So grateful for Dr. Rossi & his staff. They were able to see my veiled chameleon the day after his leg broke. Diagnostics (including x-rays), meds & a splint for my cham were *very* reasonably priced. Dr. Rossi & his staff answered all my questions. I'm so glad to have a vet so knowledgeable about reptiles close by!

Staff is friendly and really care for your pets. They are transparent and fair on pricing. They make sure to call and update you/get your permission before doing anything additional to your pet like, bloodwork or x-rays. It's very hard to find an animal hospital you trust with your pets but they make it a no brainer.

It pains me to give such a negative review, but since I can't get answers maybe this will get someone's attention. The communication in this office is deplorable at best. It is very obvious the office staff care more about their studying than they do their clients. When my daughter told me the office was only accepting drop offs, Something didn't sit well with me. But, my iguana wasn't feeling well and I knew he had to be seen. So we agreed. She dropped him off at 10am on Wednesday and I agreed to pick him up after they said they would call when he's ready. So I went to work. At 330pm I received a call asking if they could do an xray to which I replied no as my boy has historically gotten a URI this time every year. He was displaying the same s/s. I was comfortable with just a check up and medication. They said ok, we'll call you when he's ready. In the meantime I had got busy with work and had not checked the time until my daughter called and asked how the boy was doing. It was at that time I realized it was 630 pm and they never called. I drove to the office to find the parking lot and office pitch dark and the doors locked. Needless to say I panicked. I called every after hours emergency vet listed on Riversides front door to see if anyone had a way to reach someone from this office. No one did. I was advised to call JSO by one of the clinics after explaining my situation to them. Needless to say, I did not as I know JSO has more emergent things to deal with. So, after an hour of phone calls, and a very upset VM to Riverside, I went home. Without my boy. Laid in bed all night wondering if he was alive or dead? Did he somehow escape the office? There must be a reason they didn't call me! Thursday morning I walked into the office at 7am and nobody had any answers for me. Just said they will put his chart on Dr. Rossi's desk and he'll follow up. That never happened either. They took their sweet time going to get him and finally handed me an ICE COLD, covered in feces iguana wrapped in his now wet and poop covered blanket. They handed him to me and he didn't move a muscle, just laid there. Now let's take the fact that he is an ESA out of the equation. He had not eaten before his visit bc it was early and he had not warmed up yet, something tells me they don't keep 2 lbs of fresh greens laying around the office for extended stays of herbivores. Lord knows what kind of enclosure they have for an iguana of this size but it's apparent he didn't have any heat or lights, nevermind proper humidity for his 21 hour stay. Dr. Rossi has been good and prices dirt cheap, but animals are family. In this case, more. To not know what had happened to him, if he was OK and then to see him in worse condition than when he was dropped off....is absolutely unacceptable. I know that exotic animal hospitals are scarce in Jax and they have plenty of clients, so us not returning doesn't matter in the grand scheme. I have no problems paying more at Exotic Bird Hospital or an emergency vet where I know my emotional support animal will be treated with kindness and love and me as his human will get the communication I deserve. Riverside, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I feel like it is over priced. My cat had an eye infection which I ended up paying $300 for

Very professional & kind. Brought my bunny in as stray dogs had found their way into my sunroom and bit him through his cage, damaging his eye. They were quickly able to see him & gave alternatives to surgery which worked! Would highly recommend

Amazing. Best vet experience I have EVER had! Dr. Rossi is incredible, and Jacksonville is a better place thanks to his practice! All of the young women working the front desk were so polite, sweet, helpful, and thoughtful. You can just really tell everyone working here TRULY loves animals, instead of just being in it for the money! Thank you to everyone involved in the care of our precious baby, from the ladies working the front desk, to the techs assisting in his care, and to Dr Rossi himself for his dedication and devotion in the field of veterinary medicine. Thank you guys SO MUCH for saving our boy Prince Tulip. You have truly made a wonderful impression on us and we are excited to have found a vet that we can trust with ALL of our babies, from the soft and fuzzy, to the scaly and slithery. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I have been bringing my Rottweiler and my French Bulldog to Dr. Rossi for quite a while. I have dealt with a lot of veterinarians over the years and he is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about the animals that he treats. I have also found his office to be efficient and thorough. They have even squeezed me in for more urgent matters without an appointment. Polite and friendly staff. I highly recommend him.

The location is convenient but the value for cost just isn’t there. The vet is an incredibly good vet and cares a great deal. I’ve been a loyal patron for the better part of a decade, but the office is dingy a d we experienced it to be disorganized. We also found we had to ask for things vs being suggested for normal care. A specific example is one of our dogs - they forgot to put them on a heart worm medicine which we thankfully found out about because it’s generally an anti-parasite med and they got ringworm which triggered the vet to say “oh they need to be on heart worm medicine!” To which we were shocked because it hadn’t been suggested and we didn’t know the age it was supposed to be first administered. On another time, we had a dental visit which they overcharged two of our pets on different weeks in the same way. They rectified it with credits but not a credit on our card. Basically buyer be careful.

A+++++ Dr. Rossi and staff have been extremely helpful to me in situations when others couldn't or wouldn't. I have driven long distances to Riverside Animal Hospital and find the driving to be well worth it. I recently took a really sick beloved exotic pet to Dr. Rossi and found him to be kind, caring, helpful, thorough, knowledgeable, and skillful. I greatly appreciate his services.

Super sweet when I was grieving my dragon, they didn't let me waste money just to make me feel better. They were honest and compassionate when I needed them to be. I couldn't have asked them to handle it any better. I was a mess and they were all about making me feel ok to start grieving. Gratitude.

Abby his office help is the rudest "thing" I ever had dealings with. She is incompetent. And Rossi allows it.
