My momo took a turn for the worse the night leading into Christmas Eve. He had never been there. They got him in and was so compassionate. Thank you so much. That dog was my entire entire life! So on Christmas Eve they made sure my guy didn’t suffer through Christmas and let me cry with him as long as I wanted. :(

Dr. Abbe had been seeing our dog for several months. But, it was always a problem to refill her medications through WalmartPetRx. Every time, Walmart wrote and said Vet had NOT responded to the refill request. So, I called VCA Lake Wales to let them know. They always responded with "We have not received a request from your Pharmacy. So, I called the pharmacy, who stated that as incorrect. They confirmed the phone and fax number and said, "We've sent three requests, all have gone unanswered" Months later we learn our Vet, Dr. Abbe has left the company, not because VCA Lake Wales contacted us, but just a simple Internet search. So, this time, I left three voice mail messages regarding the VCA non-answer and approve all which went unanswered. No live person available. Today, 11/30/2021, I called again and finally reached a human, who stated that they do NOT deal with outside pharmacies. After a short discussion, this person hung up on me and another called me back a few minutes later. She also said they will NOT contact the customer regarding issues with outside pharmacies, which I only learned you MUST use their pharmacy to get better care for your animal. So, I asked if they gave preferential treatment for owners who buy their medications at their pharmacy, and she said no., but also stated they will NOT contact pet owners who use outside pharmacies, but will contact pet owners who use their in-house pharmacy. She saw no contradiction, even when pointed out to her. Sadly, I blamed Walmart for these many issues, that turned out to be VCA business practice. So, use their pharmacy, you will get better care and communication for your pet. Choose an outside pharmacy, you will not be contacted for that reason. Obviously we must find a new Vet with the heart and soul to actually care for animals instead of giving preferential treatment to pet owners who use their pharmacy, and no contact or calls for those who don't.

Have not used their service but have tried. My 8 year old morkie is not feeling good and not acting like her playful self. I called them for an emergency appointment and they would not see her for 10 days. They state that they treat our fur babies like family but that is a understatement because if it were true then they would have tried to squeeze an appointment to see her.

How can they call themselves a vet hospital when there isn't an actual Vet there everyday?! My dog was in pain and after they asked if he'd been there before or had an appointment and telling them no, they told me there wasn't a vet on staff that day so they couldn't help and sent us down the road. Seriously?! Do better! Edit to reply: No, this was at this location it was 5/6/2021. I walked in and waited for the lady at the front desk to finish with the others in line while my husband waited in our vehicle with our dog. After explaining the situation, she told me there was no vet on staff that day and referred me to a place in Winter Haven.

This was our first visit here, the staff and facility was awesome. Felt very comfortable and even tho we were walk-ins the wait was timely. Our fur baby had emergency surgery the previous week and needed his drain tubes removed from a ruptured absess. Dr Waltman saw Tyler, removed the tubes, gave us a progress report, going back NXT to have his stitches removed. Will be making appt to have our EB neutered. We feel confident that our fur babies will be cared for like their own. 6/10/21, Had an appt with my cat. Dr had a very poor bedside manner and made me very uncomfortable and unsure of her competency as a Dr. At this point, considering looking for another office. This one has changed owners recently. Very disappointed because they came highly recommended. Trust for my pets well being not being felt.

There are not enough words I can use to express my gratitude regarding the care my fur babies receive at this clinic. Today we experienced a medical emergency for our sweet Maci and they did everything in their power to ensure she was given the best care. We appreciate Dr. Waltman for making herself available on her day off to complete surgery on our sick baby. She is still in recovery but we know for sure that we still have our Maci due to her knowledge and surgical abilities. Thank you to all of the staff!! We do greatly appreciate you all.

My experience with VCA has been nothing but positive I have been taking Sydney and Sally here for over 10 years and have had wonderful care. The staff is always friendly and Dr DeGroat is goes the extra mile to care for my kitties

They quoted a price of over $508 to fix my pup. $197 for the spay, $45 for anesthesia, $50 for fluid support (water through the IV) $48 for medication, a collar for $8, and an optional prep profile of $50. This is insane. I have never had to pay so much.. And I won't. I scheduled elsewhere. Aside from that, they're very nice. I have been to this vet prior and had a pet spayed and only paid $250, obviously there was an increase. Quality of care should be free. I should not have to pay for care... Just the procedure and Meds. Quality of care should be what prompts a customer to choose them over another vet. That's the value in quality of care, not monetary value.

Great Experience! For the past four (4) years my mother has been taking my Lil Oreo (Cat) her while I was overseas. Finally was able to get time to come back and pick her up for travel to Germany. Erin was really helpful in the Health Certificate process and communicated the entire time. With such short notice of getting everything setup, Erin and her team made it way less stressful than I imagined and did not run into any issues. Thanks Again! -Kyle

We had to have our fur baby put down as he couldn't walk and had a mass in his chest, was no longer eating. We did not want him to suffer, we Loved him so much and the staff was so compassionate and understanding. We had our little fur baby cremated, when we picked up his remains they had prepared a beautiful memorial keepsake for him. They were so caring and helpful. We would recommend them for all your pets needs. Mr & Mrs Sayers.

Have been taking my pets to this facility for over 10 years with no complaints. The other day I made an appointment for my 5yr old 120lb Pup. He is a good boy, but simply will not allow strangers to touch him. I told them in advance that he has to be sedated on arrival. They wanted to second guess me and stressed him out terribly before agreeing that he would need to be sedated. I asked them to update all his shots, clip his nails, and test him for all internal parasites. I was told he would be ready to pick up at 4:00 pm, (2.5 hrs later). On my way to pick him up the vet calls wanting to keep him over night. I informed her that i was already in the parking lot and would not be leaving him. They charged me over $200.00 He had been given none of his shots, his nails were not clipped, but he was high as a kite. No, I will never take him back.

This was our initial/introductory visit here - with our newest puppy/4-legged addition to our "pack." The staff was professional and friendly. In spite of the pandemic the facility was very clean and well maintained. There is also an adjoining boarding/grooming building. My wife and I are in resolute agreement that we approve of Dr. Matthews!

I have been going there with all my animals since they opened. I made an appointment 4 weeks ago and arrived 1:30 called upon arrival and had to leave a message on the answering machine. I was the only car in the parking lot. After 25 minutes cars started coming in. Their Animals were being taken in. When the girl came out a 3rd time after 2pm I told her I have been here 35 min already and no one called me back. Very unprofessional.
