Monica is amazing and knows her stuff! We were looking for a dog trainer and were referred to Monica. Even though we could not meet in person, Monica held a Zoom meeting with us and our pups and provided quality guidance on ways we could train while on a two month road trip. She gave us concrete ways to positively reinforce good behavior and techniques to help keep our pup engaged and behaved on our walks, hikes, and other activities. We plan to use Monica in person moving forward. We highly recommend.

She has been amazing with our puppy. Explains things well. At 10 weeks old he is already learning commands (sit, lay down, drop it, his name) and she always follows up with a detailed description of what we trained on that day. Our vet referred us to Monica/Moca Paws for behavior issues with our one year old Shetland Sheepdog, Brody. We've worked with other trainers, and we know what works and what type of trainer is best for us and our dogs. We knew almost instantly that Monica would be perfect for us! She was responsive and flexible when scheduling our first appointment (and all appointments since then). And she immediately connected with Brody (and our 10-year-old Sheltie as well). They love her! We've seen definite improvement in Brody's behavior - he is calmer and happier! Monica has been a God sent! She is so professional, knowledgeable and genuinely loves animals and what she does! She really teaches the right and most loving way on how to raise our baby! The best gift we can give our babies including fur babies is love and a loving home! And she defines that! Being a first time “ dog mom” I had no idea what I was doing! Monica came to our home to work on specific behaviors for our large 1 year old dog. Our big issue was when we had visitors, our puppy was uncontrollable with excitement. Monica's strategy worked. Monica is amazing! I've talked with 3 other dog trainers before and none of them even come close to how good Monica is. She is very knowledgeable. I've always wanted to get to the root of my dog's problem and she was able to tell me WHY my dog occasionally reacts, no other trainer has been able to do that. My dog Louie (black lab mix) was very comfortable with her right away and sat by her side. After listening to our story, she gave me tons of tips, and we took Louie for a walk. She taught me even more on the walk. I really love the positive reinforcement model and my dog responded so well to it too. After the walk she answered more of my questions and was very patient with me. Later that day she emailed me even more great information! I am so happy I finally found a dog trainer who is able to help Louie and I! I highly recommend her. Like I said, out of the 4 trainers I've talked to, she is the only one that was truly knowledgeable. The fact that she's kind, patient, helpful, and a true dog lover is a huge bonus. I first went to Moca Paws for help with my dog (catahoula leopard dog) that had developed quite the affinity for chasing cats/small animals while on walks. This became a problem because it made walks very unenjoyable with the constant pulling and tugging. I had tried trainers in the past and different training techniques but nothing seemed to work. Finally, I called Monica after being referred by a friend and wow was I impressed! Not only did my dog respond quickly from her positive reinforcement approach but I myself was very happy to see how much my dog could learn from this method of training. Monica's love and passion for dogs is evident not only in her training but also in her follow up when she makes sure your pup is still being a good boy! We did a virtual training session with Monica and boy was it helpful! Our full of love and life golden-doodle Shaq worked with Monica on puppy training basics and dog greetings- we already see improvements and learned ourselves how to continue to improve with our little boy. You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who genuinly loves dogs more than Monica. Positive reinforcement training is the right way to train dogs, and Monica is an expert at this. If you need any proof besides this testimonial and others on this page - just spend one minute around her two dogs Dublin and Moki who have the sweetest disposition - which can be accredited to the positive and loving environment they were raised. Would use again in the future with another pup.

Monica was the 3rd dog trainer we went to for our new rescue puppy, Rue. We were blown away with her positive reinforcement training and her ability to communicate with our puppy. The reason that sold me was Monica’s communication with us the entire time. If we had a question or concern she responded very quickly. This was comforting for us as trainers typically leave you hanging unless your pup is being trained. You could tell she genuinely wanted the best for us and our pup. She gave us plenty of exercises to work on at home with our pup to continue the training at home. I would highly recommend her training for a new puppy. We had such a pawsitive experience. Seems cliché to say she’s the best, but I’d be lying if I said she wasn’t. I contacted Monica for help with my cocker spaniel, Millie, who will be one year on March 20th. Millie is a great girl, a little wild at times, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I heard about Moca Paws from a friend, and I consider myself a decent dog owner, but figured why not. Millie always had a “tugging” problem while she was on a leash during on our daily walks. Monica showed me a few commands and tricks that made a huge difference; Millie doesn’t have to wear a harness anymore, just a collar, and stays right next to me... needless to say I will be calling in the future. Something scared my dog several months ago and he's been afraid to go on walks ever since. After months of trying, I decided to find a trainer to help him get over his fear. I found Monica through social media and I cannot say enough good things about her! It's only been a few days since his training and I'm already seeing improvements. My husband and I recently worked with Monica to help train our 3 year goldendoodle and we could not have had a better experience. We used a different training company when our dog was a puppy and then went a couple years without any training. With a new baby coming soon, we (and our dog) desperately needed a training refresher and after one session with Monica, we knew her recommendations and positive reinforcement techniques would help out tremendously. My four year old German Shorthaired Pointer, Jet, has a lot of basic training, but I wanted to refine his loose leash walking and sit and stay skills. Monica was absolutely amazing with him! She has a very calm demeanor and you can tell she definitely loves dogs. Jet warmed up to her instantly! While we've only had one session with her, I've already seen so many improvements in his walking and his overall behavior in the house because he's getting physical and mental stimulation daily. Monica also provided me with a follow up focus list for me to refer to while I continue working with Jet in between sessions. She also sent a super detailed recommendation list of activities to practice, treats to buy, and toys and games for Jet's mental stimulation. I can't recommend Moca Paws enough!!

Monica was SO amazing with my Enzo! She is so sweet, and great with my (crazy) fur baby! She is also absolutely amazing about including the owner in the training! I think that helped so much that I was able to keep up the things we learned in between sessions! She also uses 100% positive reinforcement! She does not use any harmful or mean ways to train and I absolutely LOVE that! 10/10 highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I could never say enough awesome things about Monica and Moca Paws! We brought home a corgi puppy, Cash, and Monica helped us to make the transition flawless! Monica is working with my Goldendoodle Love who is currently 9 months old. I was so worried because my girl is shy and takes a while to warm up to new people usually but she took to Monica immediately. Monicas approach was perfect for Love, commanding but not abrasive. I can't express enough how wonderful it has been working with Monica in helping my pup with some of his behavioral issues. I was amazed at how quickly his behaviors improved in such a short time. Moca Paws emphasis on positive reinforcement really opened my eyes to how much more effective this method of training really is as opposed to more forceful training we are so used to seeing.
