Woofdorf Astoria of Lakewood Ranch Bradenton, Florida

I am a nurse and it was very hard when I moved to the area to find a camp that was open early and stayed open later. Most were 8-5pm. I came accross Woofdorf and have been extremely satisfied ever since. The staff is friendly and Andrea has been a huge help making sure my pup is taken care of even on their busiest days (knowing I am a first responder). I feel safe knowing my pup is taken care of while I am taking care of others. My pup loves it there too (and it takes a lot to gain her trust) and that is what is most important.

The place is disgusting they barely even use bleach when they clean and never have enough cleaners in stock. The place is gross and they don’t take care of your dog at all. Unprofessional staff and management. Terrible company DO NOT TRUST YOUR DOG HERE IF U CARE ABOUT UR DOG TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE

My dog Chico has been going to Woofdorf Astoria for day care and boarding for a couple years and he loves it and so do I. His care is excellent as measured by his tiredness when he comes home from day care (so out and running with friends) and his great condition after extended boarding.

I brought my pups in today like a usually do for daycare and was greeted at the front door by someone who appeared to be training another individual. As I gave my pets names, I asked if they could get a bath since it had been my experience we could simply ask at drop-off and I was told they had no more spots left today. This was the second time this happened, but no big deal. After a few more seconds, the individual asked if I had updated records for vaccination. I had an appointment scheduled for the following week thinking they had a few more days. The rep told me they expired 3 days ago and "unfortunately, they could not take them." While I understand why they could not, the lack of empathy expressed by this individual was enough to ensure I do not return. Treating others with kindness can go a long way and I hope this individual can learn this lesson.

If you care for your pets DO NOT take them here!! The staff is awful and they do not care about you or your pets. I watched the live camera footage for hours and hours just to see the staff on their phones pushing the dogs away from them. Not only that but the staff was yelling at them from what I could see and disciplining them by picking them up by the collar with 2 feet off the ground. I do not even know how this kennel is still open due to all of the awful reviews and things people have said upon picking up their pets. It is SO shocking that there are even any 5 star reviews for this terrible place. ANY OTHER PLACE WOULD BE A BETTER OPTION FOR YOUR PETS. If you do not want to work with pets all day then don’t work at a kennel, simple as that.

Love the place Everytime I go my little boy loves it . Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the fact that's a little out of the way for me.

This is how my dogs were returned to me after a 6 day stay at Woofdorf. Both were swollen beyond belief, had bumps all over their head, and had open wounds all over them (indicative of scratching themselves raw) and contracted a skin infection due to the gashes in their skin. We were informed that our Golden has a hot spot on his neck on his 2nd day there, but things like that happen, especially when a dog is in a new place and is probably a bit nervous. They kept us relatively updated on him over the next few days, which we were grateful for, but we didn’t really have any reason to believe he was getting worse. On Tuesday morning, we were notified that our other dog was having some type of allergic reaction to something, and that he had bumps and open wounds all over his head and starting to migrate to his body and front arms. We picked both boys up around noon on Tuesday and they were in an absolutely deplorable condition. I’m not sure how a “reputable” company can tell me that my white dog had been fine 24 hours prior and was now covered in bumps and gashes, but Woofdorf clearly felt responsible enough to refund my money, which we felt was more than appropriate. We took them to the vet at 9:30 on Thursday (earliest we could get them in) and they’re were both diagnosed with a Staph infection and injected with steroids and given several weeks worth of antibiotics. The vet was visibly sympathetic looking at the horrible state both dogs were in. When we contacted Woofdorf regarding the vet bills, we were told by Lara that the infection was caught between the time we brought our swollen, gashes up, bumpy dogs home on Tuesday afternoon and then visiting the vet on Thursday morning. We are beyond happy that our dogs are recovering, albeit slowly, but the lack of responsibility taken by Woofdorf was, and continues to be, extremely disappointing. Their negligence put the health of my two babies at-risk, and I wouldn’t refer them to my worst enemy. If you care about the well-being of your animals while you’re out of town, I would strongly recommend that you find another establishment to board them at. Woofdorf neglected to care for my dogs in a safe and humane manner and I truly hope that this never happens to another pet owner. Seeing my dogs in the worst state that either have ever been in was heartbreaking.

I stopped in to inquire about their services for my puppy. When I entered and asked to get some information, the girl at the front desk looked less than thrilled to answer my questions. I wasn't offered a tour of the facility at all!!! She just rattled off prices. It left such a bad taste in my mouth I am not going to be using them!!

Amazing food and drinks all around. The wait for each course was longer than normal, bit great! Sushi Tots, Fried Chicken, Lamb Burger and S'mores dessert were amazing?

We boarded our two Boxers for the first this July. I can’t say enough about Woofdorf! They are wonderful. I especially love being able to text them for updates. They even took pictures upon my request and sent them via text! Both of our dogs were so happy there. They get to play all day and if the group play doesn’t work for your pup the will give them lots of walks throughout the day-all at no extra cost! We will definitely be back to Woofdorf!

My sister had recently boarded her 9 year old American bulldog at this facility, due to having to go out of town because of a family emergency. When she picked him up, he was covered in urine and feces. His eye was injured, he has a wound on his neck, and has been vomiting since. When my sister confronted the staff, they gave no explanation and brushed it off as no big deal, they informed her that “higher ups” would contact her. People trust in places like this to care for their pets, which are loved and are family. These people do not care, they just leave the animals in crates and do not tend to them. God knows how long this poor boy sat in a crate, laying in his own mess and injured before someone finally attended to him. As of now, a civil suit has been filed against Woofdorf, including a pending investigation by Manatee County into their practices for animal cruelty.

My dog was boarded for a weekend. I got him back and he was injured, covered in urine and feces, and has been I'll since. They wouldn't even acknowledge the issue. I'm truly appalled at this.

They just loooove my fur baby. You know your pup is happy when they get excited once you pull into the lot. When those doors open, my baby girl flies right in!

I don't know. I called as a first time customer. Left a vm and my call was never returned.

The people working at Woofdorf who greet my dog are very friendly and I love to see that my puppy’s tail is wagging when I drop her off. When I pick my dog up from doggy daycare she seems to be very happy. The people working at Woofdorf look like they are genuine pet lovers who are taking great care of my puppo when I need to drop her off for a few hours. I can’t thank them enough.

Take good care of my boy and open great hours for working peeps like me!!!

My dog and I love this place! The staff is the best and I think they had our names after our like...second visit?! My dog usually doesn't handle me handing her over to someone else particularly well, but as soon as she sees the Woofdorf staff, she's like, "BYE MOM!" I love that this is basically a one-stop for all my doggy needs. They've got grooming that I can take advantage of while she's at daycare, and their boarding is SO reliable. The cameras are awesome and they answer the text line so quickly and are so helpful! I will continue bringing my pup all the way from Tampa, because I don't want her in anyone else's hands. They are so patient and loving with my jumping bean!

My 3 dogs seem to enjoy their experience there! I like being able to see them on the cameras. They are exhausted when they come home, which is nice. The employees are very nice.

Thank you to all the staff at Woofdorf Astoria! What a wonderful place for dogs to play, be safe and be truly free to explore being with other dogs! I am grateful for a facility with this mindset and ammenities. Molly and Finn were well taken care of !!!! I will use and highly recommend Woofdor Astoria!

This daycare is awesome! My puppy broke her leg when she was young playing with another dog, and I was nervous about taking her to daycare and getting injured again. I originally tried a daycare down the road from here, and was not happy with the lack of engagement the staff had with the dogs. The staff at Woofdorf were very understanding of my concerns and she came back home a healthy, happy, and tired pup! I am confident that she was able to socialize with other dogs in a positive way. Will definitely return here.

My dog just spent a week here while I was on vacation. I shopped around because I wanted a place where he could play in their daycare all day and sleep at night with someone on site. Woofdorf provided everything I wanted, including a camera, so I could check in on him periodically during the day. I will absolutely book him here again :).
