They took care of my poor cat. But you would think for the thousands I’m spending for his care I would get all of his personal belongings back. But no, he had a brand new thunder jacket left behind and after 5 phone calls and 2 …

Staff was professional, knowledgeable, warm and kind. Dr. Wilson was attentive to our concerns and clear in her explanation of her findings. We never felt hurried or dismissed.

First Coast Vet's took amazing care of my pup. We woke up with her behaving strangely the day before Thanksgiving. Our vet was able to determine she had an internal bleed so I rushed her to First Coast Vet's right away and they had her in surgery, stabilized, and testing comfortably within hours. We got her back Friday morning and she's been recovering well ever since.

We give a rating of "1" only because the surgery was successful. Our dog Gypsy needed knee surgery and our Vet specifically recommended Dr. McNicholas. Our Vet tried to make an appointment with Dr. McNicholas, but was told "WE" had to do it. We arrived at FCVS at the appointed time only to find that Dr. Wilson would be Gypsy's surgeon. We virtually no option. We met with Dr. Wilson and decided to let her do the surgery, but first we would have to wait more than two weeks while she went to Canada to visit family. When the surgery day came, we arrived at 8:30 AM as directed. The tech told us the surgery would take less than one hour and took Gypsy away. Not hearing anything, we called four hours later and were told that Gypsy hadn't even gone into surgery yet, About three hours later, still not hearing anything we called again and she was just going into surgery. Around 6:00 PM we received a call from a tech saying the surgery went well and Gypsy was resting. The next day we picked her up and spoke with Dr Wilson. We asked if she thought our experience merited a "5 Star Rating" and she said "No" We have left a total of FIVE messages for Dr. McNicholas and neither he or his staff has been professional enough to return a call.

I had a cat spayed by First Coast No More Homeless Pets. The incision appeared to be opening so I drove out to the beach at 10:00 p.m. to have her looked at. A tech looked her over at no charge & said that was just the way the surgeon had completed the incision.

Dr. McNicolas and his staff did surgery on my 15 year old dog to remove a cancerous mass located in his small intestines. I couldn't have been happier with the great care and service my dog received here.. They saved my baby and I will go here if he ever needs surgery again. Thank you Dr. McNicolas and staff!

Very thorough and compassionate with their care. The vet explains everything to make it understandable, as well as providing you with a sense of confidence. This is extremely important because this is a 24 hour vet clinic therefore you aren't seeing your regular vet.

We had to rush our dog MiMi to the hospital when she was having trouble breathing. It took an overnight stay (oxygen, iv, etc) but they nursed her back to health & my family is incredibly grateful.

I would definitely recommend this facility to my family and friends. We were not rushed and all needed tests were performed during this visit. When we left, we had a diagnosis, plan of care and all of our questions had been answered.

The staff from the front office to the Dr's are EXTREMELY HELPFUL,COMPASSIONATE, AND CARING. I've used First Coast more than once and the love they put in to these animals will forever be the reason I call them first when needed.

This staff was there for us in one of the worst times of our lives. The care shown for our Bulldog, and the care shown for us in a worried state, will not be something I soon forget. Thank you First Coast for everything!

This review is long over due. My 100 lb lab had TPLO surgery with Dr. McNicholas 3 years ago. He was unable to walk around the block or put much pressure on his leg at all. This surgery changed his life and put him back out doing all the things he loves (hiking, swimming, dog parks). He never limped on the leg again. From the surgeon to the front desk - I received the most amazing customer service. Everyone was always very thorough and willing to answer all my questions at any time. They truly cared for my dog and I am so grateful to them for giving him his quality of life back. It is hard to find a vet that makes your feel comfortable and knowledgeable about your pets needs. I highly recommend trusting this facility to take care of your dog!!

The absolute BEST animal hospital ever. They have saved both my babies each time we brought them in. The ladies at the front desk were so nice, calm, and extremely helpful during a time of distress. They saw both my dogs right away each time we brought them in and gave them the best attention and care. I would recommend First Coast Animal Hospital to anyone! We appreciate them so much!

They did what they promised under the expected price, we left our dog a few hours to get stitches here and they returned him safe and sound with some antibiotics and a cone. Recommend if you want safe care for your animal.

My Shih Tzu became very sick with stomach issues to the point he was nearing organ failure. I rushed him to FCVets Specialists and they immediately began an IV and running blood work to determine the cause. They got him stable and he had surgery the following day. A Pet is like your Baby and when they're sick, it's mental anguish just as if it was happening to your child. FCVets entire staff of support personnel, Technicians, Nurses and Doctors were all very patient with us and professional at all times. They willingly spent as much time as needed answering questions and explaining procedures and next steps. Our Bandit could not have been given better, caring treatment. In just a few days, the staff fell in love with him and already had his quirks down. This showed me they monitored him closely and gave him love and kindness in his time of need. I cannot recommend this Emergency Animal Hospital high enough. If Bandit requires emergency treatment in the future, he will go to First Coast Veterinary Specialists! Thank you Dr. Eich, Dr. Linden, Nurses Rochelle and Kenzie! You were all terrific!

The front office staff is extremely busy answering phones and checking in patients. Some reviews say they were rude; they were not, however they were just very busy. Dr. Wilson could not be more professional, courteous, and she answered all of my questions thoroughly. The nurse was very professional, courteous, and very informative as well. She asked if I had any questions and was very caring towards my dog. Both spent all the time I needed to make me comfortable with the plan for my dogs' care. I would highly recommend First Coast Veterinary Specialists. Thanks for taking care of my German Shepherd so well.

It’s taken me over a month to have the emotional energy to post this review. I have been here twice, referred each time by my Vet at Pet Doctors of America. This is referencing my second visit. I brought my bulldog Ruby in after waiting two weeks for the appointment. She had been having chronic urinary health problems for years, and we were there for a sedated ultrasound and cystoscopy to try and determine if it was cancer or stones, etc. We were on time for our appointment at 9:30, there were no rooms available so we had a short wait. We were brought back and the vet tech began her interview which was interrupted by the veterinarian. The ONLY reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because of the veterinarian. He took the time to explain and summarize what they were going to do, got down on the floor and played with my dog. What they were going to do however did not however include a cystoscopy which I was anticipating-that would be later if I I specifically asked if they would please trim her nails when she’s sedated because it’s a very stressful process for everyone when she’s awake. I was told it’s part of their normal process to do a courtesy trim. Great. Off she goes, and I head home. A different radiologist had to be called in to even do the ultrasound. The hours pass by and now it’s 4:30 or so and she’s ready to be picked up. I send my husband as soon as he’s off work and he arrives right about 5:30. This visit cost us upwards of $900, no discharge instructions. No preliminary results. Just an unfriendly “we’ll call you.” After he gets her in the car and is already on JTB he realizes his shirt is damp, because the vet released our dog back to us COVERED in her own urine and it got on him as he was lifting her into the car. He brings her in the house and we have to get her in the tub and give her a bath with two screaming children and guess what-NO trimmed nails. I specifically asked and was willing to pay extra, was told no it’s included, and it wasn’t done. I called the office and asked for an office manager to call me back THREE times over the next week to discuss this experience. Never got a call back. Over a week goes by and we finally get results. The veterinarian did spend a good bit of time explaining them to me and I do appreciate his time. But the news was not good, multiple masses throughout her abdomen, he used an expletive in describing her condition “her bladder is a f***ing centimeter thick” and said he doesn’t know how to treat it, there probably is no treatment, it’s going to be expensive, and gave us a number to another vet to try and see what they could do. I was anticipating poor results and would have been very receptive to talking about putting her down; it would have been reassuring. Instead we were left to navigate that option on our own. She was still sick- frequency, pain, blood in her urine, accidents. So we made the decision to put her down and had a hospice vet come to the house. It’s disappointing that some of our last memories with our girl were filled with frustration over undignified vet visits and getting the run around about what to do. I’m always going to remember they sent her home filthy, an office manager never called me back and despite superb communication by the veterinarian they avoided discussing euthanasia.

Our dog had a splenic tumor, which Dr. Linden removed. He was recommended to us by two different veterinary professionals, who indicated that he was a genius with large tumor removal. Now that we are two weeks out from her surgery, I can confidently agree with their assessment. He really is brilliant, and he is also so compassionate and communicative. Our dog's surgery ended up being more complex, with the tumor attached to various additional organs. The care she received was exemplary, and there isn't any doubt that Dr. Linden and his team prolonged her life and gave her a far better quality of life for the time she has left. Thank you to the entire staff of First Coast Vet!!

Surgery was great customer service is terrible. The person at the front desk to the person who is doing surgery to the person who checks you out to the person who takes your money have no communication what so ever. Dog needed a very special surgery brought him in was given the estimate 2150 down anywhere from 2700 -2900 total. Paid 2150 on a Tuesday went to pick my dog up on Wed and to speak about a payment plan as I work for a veteran owned company and get paid in 3 days.. after all I just paid 2150 on a Tuesday. Was basically forced to purchase a care credit card to pay the final 25 percent of my bill before I could even see my dog. Had to apply in the waiting room very embarrassing. When I finally was approved as I make more than enough they informed me the remainder was 1040 .. almost 3200. I had no option but to pay as I was drained and mentally defeated at this point. Worst experience of my life and would not suggest anyone to use them. You can't throw numbers in someone's face reminding them of what the total could be .. just to throw $500 on top without even informing why. They took great care of my pet but the customer service I was given after paying $3K was atrocious. Made me very uncomfortable and believe me this isn't the only place/person have left my thoughts with. Their Rebuttal is almost completely false. Express my concerns during the follow up? Why so you could just completely ignore them as you are doing so here and not be reprimanded for your business standards? I clearly expressed my feelings when picking up my dog and informed that word of mouth goes a LONG way. I was told as a "courtesy" by DR. Wilson that they removed a mass and was sending it off to a lab. when I responded and asked how much this would be she said $160 to send off to the lab.. how that became $500 is beyond me. Why does it matter when I ask to be billed or a payment plan? That comment alone shows your poor business ethics. Credit care is no cost to me? the interest is 26 percent? The response below is almost a slap in the face which is why I will not be using them again. Again informing someone on an estimate and then charging them $500 more isn't acceptable. I understand you're trying to save face here but the damage is done. the communication obviously was not clear and even the receptionist was very uncomfortable having to walk around the corner and whisper back in forth about the situation. Poor business ethics.
