Furry Friends Veterinary Center Clearwater, Florida

This is the best veterinary practice in the Tampa Bay area. The doctor and staff are so caring and so good at what they do. We have been to many vets in the area, and everything is always so clinical, impersonal, and stressful. The difference at Furry Friends is that everyone is so kind, comforting, and loving with my cat. It really makes a visible difference in her stress (and mine). They always give me the sense that they absolutely love animals and that my cat's wellbeing and comfort are top priority. I love knowing that she is in such great hands, and will keep bringing her back here.

I brought my two cats here yesterday. I loved this vet. Last year, I took my cats to a different vet, and I couldn’t bring my cats inside due to Covid, which had me worried since my oldest cat is shy and scared of other humans, and tried to bite a vet a few years ago when they were giving her the yearly shots, but she is completely fine if I’m with her in the room and calming her down. It’s never gone badly when I’ve been there to keep her calm. I was so thankful to hear that I could be in the room with my cats. The vet and office staff were so nice and amazing and helpful, since bringing my cats in is harder since I’m in a wheelchair. I don’t know yet if I’m staying in this area long term, but if I am, I am totally going back to this vet. I watched my oldest cat for signs of her getting scared in case I had to hold her for the shots, but you could tell she knew the vet was a cat person. She was so calm! I highly recommend this vet. If she can keep my shy cat calm, she is clearly a good person. They will even do the county license so you don’t have to make a separate trip to do that. This is another big reason why I will go back if I stay local.

I just found this clinic. Dr. Maedel, her husband, and staff are super nice, warm, and caring people. I was very impressed with the care they provided to my dog who broke his nail. My current vet could not fit me into their schedule, and I called around and got the same response. But when I called them, they were more than happy to get us in on a very short notice. You can tell how much they love working with animals. My dog was super happy to be at the vet office. Dr. Maedel took her time assessing my dog and explained clearly everything needing to be done. She is very smart but down to earth. I found her to be very trustworthy. She pointed out other areas of concern that my last vet did not. They just opened up, and with the level of care and frinedly atmosphere they create, I predict that their business is going to explode as soon as more people hear about them through word of mouth. Hands down I highly recommend them.

My cat had a severely swollen foot, likely a break, and we brought him in to Fury Friends. From walking in the door to walking out, it was a great experience for me and my little buddy. Primarily dealt with Bryan and Dr. Maedel, who were wonderful. They kept me up to speed on everything and they treated my dude like he was one of their own. I highly recommend Furry Friends and will be taking all of our pets here.

The first time I called, the receptionist picked up on the first ring. I was so pleasantly surprised at how kind and courteous everyone on the staff was while my new puppy was at her first check up. Definitely recommend Furry Friends as a local vet that I will continue to go to.

Took my sick little frenchie there when we couldn't get into my usual vet. Outstanding service, free to roam spaces, transparent with charges and blew me away with the Supreme level of customer service. Dr. Meadel, Andrew, and Jonie are wonderful and going to be coming here from now on.

The staff is absolutely amazing, they were so sweet and kind to my cat Mork. I think the entire staff on duty stopped in and gave him some love. And after the fact Mork got a little letter in the mail saying how nice it was to meet him. I love it definitely going to be my main vet from now on.

I can’t thank the lovely people at Furry Friends enough for always taking care of my babies so well! I have a very spicy cat named Kitty... like very very spicy... but they always treat her so kind, even when (like yesterday) she won’t even let them anywhere near her without full on fighting for her life ???? They always remember little things from past visits and try to make me feel better about my wild little girl and how they’ve dealt with worse before, even though she’s definitely gotta be up there with the craziest kitties they’ve treated ???? They give her space and try to let her calm down and came up with a great plan so we can get her in again soon but a lot more calm and slightly medicated ???? My other cat, Nuggie and my senior dachshund, Sweetie are a lot easier to examine and treat, but they always get the best treatment and are doted on which definitely makes me and them feel at ease. They dote on Kitty too, of course ☺️ I can’t say enough good things about this clinic and their staff! They are all so kind and explain things thoroughly but in a way you don’t miss anything and easy to understand. Their prices are very reasonable and I always leave Furry Friends feeling totally content and pleased about everything that was done/wasn’t done, etc. And I’m sorry again to Dr. Maedel and Jonie for having to experience the wrath of Kitty Girl!! ????????

Could never say enough positive things about this business and the staff. We were very anxious about finding a good vet for our kitten and we are so glad we came here. The #1 thing you need in a vet is one who genuinely cares and the staff here clearly does.

I highly recommend this center. It is super clean. I got there early, and 2 minutes past my appt time, I was given an apology the vet was taking extra time with a sick animal. First, they weren't behind, I was early and second that tells me they dont rush. If your furbaby is sick they will take all the time needed. We discovered my cat has 26 toes, they clipped her nails with ease, holding her just right. The ladies communicated so well on how my cat needed to be held. They really are good with animals, for real. I honestly havent seen such care and professionalism at a vet's office. They definitely have a family vibe to them. I had my very energetic 4 yr old with me and both the vet and her assistant we absolutely great with my cat and kid!! When it came for the vet to explain, her assistant took my daughter and cat to get a coloring book, which really helped me focus on what was going on. Its little things like that really matter. I most definitely will continue using this vet center! I could go on about all the great things but you get my point. Lol

We couldn’t have found a better place to take our kitten. Staff are super friendly, facility is always very clean, and we never waited long at all. Not only that but they genuinely care about all the pets that are brought to them and are very straightforward about the care they are providing. Really awesome place

Dr. Madel is without a doubt the definition of what you want in a veterinarian. Her and her staff could not be more knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough with the car that they provide. So much so that I travel over an hour for my dogs visits. Thank you for everything you all do!

My dog Baru was experiencing some really bad ear issues and I took him in to Furry Friends. Hillary and Andrew went above and beyond taking care of his issues. They walked me through the entire process with what was going on with him. His ear was literally swollen shut... He is doing better now and seems to already be recovering. Thanks guys for taking care of him as quickly as you did! Highly recommend Furry Friends to anyone looking for first class care of their pets.

It isn’t everyday that you experience service as fantastic as this group of people give. Our Khloe woke up this morning in pain (and a mess) from an abscessed anal gland. Our vet is closed on Saturday’s but Furry Friend’s took our call, got us right in and never once acted as though we were an inconvenience to them. They were so kind and supportive. Khloe is generally anxious at the vet and because they took the time to get to know her she relaxed and quickly gave them her trust— at one point even wanting to go to the back with the doctor as she was leaving the room. We were blown away. On top of all this, the bill was not ridiculous. Our current vet would have charged three times simply because it was an emergency visit to take advantage of the situation and they did not. We will immediately switch our vet to here and if you are on the fence about going… don’t. You will not regret it at all.

We love Furry Friends! Dr. Maedel is fantastic and so is her staff. They are so easy to get ahold of and responsive. They really spent time explaining what my pup needed, and their prices are reasonable. They took excellent care of my dog for a tooth cleaning and extraction. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

I just cannot say enough good things about this place!!!! They genuinely, and sincerely not only care about your pet, but also the mental state of how the pet feels, and its owner, when in their office. My 100 lb Rottweiler normally would have bad anxiety, and gets very defensive when getting her nails trimmed by other vets. Dr.Maedel at Furry Friends designed a great plan and strategy to allow my Rottweiler to feel as comfortable as possible with absolutely no stress on my Rottweiler, or me. They allowed me to stay to entire time to help keep my pet comfortable, as it also allowed me to be comfortable knowing that the procedure they were doing was gentle, and thorough.
