands of Dr. Santamarina. No other vet we have ever dealt with has had the vast experience, professionalism, and caring nature as he. We recommend Dr. Santamaria wholeheartedly! Truly he and his staff are Miami's best.

I have been taking my cats there for years I wish I would’ve known them before that I would’ve taken all my other cats before they passed years ago before I knew they existed... I love the doctor and the staff there they’re caring and they don’t believe in sleeping the animals none unless it’s necessary I’ve had a couple of cards that the doctor have saved in different situation.. I will not take my cats anywhere else but there I have a diabetic cat that I inject insulin every day and the doctor is lowering his Dose... I have an old cat and I didn’t think he was going to make it and the doctor injected him B12 and an IV and ever since he came back more than two weeks ago he’s been eating like a little hog and drinking water yes he’s kind of weak because he’s old but he still alive and still ticking.... so I recommend this doctor at Tamiami animal hospital to anyone that loves their pets and they’re part of the family❤️

I had a procedure scheduled for a stray cat that i found . This was scheduled a week in advance . I missed worked that morning to pickup cat from the foster and drive to this clinic. Ince i got there his wife who also manages the front says. They are closed and they are not working today. I dont not understand why i was not callthat morning to cancle the appointment. Said doctor was sick but then i see him walk out of his office. At this point i was very upset because i did not have to miss work. His wife did not w not apologize. It what that how it is. To bad. I tried making my point that they where not professional. Well this lady comes out and strats scream at me . Get into my face. Mind you they have another customer in there watching She then open the frontdoor picks up my carrier. At 1st i thought she was going to throw out my carrier with the cat inside and tells me to leave. At that point i felt she was going to pit her hands on me. Its sad i thought he would be a good vet for all the rescues i find because i see he likes cats but never his wife is not professional and they dont care for people's time. If he did not want to do the biopsy he should of just told me. They are many vetout there.

It’s Monday and they close at 2, I’ve been calling since 12:45. No answer. Completely unprofessional. No call back either.

Dr. Santamarina is a good veterinarian. He saved my kitty life two times. He is very knowledgeable in his profession and also very concern on the costumer feelings and his /her economic situation. Unlikely other veterinarians that only see business and also don't get directly to the kitty problem (like one of the Banfield Pet Hospitals, which I will never go again)... Because of the pandemic, I image that is very difficult to make an appointment like I see in recent reviews. Anyways, I am very thankful and I strongly recommend him.

Great and loving staff.... much caring doctor. He goes out of his way to care for those animals on the weekends!!!!!! All of our kitties have been happily treated here@

Dr John Santamarina is an excellent vet with many years of experience, and a very compassionate human being. I've trusted my pets to him for many years. The staff is humane & very accommodating when scheduling appointments I highly recommend Dr Santamarina.

This place is outstanding the Dr and the staff they are second to none great service and prices. My Rufus love the way he is treated at the clinic.

We can not say enough about Dr Santamarína! He has been our vet like forever-and we have brought him some difficult cases. Not once has he let us down-we love this doctor and his staff.

Brought our cat in because we suspected he had a cold or respiratory infection. Found out we were right! The staff here is very helpful and friendly. The rescue cats in the waiting room were a calming prescence. We got some clavamox prescribed but couldn't afford to do more extensive testing. Thankfully after 1 week our big guy is back to 100% health! If we ever have an issue again, this is where we'll be going.

Dr. Santamarina has been in the same location for over 25 years and has been my vet the whole time even when I move down to Homestead I could not find the same level of care that I had at tamiami Animal Hospital. So now even though I live in Homestead I make the 35-mile trek just to get my animals taken care of by a veterinarian who really cares about animals and their owners. I highly recommend this business.

I brought my lab here for many years. She lived to be 17. The vet understands and targets your concerns. They are very affordable and the service is extremely personalized. The staff gets familiarized with your pets and their history. Also, they assist strays and promote adoption. I have 2 beagles now, and he has them in great shape. I trust them completely.

Incredible and very nice staff and doctors. I also love the variety and quantity of vet clinic cats - them (along with the staff) were a great comfort for my father and I while our dog was getting treated and operated. And he is doing great to this day because of them. :-)
