I had the misfortune of working for Simmons Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician in 2011. They were grossly unethical and motivated only by money and I quit after a few weeks. A young female doctor amputated a leg from a cat who did not need an amputation ringing up a huge bill for the caretaker. She also nicked several animals causing them to bleed, one profusely, when shaving them for ultrasounds. Everything had to be done fast because time was money, regardless of the consequences to the animal patients. There were countless other abuses of animals by every veterinarian in the practice and the recent reviews show that if anything, conditions at Simmons have worsened over the years not improved, which is sickening and shocking. I've been advocating and caring for animals for decades and I will soon be a doctoral student in human-animal interactions. I can confidentially and professionally say that Simons Animal Hospital is the worst animal hospital I have ever seen and they should be shut down by the The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) Board of Veterinary Medicine. Please find a reputable, ethical, compassionate veterinarian. Ask questions, stay with your pets through exams and treatments, and if something feels or sounds off, RUN.

The staff was excellent! My dog was sick for three days and they fit me in. The veterinarian explained everything to me about my dogs illness. The vet tech explained all the costs to me and I signed off on the treatment plan and costs.

I've never been more disgusted in my life. This place should be ashamed to be in business. My cat lay here dying and would not even move the appointment up a few hours. Unbelievable. I've been going there for years and will no longer be using them. Totally disgusting. Thanks for making my cats last few hours on earth miserable.

I needed a Vet to use for the four months I was going to be in the area; so glad I chose VCA Simmons. The care for my two dogs has been excellent and I am going to miss this facility and staff when I have to leave. I hope I can find the same level of care and professionalism at my new location. God bless you all and keep up the high standards of care.

Just left VCA Simmons with a sense of relief! All staff members were so attentive, professional and helpful. I was given a phenomenal tour and the place is amazing. I know I made the right choice picking VCA as our new vet.

Today, I walked out of VCA for the first time in 3 years. The Vet Tech staff is rude and condescending.The doctors are very good but I will not be spoken to in a disrespectful manner. The Vet Techs need more customer service training in how to work with ALL customers. This facility is very overly priced and caters to a specific privileged population. After spending THOUSANDS of dollars here for more than 3 years, I will gladly spend my money elsewhere. If you're looking for an reasonably priced animal hospital that offers reasonably priced pet prevention insurance, I took my second dog and now taking my Pitbull mix to Banfield Animal Hospital you're better off.

The front staff, the ladies that helped my dog get all his necessary vaccines, and the doctor all very professional, caring, and loving. They really do care and treat you and your pet like family. I bought my Siberian Husky in for a check up and left very satisfied. Their care club is great and you get a lot of value from it. Thank you VCA Simmons and staff for all your help. Strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a good vet.

Dr. Martinez is absolutely THE BEST. She is extremely kind, caring, sweet, and most importantly great at what she does! She took exceptional care of my senior maltese Sami while he was dealing with multiple issues and I felt extremely confident in having her perform his surgeries which went very well. Dr. Martinez not only took great care of Sami but also was phenomenal at communicating with me through phone, text and email updates. I felt so much more at ease with Dr. Martinez as Sami’s doctor and will certainly be requesting her for all future visits. Thank you so much for helping us!!

So we rushed my elderly neighbors dog to vca because she was having breathing problems. We knew it wasn't going to be a good outcome. I bragged to my friend how wonderful this place was. Unfortunately, we Got stuck with Dr Schwartz seeing her. Well, long story short. We went for coffee as the Doctor evaluated the pup. We then got a call an hour later from Dr Schwartz. Rudest vet we have ever talked to. She kept calling the little girl a he.. which shows lack of caring or concern. She raised her voice when we corrected her. From there on the conversation got worse. Keep in mind my elderly neighbor was crying her eyes out. we were in my car and on speaker phone. I said to Dr Schwartz let's show a little compassion Mrs Webb is very upset. She raised her voice and said. Look sir DONT TALK TO ME that way. OUTRAGE. I bit my tounge and said please help that little baby my neighbor was so upset and said to the Doctor please save my baby. AT THAT POINT WE BOTH FELT HELPLESS. Dr. Schwartz said fine and slammed the phone down. It took everything I had to hold back go in and making a seen which would have been a very bad outcome for that Doctor...I had to ask the office Manager Roy. Who is awesome and so very companionate! to see if we could switch Doctors. Because of Dr schwarts unprofessional attitude. It made things so bad with my neighbor. So Another Doctor stepped in and what a wonderful companionate person. She handling things with such greatness. This Doctor even cried with Mrs Webb about the outcome. After all the trauma caused by Dr Schwartz we had to put the little baby down horrible and so very sad. DR SCHWARTZ THANKS FOR MAKING A DIFFICULT SITUATION WORSE WHAT YOU DID IS BEYOND HORRIBLE. YOU NEED TO GO. I am filling a complaint with the state and every office of the state that governs best practices for vegetarians.

We had an amazing visit with our kitty here. The vet tech, Kaylee was kind and compassionate with our scared kitty. Dr. McKenzie was thorough, kind, and very gentle with our little one. You could tell these professionals were in the practice because of their love for animals. I will absolutely request both of them every time. I took my cat Lily here after feeling that my last vet was too happy to just run constant tests instead of looking at her health and environment as a whole. 5 stars for the extended hours and weekends and having multiple vets, since I work a 9-5 job. 5 stars for the office staff and vet techs. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient at their jobs. 5 stars for transparency and honesty from Dr. Branner. She fully explained my prior vets results(something he never did, so there were things I didn't even know) and while confirming what she thought his reasoning was for his route of care, also took MY concerns into account and Lily's overall history, activity, etc. We came to a great conclusion on treating her for one issue first and reevaluating before jumping to more tests. Will update my review as her treatment goes on, but overall I am happy so far with my decision to switch and feel my girl is in good hands as well as the transparency of the staff. Also, many negative reviews regarding their care club; I wanted to say my vet tech Katie and front office gentleman Greg fully explained it to me, gave me a brochure, and said if I had anymore questions regarding what was and isn't included to please ask. People need to do their research better.

Every visit has been another step to building a great relationship with the team that cares for my old, obnoxious dog. My Sadie is a challenge--she's feisty and difficult to examine but the techs and vets at VCA never give up solutioning ways that work for us. I have never had a bad experience here, but I want to call out Dr. Magram specifically. Talk about a great sense of humor, honest practicality and grace. She knows Sadie and takes such care of her AND is great with handling pet families. I'm happy Sadie has a great health care team--now if I could find the same caliber of care for me!

My dogs did not want to leave this p[lace. I watched them all week in the pool interacting with so many other dogs. They claim they will go nowhere else or I don't go on vacation. Ain't that something else. All kidding aside was the best experience for you and your animals. Look above at what I said 5 years ago. This place has changed for the worse. I left my same dogs there and they didn't know to give her wet food so she didn't eat for 4 days and lost 5 pounds. Called me to say she isn't eating and needed some appetite suppressent. They charged me for 1 drop of the whole bottle to say wow she eats wet food like crazy. What kind of kennel would let a dog chew themselves like this. No toys or treats to chew on for 12 hours. This place is absolutely horrible. In 2017 my other dog lost 10 pounds. Pictures don't lie!

Ok, I was going to give them a 4 star because it is a little expensive comparing to other local vets. But I just had to give them 5. Most clinics aren’t fully open to the public due to covid-19, well my 4 year old male Rottweiler had to get his rabies shot and could not just let anyone take him without me being there even when he had muzzle on, I would not be at peace if I couldn’t be present at the moment cause he gets very nervous and anything could of happen. Well, they have worked with me and I am thankful for that. I got in with my dog and everything went well. I also have to mentioned that they waved the exam / consultation fee and also got some free medications to prevent fleas. You all are the best, just work a little on pricing ;)

No more caring loving people than here at Simmons - a true tribute to Dr Simmons. They do this emotional work with tenderness and true concern, with understanding for the four-legged patient as well as it's parent. They Sit On The Floor to connect with, Then examine the furbaby. This amazing place, with full spa/pool and doggie chaize lounges will forever show the enormous heart of it's creator. Max the 18+yr old Jack Russell Terrorist was blessed indeed, & I cherish the customary pet portrait that came with each visit. God Bless you all.

Vet had the audacity here to want to put my parents dog down or chop the dogs leg off so they’ll make more money. Needless to say we took her to a different vet and years later she still walks and runs perfectly fine

The Previous Owner Dr. Simmons And The Remaining Staff Deserve 5 Stars. Since Selling The Business The Friendly Professional Attitude Is All About Up Charges. I Could Elaborate Much More I Can Only Commend The Previous Owner & Remaining Staff. Sad When Businesses Are Sold That The New Owners Do Not Maintain The Same Level Of Professional Mannerisms & Integrity. Customer Service Should Never Be About Employees Against The Customer. Dr. Pam Wood is the most caring and compassionate veterinarian. Dr. Wood and Nurse Yvette carefully provide expertise and knowledge with care and concern. They thoroughly present all the options to you in a careful and loving manner that puts you at ease. Dr. Wood even followed up with us to see how my dog and I were doing!

I do not recommend this vet AT ALL. they are money hungry and very unprofessional. They told me I had to sign up for care club in order for my kitten to receive shots, I was not told about the hidden fee. I was told I could cancel at any time only to be told later if I cancel I have to pay the difference for the YEAR. I was also asked to buy something new every single time I went. They are very unprofessional when it comes to handling issues and instead of helping transfer you four times and then say they will call you later. I had an awful experience with VCA Simmons and will never be returning .
