I would have to mention all the choices above. A friend referred me several years ago when I moved to this area. They are beyond wonderful. The doctors, the staff all top notch. I would not have any reservations referring anyone to go to that practice. So responsive and kind. Always a follow up very timely. I had a houseguest who had a serious problem with their dog. A new patient. They saw the dog. Had to refer it to a specialist. The dog got excellent care. Dr Pegalow was on vacation and never saw the dog who returned to his home in another state. Dr Pegalow called when he returned to follow up. How extraordinary is that? Speaks volumes and show great care!! Don’t hesitate to join that practice!!!

We are very happy that we have found this excellent vet. Ourselves and our pets have been treated extremely well. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital. I say that without reservation. I am also a native of 53 years.

I use to love taking my dog here . After my last visit Friday I felt the doctor seeing my dog was not listening to me. After she promised my dog would get better with her suggestion of treatment after I told her she was already treated with what she suggested. My dog got worse. I also felt Dr.Carnero could care less about my dogs condition the next day. I spoke to the nurse and she said she would have Dr Carnero call me and I'm still waiting. I guess it doesn't matter she's no longer with me now. This is the first time ever I had a bad experience with any doctor at Dixie Animal Hospital. The remainder of the team is awesome.

Dr. Sparks and the entire staff are always professional and treat my dog as a VIP patient every time. They always follow up with a call to ensure Lucy is doing well. They have maintained Covid precautions throughout the past year and I appreciated what they have done to protect staff and clients.

Dr. Sparks is AMAZING and also her nurses. I’ve been seeing her with my cat for a few years and she’s always the best, but this weekend showed me exactly how much better she is than everybody else. Her medical prowess (understanding, ability, instinct) would be enough alone to recommend her, but added to her standard of care for the pet and patient? Unheard of. Her concern for my cat, bedside manner and follow up are way above and beyond. I think she’s the best in South Florida. My cat was sick this past weekend. Another vet ordered every test she could ($1,500 in the end) and then essentially read the results to me from the paper over the phone without explaining anything and recommended I take my cat to the emergency vet. Dr. Sparks, on the other hand, actually sees the cat, checks her over, knows what tests to order based on the symptoms and explains everything to me piece by piece in a way I can understand. You can tell she really has an instinct for what is going on with a pet. She doesn’t overcharge unnecessarily or have you making decisions from a place of panic like many vets do when your pet is sick. If she recommends something, you can trust the animal needs it. Trust is a great word to describe Dr. Sparks. You can trust her. She truly cares and answers all questions and follows up to explain. A standard of care I thought only existed in old movies. Just make sure you go when she is there, don’t make the mistake of thinking one doctor is as good as another.

I have a 6 month old puppy and I was recommended to go see Dr. Sparks, o have felt very comfortable with her, she is very sensible when it comes to recommending what my puppy needs. Unfortunately when she has not been there I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of a bit, my dog had been throwing up and the doctor I saw that was not Sparks, wanted me to spend $600 without really knowing what was wrong with him, my puppy ended up not eating the food or taking the meds or needing any of that treatment, I don’t think it nice to take advantage of people when they are desperate because they have a new puppy and they will do anything for their puppy to be ok. I will continue going to Dixie but only to see Dr. Sparks, she’s an excellent Vet and I highly recommend her.

Clean facility, courteous staff and professional care. Dr. Sparks was thorough and gentle, and most importantly, addressed my cat's medical condition effectively.

They are a very professional and caring office. Doctor Pegelow is a wonderful vet who takes his time with his patients and he is knowledgeable about his patients. Calls the day after to see how the pet is doing and that is very special.

I was a client for close to 20 years. After my Husky passed, I moved to new place some distance away then got a new puppy a couple of years later. I decided to use the vet who had taken care of the puppy and his litter mates. Why not, right? I deeply regret that choice. After a year with the new vet, after a ton of money for various things, I finally got smart and went back to Dixie Animal Hospital.

I had an overall fairly positive experience. I boarded my dog who has medical problems and the team at Dixie was very responsive and took good care of her. I would recommend them.

We were pleased with our initial visit, interaction and communication with Dr. Carter and the rest of the staff. We hope it is not a one off and the level of professionalism, communication and care for our fur babies is continuous as we have been in search for someone who will partner with us in their care and not just treat us as just an account number on their database

Dr. Sparks has brought my 14 year old dog back to life. She is the best, most caring vet, I have ever had. She knows what she is doing!

The Veterinarians and staff at Dixie Animal Hospital are amazing! I was recommended by a good friend and took our 10 month old kitten ,Kenny, to the clinic; Dr Pegelow , Dr Carter and Dr Morales treated us and our little Kenny with so much professionalism and affection towards little Kenny! Dr Pegelow and his staff called regularly to follow up on his clinical progress! I would recommend Dixie Animal Hospital in a heartbeat! Pros: +Last-minute appointment availability +Emailed explanatory invoicing is convenient Cons: -Overpriced (my guesstimate is about 27% higher than vets in the south Dade area) -In addition to being overpriced, I felt they were more interested in running than anything else. -Provided conflicting information and were flustered when asked to explain themselves. -Did not build a trust foundation. -Did not listen. Ignored what I requested and justified whatever they did -Communication chain was broken. Tech did not communicate fully with the vet. Vet call was consequently muddled. -Vet did not follow up with information on a procedure as requested.

The entire staff treat my shih poo Walter like their own pet. They took excellent care of him the entire time and the Vet, Dr. Sparks, even called the next day to follow up on the visit.

I have been coming here for years with all my babies. They are very good vets and nice people.

I cannot say enough about Dr Sparks and her staff. My service dog of 10 years old when in with a tumor. They took us immediately and we were new customers. Dr Sparks continuously called me and consulted me about a plan and the staff notified me about everything that was going on and answered all my questions. Her surgery was brilliant and thorough. She contacted me immediately afterwards the follow-up to see how summer was herself. If there are dog and cat guardian angels in the world they all work at Dixie Animal Hospital. Dr Sparks thank you for saving Summer.

I cannot praise Dixie Animal Hospital enough. I recently moved to Miami from Denver and (upon initial arrival) had the hardest time trying to find a friendly, reliable, and professional vet...but Dixie saved the day! They are so welcoming and helpful with my young weimeraner. I have had everything from spaying, vaccinations, to boarding done here without any problems/complaints. I trust them completely. I will never go anywhere else so long as I am a FL resident.

DR Sparks is amazing. I have never had a doctor take care of my pup like she has. She went out of her way to contact a specialist for me and make sure that my fur baby was getting the best care. I will never go anywhere else. She is the best!!!
