Extra Care Animal Hospital Davie, Florida

So let me just say I have been to many vets in the various places I’ve lived and this one is above any beyond the best one I’ve come across. My family has been bringing our animals here for many years but I have only recently started coming as my own cat dad. All of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and professional from the bottom up. If you want your furry friend to be in hands of people who truly care and are capable, then this should be where you take them

Dr. Thannum and her staff are amazing. They saved my boy Merle, and most importantly they truly care for the animals they are charged with. Care to the point where my dog loves going in the office for a visit.

Received a shocking diagnosis and Dr. Thannum has been my rock. She understands me and my pet. She takes time to help my pet and I cannot wait to see her again. My little boy is going to be just fine. Dr. Thannum is knowledgeable, accommodating, sweet, and does not force you into pricey treatments or unnecessary medications. She wants what is best for your pet and respects you as a person trying to give a better life for your pet. If you are hesitant about your former vet like I was, please make the switch to Dr. Thannum. She is absolutely sunshine in a bottle. <3

My kitten got sick. I took him to a near vet near home on a Saturday. I was told they only take appointment. to take him to an Emergency Hospital that cost a lot. I started to call around and every one told me the same thing, run the emergency hospital. so my next vet was Extra care animal hospital. yes they request appointment on a Saturday, but with out hesitation they told me to come in asap. the doctor took a look at my cat and gave me to options. My can now is recovering and starting to be active. I will not take my cat any where else then this location. Thanks for caring about our family member.

The worst Dr. EVER.. Dr. Jodi Thannum doesn’t care about animals only money.. She is the worst veterinarian., Do not take your pet here..!!! She will cheap out & your pet will get an infection cuz she opts for the cheapest lower quality supplies & does not take time to perform the quality work necessary for your beloved pet.. A prior employee..!!!

Dear Dr. Thannum: We would just like to take a moment of time to thank you for all of the years of kind, loving care you have given our little baby Jolie. For 15 years you have provided so much assistance in dealing with all of her medical needs and issues. When the end came we were so happy with the final resting services provided. Her cremated remains, the lovely box, the clip of her hair and her paw imprint in plaster was not expected. It was such a lovely surprise to receive. I love Dr. Thanum and her staff. They are always friendly and take such good care of my dog. They always take me in right away. The only time I had to wait was because of an emergency. I feel like I am in good hands!

all I am going to say is there are many Vets in the area and save yourself a lot of grief and pick another place to take your family member for care. My boy is gone because of mistakes made.

I have worked and brought my pets to many animal hospitals, but nothing compares to working and treating them here with Dr. Thannum and Dr. Dell. Both doctors have such compassion for animals and that is very hard to come by now a days, everywhere you go is all about the money and getting you in and out without any relationship built with you and your pet. Its incredable to have gone to several vets to figure out why my shepard had constant diarrhea. Without any testing (any other vet would automatically charge, atleast for blood) She took an educated guess and she was right. Oh my god. Imagine 8 years and several VETS later, all they could do was make Baron better temporarily. Look we all know its a business, yet she takes to a complete higher level.SHE CARES..... My Baron is finally well, Dr.T didnt even know his history and fixed him. I took my other pet to Dr. Thamun because he just wouldn't eat.. right off the bat I thought stomache issues, It took 5 min. and she checked his teeth. 2 days later a surgery was preformed. Dr. T promised it wouldn't cost more then what was quoted reguarless of what ever came after that. treatment, meds, etc,, she held true to her word. I am not one to put reviews, I felt this was necessary. This office is by far the best and only place I will ever go. I travel 19 miles and have no problem doing so. Extra Care goes the extra step to take care of all your pets needs. In an emergency they are there, when you have a question, they are there, for regular check ups, they are there. My dog is my life and i trust these people 100%. Don't know what i would do without them! Love them all!

Friendly, kind, compassionate and knowledgeable staff who treat your fur baby with the utmost care. As soon as you walk in it feels welcoming and calmly reassuring. My senior doggie daughter has always been terrified visiting the vet, but we have now thankfully found the very best care right in my neighborhood!

Dr. Thannum and her staff have been taking care of our dogs for over a decade. It’s the best experience with a veterinarian we ever had. I highly recommend them. We also use them to board our dogs when we travel. It’s so comforting to travel and know your dogs are well cared for by people you trust.
