My goodness I called this place to schedule an appointment and spoke to a young lady named Taylor, she put me on hold for what felt like ages. The whole time I could hear her and another person gossiping about a poor lady who I assume just lost her pet. When she realized she didn't properly put me on hold she reacted startled and hung up. I was referred to this place from a friend and when I called her to tell her what happened she erupted in tears and told me to NEVER go to this place! They did something wrong when they were putting her to sleep and KILLED her sweet dog! This place should be closed, awful people.

We took our chihuahua there she was coughing a lot because of her heart issues, she needed a shot of lasix to give her a boost in removing the extra fluid, due to a missed heart pill. They put her in an oxygen tank and were telling me she needed to stay there for 4 days at the cost of over 5000$ I told them if I left her there she would definitely die from being so terrified. She is afraid of people and was majorly stressed out making her worse. 3 different people came in telling us if we took her out of there she would die. Well we took her out of there and after 20 minutes out of that place and away from those people she calmed right down and was breathing normally. Vet kept telling me he didn’t want her to suffer as if we were abusing her by taking her out. The whole thing was truly unbelievable! Do not go there. They operated under the guise of caring for our pet which maybe true but 4 days and 5000$ for a dog they thought was dying. WOW!!!!!!!

I just sat in a room while these people (staff) had my animal and they were discussing (I could hear them through the wall) how someone being too white is disgusting. This is the problem with this generation. Shame on anyone for judging someone based on their skin color...YOU are a part of THE PROBLEM.

Absolutely DO NOT GO HERE FOR A TRAVEL HEALTH CERTIFICATE!! Made my appointment weeks ago, drove from Texas to Florida and leaving on a noon flight to our home in The Bahamas. Get a phone call 30 minutes before my dog and two cats are to have their Travel Health Certificates completed. The excuse was the vet isn’t coming to work (day before Thanksgiving). There were “no other vets available”. They did nothing to help find another veterinarian and were very unapologetic. So……we will miss our private flight to the Bahamas, won’t be able to find a hotel due to the fact tomorrow is Thanksgiving and basically are totally screwed over. I would highly recommend you go to ACACIA ANIMAL HOSPITAL, professional, understanding, empathetic and we’re able to accommodate us immediately.

Yes, 5 stars is a big number for a medical establishment. And I'm comparing VCA clinic with all the human doctors and hospitals I've used since I moved to Ft Lauderdale in 2017. Your great experience begins when Michelle or another front desk responder answers the phone and either begins to help you immediately, or asks whether you're in an emergency, and, if not, are you able to hold. They don't take a chance of letting you down. They usually have an appointment for as soon as you can possibly be ready. I've never asked for same-day, but my VCA experiences suggest they'd squeeze you in if it was important. Due to the nature of cats, cat ladies, and busy Ft L traffic, we're often late. We call ahead, of course, and feel awful, but this clinic is all about the animals and no one has time to get all ... rules-y about the people. They expect you to wear your mask and I suggest you bring paper and pen, because before you know it, your critter is brought back from being weighed or injected and you'll be given a ton of good advice you should write down. DO try VCA on Commercial Blvd and NE 15th St (AKA Coral Springs Drive) or VCA Hollywood, which has an all-night emergency room, too. The doctor I've seen in Ft L, Dr Peterson, is smart, fast, experienced, and the right amount of serious. I've had many, many cats and many vet visits. I often end up crying, because some stray and feral animals never had a chance. But I think you will have as good an experience as possible if you bring your pet, or an animal you take care of, to VCA here in S Florida.

When we took our new dog here to get a check up after adoption, we were generally happy enough with the regular vet visit. Staff seemed nice. But it turns out, our dog had a bacterial infection that they decided to just not tell us about. One month later, we plan on going on a trip out of town so we sign our dog up for doggy boarding. The boarding facility calls the vet as a routine check up and guess what? The vet just pulls this random diagnosis out of nowhere, temporarily banning us from boarding, daycare, and canceling our trip. I'm glad the boarding facility did their due diligence because we would have never found out our dog apparently had some sort of infection (he was acting fine and energetic the entire time we have had him). So the vet either made this up (we are definitely going to another place to get a second opinion just in case), or more likely, they knew our dog was sick and just didn't care enough to tell us the results of a test that we didn't even know they ran on him. How would we have ever found out? You're just going to not let us know? Seriously? The other thing that really tops it off is that they promote Purina like it's a great dog food, even though everyone knows it's a terrible brand. I get that they're probably sponsored by Nestlé which is fine, but I specifically asked for other food recommendations and they wouldn't give us any help. We are beyond angry - it's an absolute trash vet. Lazy, incompetent and don't have your pet's best interests at heart. I hate to give a bad review, but I'm just so upset that they wouldn't reach out to us. They claim they called but there are no records in our phones, no voicemails, no emails, nothing. They definitely forgot and even if they didn't, they need to leave a voicemail or call a few times if the animal is sick. Getting a new vet.

My grandmothers dog went in for a routine check up after getting some teeth pulled. When we dropped Bunny off there was a cat that was being taken into the back. The cat was sitting there acting fine and meowing, appearing healthy. Shortly after, the man came out and said his cat was dead. They took my grandmas dog into the back and said they needed to give him a small dose of anesthesia to calm him for the check up so he didn’t try to bite. They said come back in an hour after anesthesia wore off to pick him up. An hour went by and we called. They said another hour and we could pick him up. Once that hour passed, we called again and they said the dog was dead. What we later found out is that they doubled his anesthesia and he overdosed and died. This is complete negligence and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT taking your beloved pet here with the utmost insistence if you want to keep your pet safe. My grandma is 86 and lost her only companion of nearly 8 years. She still cries every day and it’s been almost a month. Please reconsider using this vet for your pet and family members.

My dog had diarrhea and after the 2nd day, I called Imperial Point VCA Animal Hospital to see if I could bring my dog Bella in to be checked out. I was immediately given an appt. My usual vet, Dr. Peterson was booked, but could fit me in at 1:30, however, I had an appointment myself so I asked if I could see another vet. Upon arrival I saw the vet tech Gianna D . She was so efficient and very attentive and asked what was going on with Bella. She took Bella back to weigh her and Had the vet, Dr. Jorth check her out. He then came in and explained they did blood work & would call with results. He gave me probiotics and some antibiotics. I received a call this morning that her blood work was good. I can’t thank Gianna & Dr. Jorth enough for going above and beyond. Thank you for the excellent care we received. Debbie Smith

I’d like to thank Dorothy at this location for taking a bad situation and making it so much better. I dont think I’ve ever received such timely and perfect customer service in my life. I will definitely return thanks to her efforts!

Fair warning, if you need blood work, x-rays or a treatment plan…this vet is double the cost of other clinics in the area! Nice staff but not reasonable given most people’s financial situation post-pandemic. Edit: I found another kind hearted and reputable vet to treat my fur baby at a FOURTH of the cost. Avoid VCA at all costs.

Friendly staff with hours that are convenient. Always made to feel like or pup is their only and most favorite pup! Leaving the review I posted 2 years ago, because if all you need is a place to get annual checkups and your pup stays well this place is okay. But adding to it because after my recent experience, I would not recommend VCA at all if your pup is sick or in distress and you're hoping for help, professionalism, communication, and compassion. You will not get it here. Taking my pup somewhere else.

If I could give this no stars believe me I would. I came in yesterday evening worried looking for someone to check out my puppy's eye. He wasn't opening it and it was really red. He is about 2 months old so I easily got very concerned. I told the front desk people what I was coming in for and they gave me little to no attention. They had me waiting until after they checked someone out only to tell me they couldn't take anyone. Having me wait just to tell me to come back tomorrow by appointment makes no sense . DON'T CALL YOURSELF AN ANIMAL HOSPITAL IF YOU DON'T TAKE WALK-INS. It wastes people's time. Despite this being the closest animal hospital near me, I will never be coming back.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! VCA has always been a rip off and always will be. Find a local doctor that will treat you well and love your pet. Stay away from VCA bad company, high prices, definitely not professional and they will work off of your emotions to drain your bank account!!! Part2: The owner has responded to me and denied all allegations, basically just defended themselves and told me to contact them. I’ve dealt with them for several years on several different occasions and you have never taken care of me or my pet, your prices are exorbitant and you are a rip off!! I will not be responding to you personally because your practice is a joke.

I made an appointment for my cat for the following week and the person who took my call gave me an appointment for the same day, on the same day I was calling. I got the email and was like no this is wrong. So I called back and she was sorry so I told her aging please put me down for next week. This time she confirms with me the correct date and time. The following week I show up and I tell them I am here since we can’t walk in we have to call. They tell me the appointment is for the next day. I told them this is the 2 time this happens. They tell me I will have to wait till there is something open. I am mad and frustrated had to take time off and all of this happens. I will not be returning back.

I had a great experience with his hospital back in Chicago... So i though it will be the same in Fort Lauderdale, but i was wrong. Trisha had a awful attitude, very rude and unpleasant in general. The ladies at the front desk, specially one (forgot her name), wanted me to see someone different from Trisha but i told her I didn't feel confident and comfortable now since I didn't want neither cats or me be mistreated by Trisha...

My frenchton requires a regular allergy shot for her skin. My wife and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. Only since covid have they gone down hill. There is zero customer service. They come outside and get your pet, then bring them back, charge you, and move onto the next client. I can understand having to be efficient when you’re a busy animal hospital but not once have I been able to speak to the tech or whoever about my dogs care plan. The last time she was there, no one mentioned anything about an upcoming vaccination or having to pay an exam fee on her next visit. So sure enough, today for her visit, it’s sprung on me. It’s not about the funds, it’s about the lack of communication after waiting for nearly an hour after my scheduled appt time (only had 1 appt be on time, the rest I’ve always had to wait) I schedule an appt because I have a busy schedule and small children. Now, I have to move around several things because you can’t stick to your commitment? Or at least let someone know, hey it’s going to be awhile, would you like to reschedule or wait? Nope, just sit in the car and keep wondering what’s going on. Needless to say, we will not be returning and I’ll be sure to inform my family to find another office as well. In preparation for any response I may receive from management: NO I will not email anyone so that you may regain my trust. You’ve already lost it by showing me your lack of care for anything besides making money. FYI those are not my words, your employee directly Informed me that VCA is “hemorrhaging money”. Maybe you should open your doors again and actually talk to your clients.

ALWAYS AMAZING! I have been using this vet office for 3 years now and Dr. Powell and his staff are wonderful. Every time I call, my call is promptly answered, all questions asked, and I'm never left frustrated. They have always been able to fit me in for emergencies. The staff and Dr. Powell have the BEST bedside manner. I wish some of my own doctors treated me with the same care and love that my dog gets treated with at VCA. My dog gets just as excited to go to the vet as he does the dog park, which says a lot. Thank you Dr. Powell and staff for always beaming with so much care and attention, it is very apparent how much y'all love your jobs and animals!

New to the area and very impressed with this office. I love that they are not pushy and give you options. The tech Taylor was fantastic. Will definitely be back for all my pets needs.

The doctors are all great! Prices are not outlandish, but definitely on the high side. We've had a few instances where they were supposed to call back once test results, etc. were in but we never got a follow-up and had to reach out to them. In general that's not a big deal, but at least once our pup was on the wrong meds for over a week because of it. Overall, there is room for improvement, but I'm happy enough to stay with them.

Great group of people! I love this location. I’ve been to two other VCA’s in the past and was always overcharged and swindled into buying unnecessary things for my dog. But here they were nice, straightforward and I walked away spending less than $250 for vaccines, meds and wellness visit. We went in thinking at least $500.

Far from the cheapest but you get what you pay for. The vet is always on point and the staff is super friendly.

My dog Doce should win the Oscar for the best actor this year. That what I told “Doctor George” For 4 months he has a problem on his front right paw. VCA was the second clinic I took to check him out.Another big mistake. I provide the s I had from the other Clinic and they took more repetitive Xray and charged me with now mercy. And no solutions and probably with the intention to kill my dogDr george said there’s nothing wrong with my dog. He was acting. Ithe second “vet” couldn’t find anything wrong and prescribed a HUUUUGe amount of pain killers. Enough to put down one whole family of elephants. They basically “stoled my money” and make my dog even more sick. DONT TRUST

So I moved to FL and was hoping to find a great vet to check up and do anything necessary for my dog. U was so impressed. Place is amicable and clean. Staff is efficient and friend. Dr. Powell was great. Caring. Intelligent. They didn't try to push any unnecessary services or items on me. So glad. I found them from a referral. Thank you!

The most disrespectful worker. I called to make an appointment more my pet and was curious if they offered payment plans as with COVID times are tough. Her tone immediately changed and said no and hangs up! How incredibly rude! I’m a pet owner worried about the health of my animal and this is how you treat me? They even answered the phone with VCA where we care! You don’t care.
