My dog was bitten at daycare but they told me it was minor. Fast forward two days later and she had a bad infection in her face because of the bite that was nowhere near minor. We had Dr. Luis help us and he was amazing. They took great …

I can't thank the doctors & staff at MVS enough for saving our little Voodoo! I have worked in the veterinary field for many years and Dr. Carter is an amazing ER veterinarian who is honest in her prognosis & fair in what she recommends for diagnosis, she is kind in her delivery & explains all her findings thoroughly during your consult. I cannot thank Dr. Andrade enough for staying late to perform emergency gastrostomy on our naughty boy who ate a part of his toy. I have never met a surgeon who is as quick & precise as she is. I trust her judgment & appreciate her honestly of what she expects during surgery & recovery. Both doctors are great at what they do & I fully trust them & their team to make the right call during the worst time in an owners life. Thank you all so much again ❤ -Denees, Luis & Voodoo Milanes

Took my dog here as a last resort because I was desperate in seeing my fur baby in pain and all other places were full or closed during the holidays . First time was an alright experience, technicians seemed caring and attentive at the time. I found Some women in the front desk to be rude but I ignored it. Second time around, they had recommended a neurologist consult which the neurologist stated nothing was wrong with my dog. When my baby returned to me after her hospital stay, she came back with a hematoma on her back, limping (not leaning on her left front paw), and with ridiculously high LIPA levels that were NORMAL when she first went in. They basically just put a temporary bandaid on your fur baby to take your money and move on. I don’t think they really care about your fur baby as much as they make it seem. Granted, it may not be all employees but still. It breaks my heart to see my baby come out with more issues than when she went in. I hope she recovers from this bad experience. I’m sorry but I don’t recommend this place.

Anywhere else you go will be faster. You don't come here unless it's serious. They constantly tell you an emergency came in. I've been here with my dog literally dying for the last 6 hours. In fact when we came in one vet came over in the waiting room and she told us he looked like he was in pain an he was "extremely dehydrated". Six hours later we were still waiting to see someone, they could have had him on an IV to address the hydration immediately. It why you get an IV the second you walk into a hospital. Another lady here has been waiting for 8 hours. Expect for everyone to get ignored and nothing to happen during shift change just like a people hospital. Update: after 8.5 hours waiting to get my dog a sonogram/ultrasound they tell me the tech has gone home and he won't be back until tomorrow. They very graciously said i could come back at. Are you kidding me!?

Completely unprofessional! There secretary is rude and unhelpful. Go anywhere but here!! If you care for your pet drive the extra distance because this place shouldn't have 3 stars, it should have negative-3. Sad a place like this continues to operate the way it does. From the call to the service absolutely awful!

My mother called them asking to see my dog who is old in age that has a paw that's injured so badly that she can't even walk. She cries as she limps around and screams. They told my mom to find somewhere else to go because she's not dying or bleeding to death. Extremely unprofessional given that she is part of our family and we are willing to pay whatever is necessary to get her the quality care that she deserves.

Our experience was horrible. My Husband took our little chihuahua on 12/27/2021 at 12:51 AM having an allergic reaction to a medication he was gasping for air. They turned him away because they only had one Doctor and recommended another Hospital that was 40 miles away. Being so far by the time we got there our little dog was dead He died about 5 Minutes before we arrived. We believe some oxygen or an IV would have probably saved his life or buy him some time to get to the Hospital. They are horrible no regards for our pet’s life, He was 15 years old but very energetic and active with no problems. Don’t go to Miami Veterinary Specialist they don’t care except for making money they sure are expensive. Rip Bam????

Can’t say enough about the people who work here. Our dog had a catheter left in by another vet, after teeth cleaning. We noticed the issue after our vet’s office had closed! Our dog’s legs are white and the bandage was white as well, so it was hard to see the small catheter. We immediately called Miami Veterinary Specialist and spoke with Jessica. She checked with the vet and told me to come on over, no charge! Who does this nowadays! We were so happy and thankful for them! Highly recommend this place!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS JUST TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!! If I could give them a 0 I would. I drove my friend here yesterday and she was very sad because her dog got sick and her usual vet left for an emergency. We stopped by here because she has coverage that she was able to use for her dog here. The lady at the desk was training a new girl and instead of talking to her she would only speak to my friend through the new girl. She refused to speak to her. My friend asked to make sure about the coverage for the coverage for the visit and she told the new right “she can’t afford it she can go somewhere else” with my friend standing right in front of them. How disgusting do you have to be and rude to even speak like that to anyone. Specifically as she’s breaking down because her puppy isn’t well-. I’m truly in awe of how unprofessional this lady was. I myself just moved to the area and was about to use south Miami dog clinic as my new Primary vet for my dogs. Now I know to go elsewhere. My friend came out crying she only added more stress in a moment of need. Awful.

I had an awful experience with MVS about 4 years ago when the front desk harassed me for payment as an unsupervised intern, Dr. Alderetta, grossly misdiagnosed my cat and failed to palpitate a large growth on his kidney. …

I dropped off my cat on Friday morning at 9 AM for iodine treatment. I was scheduled to pick him up Sunday morning. After not hearing from the office for over 24 hours, at 12pm Saturday I called to get an update. I was told that the tech who was responsible for that would be in later that afternoon. At 4pm I still hadn’t gotten a call, so I called again. At that time they told me that they tried to reach me at 10:30am and left a voicemail which they had not done otherwise I would not be calling multiple times. When I picked up my cat Sunday morning, he was returned to me reeking of urine. I don’t know how long he must’ve been sitting in his own urine but after giving him a bath, I still cannot get the smell of urine off of him. A courtesy call to let me know this happened and to offer a bath would’ve been very helpful. But after not getting a call for a simple update, I this sort of service was a long shot. The front desk staff kept calling him by a different name even after I corrected them several times. Sadly the staff leave very much to be desired. For the price of the treatment and boarding I feel that my cat could’ve gotten better care. I did not get to meet the Dr who administered the treatment but from our phone calls he was very responsive and cordial. He is the only reason I did not leave a 1 star review.

Hospital claims it’s open 24 hours, however our Lily was turned away without being seen. Poor thing was in excruciating pain and simply wouldn’t see her “because the the doctor was. It seeing any other patients”.

My dog died and I didn't get to say goodbye to him because they didn't check for other things that could've been wrong and put him down so quickly. It took me doing research of my own and calling them back saying "could it have been this?" and them agreeing saying that that was probably what happened to find out what happened. When they were treating him they didn't care to check for other causes and focused on something they knew was wrong and put him down the next day without a second thought. If you care about your pets do not bring them here.

This veterinarian is the best EVER! When I found my cat she had been missing for two days and could not walk on her left leg. It was obvious she was an awful pain. I took her to my regular vet but they said they couldn't do anything for her so my husband and I spent hours calling every vet in Miami and this was the only veterinarian who could do the surgery that was necessary to fix her leg. Even though both her fibula and tibia were broken, Dr. Larin was able to repair them with medical metal sheeting and medical screws. He is an absolute genius! To top it off he is kind and has incredible energy. I am very grateful to Miami Veterinary Specialists and specifically Dr. Jorge Larin. They will take better care of your pet family member than any other vet.

Our 17 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback became very ill and lethargic on a Saturday afternoon. We called Knowles Animal Clinic and Pet Emergency and were told by both that they weren’t taking any more patients because they were full. We didn’t know what to do. We showed up to Miami Veterinary Specialists and immediately they brought our dog in and started working on him. Dr. Samantha Carter was amazing and so compassionate. Unfortunately, our dog was too ill and we had to make a hard decision. But the compassion and excellent medical care and staff at this hospital was amazing. It made us get through this hard time. Everyone, the girls upfront and techs were so kind. Thank you.

So far I waited almost 2 hrs. Yes I was advised. But in those two hours, no one saw my puppy. The first step in the process was to charge 120. Within the 1st 15 minutes. Totally unacceptable. I don’t mind paying for receiving a service but this way... totally unacceptable.

I went today to see if my 4 month old puppy needs surgery due to bone fracture. I loved the stuff I met today. I was very hesitant to go due to all these reviews. the doctor I met was very professional and provided great service to my puppy. I made an appointment to go at 8:30 and a nurse came to see me 10 mins later. I didn't wait too long maybe because I had an appointment and it was early in the morning.

This is not an emergency clinic I called two days in a row to confirm I could get an ultrasound they said yes bring them right over I bring my animal after fasting for 8 hours and it's another 2 to 4 hour wait this place is looking for money only I will never bring any animal back to this particular establishment they need to go over what they tell people they need to get their office staff in line so that they know what to tell clients when they bring a very sick animal instead of saying yes we can do it right away they should be honest and tell you it will be another four hours

My chihuahua went in for pancreatitis last week. I have never been treated so poorly ever before. The diagnostics test included blood and some x-rays for which I'm still awaiting the results. The bill was outrageous and the attention to my dog was terrible. I would recommend going anywhere else for an emergency but here. I'm very dissapointed in these money hungry sharks! Never again!!

Well it was unfortunate to go through what my puppy & myself went through but then the fortunate thing was I contacted MVS which corrected that. Thank God & thank MVS!

It's never a good thing when you actually NEED an ER room for a pet. Over the years I've been forced to use various Miami pet ER centers and the three I have used prior to MVS were unprofessional, uncaring, over priced, and a waste of time and money. Last week I was in a position where one of my cats was in acute respiratory distress and my regular vet suggested MVS. I called, told them what was wrong, and they said they would take her right away when we arrived. And they did! Unfortunately we needed to make the painful decision to let her go because she was found to be in end stage congestive heart failure. We were treated with respect, we were allowed time to grieve, no one was pushing to get the bill paid, and we weren't treated like we were checking out at a grocery store - like the other ERs did when we were there. The final bill was very fair! If I ever have another pet emergency, I will only go back to MVS.

If you love your pet do not take them to this hospital!!! Horrible hospital! They advertise themselves as an emergency hospital who offer emergency critical care to animals but when my sister-in-law showed up with her dog she was turned away. The lady at the front desk was so rude and heartless not allowing enter simply saying the doctor wasn't available. Her dog was dying in their parking lot and no one would even come out to help him. He died in their parking lot before they could even get him to another emergency hospital that actually provided emergency critical care to animals. What's even worse, when they called the next nearest hospital they said unfortunately they weren't the first to have their dog die because they were turned away from this hospital.
