Brought two rescue Australian Cattle Dogs 6 years ago and never looked back. They've both had major AKC Agility success. Many new friends, patient and excellent instructors Remember- these are VOLUNTEERS, and when I read the occasional negative review I have to wonder if they attended the same Upper Suncoast DTC I do! Be patient getting your new dog into any particular class, ask questions, and practice at home and you will enrich your experience with your new partner beyond your imagination.

The trainers really care and take the time to make sure you learn how to train your dog one paw at a time!

Great trainers and obviously a well established dog training school. My puppy enjoyed ever minute and the trainers went over the top with helping the people and puppies that needed a little extra attention.

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED! Signed up for basic obedience. Let me tell you, YouTube has better training videos than you will receive at this facility. Extremely poor instruction, technique of instruction lacking and general empathy and compassion for dogs and owners extremely poor. Bottom line: save your $110 and seek training from a licensed trainer.

Smaller club with a large variety of classes for beginner, novice, and advance dog/handler. I will be back!

I signed up online for basic/novice obedience for my 7.5 months old Vizsla, when we arrived Heidi asked me what kind of training my dog had and I told her puppy preschool with SPCA and due to COVID I had been training him. I’ve had 7 big dogs in the past and took them all to obedience training ( in Germany, Switzerland and now the US, depending where we lived) plus I’ve been volunteering with a dog shelter for the past 9 years, caring and training the shelter dogs, so my puppy might not have been to a training facility but I have been working with him. When she heard he only had a puppy class, that’s when Heidi made up her mind, wanted to send us home right away but then told us to watch for a bit. We watched the two present dog handlers walking their dogs in heel and then she called us in for recall and after on recall, my pup came and set by my side she told me that he was to sit in front of me and stated that this wouldn’t work, that we would take away from the two established handlers and should come back for basic in January. My overall feeling was that we were not welcomed, neither by Heidi nor by the two clients who didn’t even acknowledge us, it seemed very cliquey. Heidi didn’t give us a chance from the get go. I’m disappointed as I took agility with my other dog at this place, years ago and back then, I had a great experience with the trainer. This time not so much to the point that I don’t feel like going back.

Trainers are friendly and knowledgeable. They take the time to answer questions you might have and work thru problems you are having in the training process.

This was a great experience for my dog and I. The trainer was excellent and we learned some very basic obedience commands. I would highly recommend this training center. They make learning fun!

Asked if we signed up for next class before knowing if my pup graduated. Later, preprinted certificates were distributed. Everyone gets a certificate but some say participation not graduation. So the question of did I sign up for the next class seemed odd as why would I spend more money to repeat the same course? Just not happy with the entire experience.

The trainers can be a bit much, to say the least, and there's nothing they teach that you can't get for free off of YouTube, but it's a good place to get your dogs to learn a little self control around other dogs.

Mediocre, they didn't want to work with our pup at all. We where ignored the entire time even when we waited after class to ask questions and get help. We went to get some basic training along with help getting our puppy to politely greet and interact with other dogs/puppies, he gets a bit excited and will not listen to commands when other dogs are around. We assumed they would be able to help since it is a puppy class and puppies tend to be easily distracted. Boy where we wrong. On the first night we where told we have to sign up for the next class that night or we would never get a spot. Not even knowing if our puppy had passed the puppy S.T.A.R. Certification. We stopped going 4 weeks in it was a waste of time off work to not see any small improvement. I had called the first time and left a voicemail saying we wouldn't be going to class that night. I never received a call back saying what was taught in class. After the second week I didn't even bother with calling. They clearly don't care about you or your dog. We never received a single call asking if everything was alright or why we stopped showing up to class

If you are looking for basic obedience for your dog in a loving and supportive environment where your dog is treated with love, I would look into other places to get basic obedience training. Everything my dog and I would do during the class was always wrong. And improvements week to week were never recognized. It is not a good environment for rescues or dogs that came from rough starts.

Really great group of dog lovers who work hard to help Clearwater's pet lovers. They are all volunteers and do great work. You will learn a lot there.

Great place for obedience, agility, and other dog training. Just finished sub-novice obedience with our 2 yr old mini Australian Shepherd. He now can be recognized by the AKC as a Canine Good Citizen.

We had a 5 mo old Beagle puppy that is a bit high strung. She is an aggressive chewer and will bite hard during play. She is a jumper on other people and dogs and pulls on leash when walking. We felt that she needed some good training. She is not the first dog we have had but definitely the most feisty. Saw great reviews on this company so we signed up. IT WAS A DISASTER!  They only wanted to work with the dogs that were behaving.  Would just walk away when my husband would ask questions...didnt want to be bothered with a high maintenance pup. Isn't that the point of going to training..to teach her and us how to help her ? After the second class of no help we stopped going...they obviously were only interested in working with the easy dogs. They never even bothered to call to see if there was a problem when we didn't show up for the 3rd class.  That was 80 bucks down the drain! We took her to a behaviorist through our vets office and let me tell you this....we have only had 2 classes and what a difference! She now will sit on command...she is learning appropriate chewing and not biting.  She also has learned not to jump on ppl as much and quickly stops if she does and walks beautifully on her lead. She still has work to do but what a difference after just 2 classes compared to a nightmare and no improvement at all with Upper Suncoast.
