I was referred to this facility by a fellow camper we met on the road when I complimented them on their beagle. We were also in the area and expected to fly out of MCO for the holidays and needed a boarding facility. Coming into this evaluation, I knew and was told “it wasn’t cheap”. The online portal and interaction prior to booking the evaluation was fairly easy enough. Just make sure that your pup has ALL their required vaccinations and you upload it in the portal. Initial eval and training was done with Rina/Joleen. My pup stayed for an entire month over the holidays. I was sent photos and videos daily so I was watching the progress. Pick up required about 2hrs of training: watching a ppt presentation and copying some of the commands hands on. I came back a second day to get help with correcting the commands and any additional questions. All in all, the change in my 8 mo old beagle was night and day. He used to bark incessantly so we couldn’t bring him out in public. Barked at every other dog, people walking by, at the store, at the park, while waiting in the car. It was very frustrating and we couldn’t go anywhere! He stole paper towels, food off the table, my kids toys every chance he gets. And he growls if you come near his bone. Now, we are just AMAZED and SHOCKED how reactive he is to the “Leave it!” “Stay” “Place” and so on. It’s like a totally different dog. You could drop a snack in front of his nose and he wouldn’t even budge unless he’s allowed to eat it (!!!) We’re able to walk him around peacefully, even when a bunch of dogs are around. He sits still and wait til I finish pouring out his food, til I’m ready to walk out the door, etc etc. no longer charging at it like a raging bull. No longer begging at the dinner table. Last night he grabbed a paper towel and I said leave it, he dropped it like a hot potato and backed away. I used to have to pry that out of his mouth! So grateful to Rina/Joleen for taking such great care of my pup! I can tell he totally obeys them and enjoys training with them. So although my gut twisted at hearing the total cost, I now feel it was worth every penny. It’s like paying for a brand new perfect dog that comes fully-trained and obeys your every command (praying emoji)!! (Or this is probably the cost of training the humans LOLLL!)

Highly recommend! Their trainers are very knowledgeable and work with you as the owner to continue training at home and offer follow ups and check ins (THIS ASPECT IS KEY, dogs need repetition and the trainers will give you a very good backbone to essentially learn to train your dog the correct way and keep up with it at home so that it will actually STICK for the long run). Overall I am so grateful for their work and efforts. Kris really knows and cares about dogs, but he cares even more about making sure the owners understand what they need to continue at home and make sure you understand the whole picture. My rescue dog was a big stress of mine until I trusted CFK9 with him. Once an intense leash biter, now I can walk him like a normal dog and he’s much better listening to us around the house also.

I was having some serious issues integrating my 3 German Shepherds, two adopted (ages 2F and 3M) and one purchased (age 3M from a breeder), so much so that two of the three of them couldn’t even be in the same room together. I sent all 3 to work with Rina, the Rehabilitation Manager, and holy cow what a change! Rina was extremely communicative throughout the entire process and provided the necessary training for the dogs, and more importantly, me, for our little pack to stay together. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. One of my dogs had some stomach issues during his stay and Sam, the Health and Wellness coordinator, was on top of all his needs and even helped me find a better food for all three to eat. If I hadn’t moved out of state, I would absolutely continue to use CFK9 for all my training/boarding needs.

Where do I start with this fine facility. Let's start with the property itself, just amazing! Spacious, organized, clean, beautiful. The staff, professional, freindlly, passionate and very knowledgable. If you are looking for experience and results, this is the place.

We were extremely excited to bring our dog there for training after communicating with Kris over the phone and text to set up an evaluation. We set up an appointment for an evaluation and when we got there, about 15 minutes early, the staff had no idea we were coming for an evaluation. Around 15 minutes before the evaluation that we scheduled for 2 pm, the staff told us it would be 20-30 minutes for Kris to finish the evaluation he had before us. We had no problem waiting and we were understanding that he may be running late. 15 minutes pass and another trainer tells us she will open the dog park for us in 10 minutes if Kris is not finished so our dog can get her energy out. 20 minutes later the trainer finally opens up the park. Once again we had no problem waiting. 30 more minutes pass and we still have not met Kris for the evaluation. At this point it is 45-50 minutes past our scheduled evaluation and we leave. Kris finally comes up to us at our car and is unapologetic about the situation and asks us if we want to reschedule. We did not want to reschedule because we drove nearly an hour to get to the facility and our day had been wasted. Had he simply apologized for the inconvenience we may have considered doing the evaluation, but after waiting for 50 minutes past our scheduled evaluation we left. We are extremely displeased with the service provided (or lack thereof), especially since we were excited due to the many great reviews.

We put our dog through puppy training at their old location. Recently we decided to put our now almost 2 yo and 4 yo mini goldendoodles through training at their new facility. Here they have thought of everything! If you are thinking about training your dog here please do. The property they have is amazing. Personally we worked with Ciara. The entire three weeks they were away I felt like they were being cared for and having a great time while still learning what they needed too. She would constantly give me updates and pictures. Even after the comprehensive send home I am still able to contact her to ask questions, and she even helped me book a boarding for them to come back! She really goes above and beyond, and you can tell she truly loves what she does. This location is not the closest for us, but I wouldn’t leave my dogs anywhere else now! Thank you Central Florida K9!

I absolutely love Florida Central K-9. My experience has been with Ciera, who is absolutely incredible. My family sent 2 of our dogs their for board and train and she truly made it the best transition possible with so many updates and pictures on our dogs progress. One of my dogs is a high anxiety and low confidence German shepherd who came back a different dog. She has learned so much and grown to be the best possible version of herself with Ciera's help. She now feels confident enough to say hello to people and doesn't feel anxious when walking past other dogs. The other is just a puppy with a very short attention span, who now knows all his basic commands and knows he has to listen. I will be sending the puppy back for off-leash training with Ciera once he is old enough. I highly recommend Central Florida K-9 to anyone I know interested in training.

Hello to all, My fiancé and have a 1 year old German Shepherd/Husky named Rookie. Before his training, Rookie could be described as a very anxious, fearful, and destructive dog. While Rookie has never shown aggressive behavior, it became our fear that he would start exhibiting aggressive tendencies if his anxiety was left unchecked. We decided on Central Florida K9 because of the confidence and support they showed. We took Rookie in for his evaluation and Rookie was on his best behavior, however, after we left Rookie’s anxiety became more apparent to the point that he was transferred from obedience training to behavior rehabilitation where he met his new trainer, Rina. I won’t lie, we were concerned when we heard this news, however, we were quickly put at ease after speaking with Rina and seeing all the turn around stories of dogs she worked with that were like Rookie. I will admit that I was not expecting much improvement cause at this point, as bad as it sounds, I believed Rookie was far from the sharpest tool in the shed. In fact, he was as sharp and graceful as a sledgehammer. Rina did an amazing job keeping us updated, showing us pictures and videos of his progress. It was definitely a lil rocky at the beginning of his training, but after a few updates we could start to see Rookie coming out of his shell. When we returned 35 days later to pick Rookie up he was a completely different dog! He was less anxious and learned so many commands that we never thought he would. Thank you Rina for changing our lives and giving Rookie the confidence and calmness that he so desperately needed. We will be forever grateful.

Great experience with my GSD Lincoln❤️ I have the pleasure to work with Rina, and she’s fantastic. Everyone at the facility is super welcoming, and I can’t tell you how well they take care of the animals here… Highly recommend!!

I would like to thank the Team at Central Florida K9 for an outstanding job. Especially Rina Sullivan and her Rehabilitation Team. Our adopted 11month old Catahoula Mix “Izzy” was in desperate need to grow confidence, become socialized, and to help overcome and control her fears and anxieties. From the moment we sat down with Rina during our evaluation, we knew that Central Florida K9’s 40-day Board and Train program was the right direction. During Izzy’s stay, we received almost daily updates on her progress with both videos and photos which helped us be assured that our pup was in GREAT CARE and making great progress. At the end of the program, training did not stop there. The care that this team has for the success of both the dog and their humans continues with follow-up sessions and suggestions. We surely made the right choice in selecting Central Florida K9 and are thrilled to continue to work with them as we continue to grow the abilities of our Catahoula. Again thank you Rina and Team for an outstanding job.

I have been having issues with my Miniature Australian Shepherd, Sassie, displaying aggressive behavior toward people or dogs that approach us when we are out in public. I want to be able to take her on walks or go to pet-friendly businesses. I am also interested in agility work with Sassie. I decided to have her evaluated by a behavioral trainer at Central Florida K9 after seeing a successful transformation in training a dog that belongs to a friend. Rina evaluated Sassie and recommended the Board and Train program at CFK9. Sassie and Rina worked well together, and Sassie excelled during her training. Rina improved Sassie's confidence and reinforced her basic obedience during training. Sassie was ready to come home early from the scheduled training. Sassie is much more confident and well-mannered when out on walks. I am even able to take her into pet-friendly businesses. I could not do either of these without her barking and lunging on her leash before training with Rina. Currently I am working with Rina to learn more about what I should be doing while handling Sassie so she maintains her confidence in her situations or environments that could be stressful to her. Central Florida K9 has a reliable, professional and dedicated trainer in Rina. She is the type of trainer who only uses positive reinforcement to modify a dog's behavior Sassie is much happier and relaxed, and I am learning how to be more aware of how to interact with her thanks to Central Florida K9.

I adopted a four yo heartworm positive full German Shephard, Justice. After treatment, I realized I needed some additional help. After consultation with Ciera and a facility tour, I was comfortable leaving my new boy in their care for board and train. About two weeks later, Justice came home a different boy. Not as stubborn and following the commands, he learned almost perfectly. The additional follow on training for "me" was super helpful too. I'm much more comfortable with Justice on walks, and he gets better every day. I will continue to train with Justice at Central Florida K9 and highly recommend them. Ciera particularly has the magic touch with German Shepherds.

I brought my newly adopted 6m German shepherd to CFK9 for an evaluation for basic training and behavioral issues. $3600 later he is still the same. Maverick was not fully potty trained, could not walk on a leash without pulling, jumped on people and barked at both people and dogs on the leash. He also fence fought with our neighbors dogs which was the primary reason for me caving and deciding on a board and train program. At his first evaluation I was quoted $3200 at the high end for his program. COVID-19 began to increase and being a nurse I was unable to take maverick back for a few months. When I brought him back he was fully potty trained and knew basic commands sit stay down shake circle etc. Despite this my quote went up $400 to $3600 at the high end but was told that he could probably be out of there faster because he “didn’t seem that bad”. I was assured with high confidence he would have manners and I left very hopeful. Fast forward a month and a week I was finally able to pick up Maverick. He was walked on a leash in front of me to showcase his new “training” and to take him home I had to sign a paper stating that I was happy with his training without even being able to see how his behavior was modified from his stay. After his program he is no better with his commands, still fence fights, jumps on people, still barks at people and dogs, and is not crate trained. I took the hour drive back to CFK9 a week after he returned home for a follow up and he was immediately barking at everything there. He was worked again there by the trainers and I was told they would make a home visit to try and correct his issues. At his home visit I was told the fence fighting was a hard situation for any dog and that unfortunately I would have to work with him daily to help correct it even though I thoroughly explained the situation at his evaluation. For the nearly 4K that I spent I could have taken a month off work and worked with him daily myself. With my experience I don’t feel that they are equipped to deal with high drive working breeds that have behavioral issues.

Recently, we brought our 6 year old female German Shepherd to Central Florida K9. We chose CFK9 after researching k9 training facilities for aggressive dogs. Our GSD is the sweetest and most loyal dog we've ever owned. However, because of her loyalty she is very protective of us and our property. Upon our arrival we met Kris and Rina, the dynamic duo! They gave us a tour of the immaculate facility and evaluated our dog. We decided to leave her in their care that very day. Nearly every day during her 40 day stay, Rina emailed and sent us photos of our dog's progress. We missed our sweet girl, but knew we must do this to protect her. On pick up day, Rina gave us a lengthy evaluation and progress report of our girl while she was in training. Then, she trained us. We left there knowing what our responsibilities are. Upon arriving for her first post training session, our dog was very excited to see Rina and Kris. That let us know that Rina and Kris love the dogs they work with and they build relationships with them. We are so please with the changes in our GSD. She is now confident and disciplined. We are planning to continue with advanced training at CFK9. We can't thank the dynamic duo enough for returning to us a more secure dog.

We came to Central Florida K9 to get some help with our 5 month old cane corso. Ever since we got our dog, we knew he would grow fast and we quickly realized that we needed professional assistance with obedience training. Before coming to Central FL K9, we had already spent over three thousand dollars for a one month boarded training elsewhere. Unfortunately, we didn’t see much improvement in our dog’s ability to listen and follow through with commands after the experience. We also were not given much instruction on what to practice with him after he left the facility. When we brought our dog home, he was pulling us down the street during walks, lunging toward moving cars and we were nervous about bringing him around people since he was not listening to us. We are very grateful for Kristen and our experience with Central FL K9 over the last month. Kristen evaluated our dog and kept us involved in the training process every step of the way. We signed up for stay and train twice a week. After each session, Kristen ran through what they had practiced that day, spent time teaching us the drills, provided constructive feedback/correction, patiently answered every question we had and helped ease our concerns with our ever growing puppy. She also provided report cards after each session that reiterated the information covered so that we could review and practice what we went over at home. This was SUPER helpful and encouraging as we focused in on small, specific learning goals. Words can’t describe how thankful we are for Kristen and the love and care she has shown our puppy. Our boy is obsessed with her and gets so excited when he sees her. Kristen is a super knowledgeable dog trainer and you can tell she is passionate about what she does. The support she has given us as new puppy owners is exceptional. We feel that she not only asks us what our goals are (weekly) but she really listens and makes thoughtful decisions with the end goal in mind. She has helped us become confident dog owners that now have the skills to help ensure a safe, high quality, stress free way of life for our pup. With her support and guidance over the last month, we feel such a greater bond and connection to our dog. & For that we are forever thankful. In less time than his previous boarding experience, our boy is now a AKC S.T.A.R. puppy who heels during walks, obeys when we ask him to stay in place, has better focus and is just fun to be around. All thanks to Kristen and the staff at Central Florida K9!

I don’t know where to begin. Rina and Chris and the entire staff at Central Florida K9 are the best of the best! My best friend, Onyx was a holy terror before he arrived at their facilities. As a rescue (my first) and a super mixed breed aka super mutt (1/4 Huskie, 1/4 Golden Retriever, 1/4 Cane Corso, 1/4 Pit Bull) my hands were full attempting to get this year and a half boy to listen to the most basic commands consistently let alone not attack other large male dogs. 40+ days later, Rina and Chris have taught my buddy how to be such an awesome and responsive pup! It’s amazing and I plan on continuing with Onyx’s education at Central Florida K9. They are a blessing and they have reduced the anxiety in my home exponentially. I’m forever grateful.

My husband and I brought our 3 yr old Pit/Lab mix Donovan to Rina and the team after an incident with our neighbor. They did an in depth evaluation upon arrival and made us feel 100% comfortable with leaving our pup at their facility for 40 days. After the 40 days we picked up a well behaved boy with a full set of commands. At home we work with him daily and have seen a HUGE improvement. We now visit them every few weeks and are working on his Good Canine Citizen tests. Thank you to Rina, Kris and everyone at Central Florida K9! You guys have changed our relationship with our dog in such a positive way, we are so grateful!

Nothing but great things to say about Central FL K-9. My boyfriend and I rescued our dog, Elliot, in college. After 3 years of being unable to control 80 lbs of puppy-like overexcitement, disobedience and reactivity towards dogs and animals, we decided to look at professional trainers. We live in Jacksonville but had a friend who had wonderful results. They were able to get Elliot in immediately for a 28 day board and train. We were sad to leave him but knew it was an investment for us and Elliot. Rina and Kris sent us pictures, videos, and updates during Elliot’s stay. We couldn’t believe how obedient he was upon pick-up. Elliot is more confident in himself and looks to us for guidance. They truly changed our relationship with him! Elliot is living his best life these days - we love showing off his new skills and taking him everywhere we can! Training never stops – we continue to work with Elliot daily and are confident knowing Rina and Kris will answer any questions we have. We are forever thankful for Rina, Kris and the entire staff at Central FL K-9. My only regret is not calling them years ago!

This organization is a community to help you with initial obedience training for your dog and then ongoing growth for not just your pup but all members of your family. Kya, our first Belgian Malinois, was an intelligent, loving, protective 6 month old pup when we took her to Central Florida K9. We didn’t have consistent basic commands for her. Rina and Kris were unbelievably amazing and sent us pictures everyday. The owner Rock, of Central Florida K9, is active in knowing which dogs and families are involved in the programs. They have different programs for all types of dogs and provide ongoing training after basic training. This community provides ongoing support with so many ways to continue training and practice, whether it’s agility training, interacting with other dogs, doggie days out, or running with the fast cat. Central Florida K9 is worth the trip, the time, the invest, and the friendship. I’m grateful to Rina and Kris for everything they have done, and continue to do, for our family.

I brought my 7 year old alapaha here after we had an unfortunate biting incident at home. I was worried you can't teach an old dog new tricks, especially a bulldog but we were proven wrong. Rena and her team did a great job with Chip and his demeanor has definitely changed. Would highly recommend!

Our dog was riddled with anxiety and struggled with controlling her excitement. Rina did an amazing job curbing her anxiety and showing us commands to help continue education at home. Immediately our dog showed vast improvement when we got her back. We had two follow up appointments that helped us master commands and gain advice to take our dog to the next step. I’m very excited and pleased with the knowledge and training they have provided me and my dog. If you are on the fence about doing this training, let me say this. They are fully capable of helping mold and guide your dog, but you have to make the commitment as well. You have to put the work in at home as well. This is something I am still working on myself. Thank you Rock and Rina for giving me the tools to give my dog a better life. I promise I’ll do my part to make sure your work was not for nothing.
