Took my cat there for being dehydrated from vomiting & diarrhea. Intake vet suggested overnight with fluid & bloodwork. We called several times, no good updates. Told them we would pick him up the next day by noon. Walked in they suggested taking him to Blue Pearl with no real facts. Sat in the exam room waiting for an animal claiming the Vet was too busy. In the meantime, heard they Vet interviewing Techs. Our cat still not ready to go & they never rechecked his blood work properly. It was the worse ER trip I have ever had. Had to pay $500 X-ray interpretation. I demanded my cat & they said I needed to pay $2400 before they would give me my cat. A complete nightmare. I have my cat home now & Is doing fine. They wanted to make something out of it. I have talked to other people & they had bad experiences as well. Would never ever go there.

We brought our dog to this hospital at around 10 pm, Saturday January 8, 2022 because she was having difficulty breathing. We advised the technician who came to the car that she had a collapsed trachea, and her breathing was very strained and quick. He checked with the Vet inside, and told us they were "at capacity" and could not see us. We said can't the vet just take a quick look? He said she was not turning blue, so it was not an emergency. Mind you it was dark and we only had the window open, so there was no light on in the car. We thought the idea of n emergency clinic was to treat emergencies, not turn pets in need away. We would never return to this facility. If there was a "0" star rating, we would give it to this facility.

My dog had heartworm before I adopted him. Although he was heartworm free, he did develop congestive heart failure. I took him to SWVS for evaluation. I was very satisfied with their diagnosis and treatment plan. SWVS has the expertise and equipment to thoroughly evaluate an animal. They are well aware of the latest research and have my dog on a treatment plan that will actually help his heart get better. This is the second dog I have taken there for the same problem. They were so helpful and compassionate with Mickey all those years ago, I knew exactly where to take Yoda when he got that awful condition. You can trust these people!

Had to take my Yorkie to these amazing people! He had been scratching more increasingly by the day; for more than a week! And he was so uncomfortable.to say the least. One last minute trip here and he is back to a relaxed, none …

Took our sphinx cat in for echocardiogram, all clear. They were all so professional and nice to our cat, got us in as we were so worried it might be a heart issue as indicated by his reoccurring cough.

My little dog ate some chocolate and she got immediate, caring service....and she is just fine, thanks to your treatment...especially welcome on Christmas Day. These are wonderful vets who go out of their way to help you in crisis. Nver hesitate to use them--they were terrific!!!!

We live in Ohio but travel to SW Florida for the holidays to visit family. During our drive down before Christmas our Standard Poodle became oddly ill. We took him to an emergency vet in Florida who determined he had heart issues. Two clinics later (that night) we were referred to Southwest Florida Veterinary Specialists. I can not thank them enough for everything they did for our poodle boy. I've never sent my dogs away to stay with a vet. But the staff was so incredibly gentle and kind he actually offered to go with them. The office set up how they'd contact us and let us choose how much info we wanted overnight. They also assured us we could call anytime to check on him. I felt they were genuine. The next morning after rounds the vet called us and gave us the great news he was stable and could come home. She listened to our concerns of driving back to Ohio and prescribed him anti anxiety meds to help keep him relaxed and hopefully avoid this issue again. She talked about him like her own dog. When we picked him up a couple hours later, we were welcomed in by the day staff as kindly as the overnight staff. The hospital was incredibly busy (it was the Sunday before Christmas) yet the vet tech was patient and upbeat. I was so impressed! When we got him back he was relaxed and although unsteady on his feet seemed happy to also see the tech. When I got home and looked over his paperwork I noticed they left comments on it that really showed they got to know him. He doesn't like tile floors and instead of saying how he was uncooperative they noted he didn't like the floors (not that he couldn't or wouldn't walk on them). I felt even more at ease we chose the right vet. The next day we got a follow up call from them checking on our fur baby. They have been SO easy to work and communicate with. We don't get that near us. The final good straw was they issued us a refund on part of his stay becuase they didn't use the full deposit. It was already the cheapest emergency visit ever, even with an overnight stay. I was shocked in a very great way. We can't recommend them enough. I wish we lived closer more than just 1 week a year!

We had a very good experience . The exam was very fast, the doctor was excellent both visits. We had the full report by E-Mail when we got home with the results and care to give. We would highly recommend this Veterinary service

We took our puppy in at 2am on December 23. We called ahead and they asked us to describe his symptoms. They told us it didn’t sound urgent but if we wanted to bring him in right away, they could take him right back. Being an overly cautious dog owner, we took him in and they took him right back when we got there and we were only there for about 45 minutes before they sent us on our way with some antibiotics. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I could tell they are animal lovers who truly care about their patients. The office was very clean too. I will 100% go back again.

I took my dog for a poison emergency issue and they inmediately took care of him and guided me thru every step I had to make. The place has private waiting rooms and they kept me informed all the time. The most important thing is that they take care of the animal and they don't do it for the money. They told me at first that my dog needed to stayfor 2 nights but they called me the nest day and said that he was doing great and no need to have him stayed for another night. Very professional, very caring

Late night ER vet was terrible. Told us our cat went blind with no compassion. Nurses Were in the back gossiping. Had no idea what the causes were or why he was having trouble breathing. Regret bringing out cat here for emergency care, it was a sad night for us and they could care less. Find another place if you need after hours emergency care

I brought my cat in for constipation/possible bladder infection. We were the only ones there. We were there for 2 and a half hours. We were not allowed in the room during the exam. Receptionist kept leaving for long periods of time and we couldn’t find anyone in the building. We rang the bell twice and nobody, anywhere. When my mom saw someone in a window in a door, a lady with the worst attitude yelled at us and open the door. The took forever to discharge and even when the doctor came to consult us it didn’t seem like she knew that much, and wasn’t even prepared with round about prices about how much things could be, like a surgery. We will be reporting this place! Do not go. Find another place, even if it’s an emergency.

Dr. Arsenault is fabulous. She’s thorough in her examinations explains things in a way you can understand. It is evident that she loves what she does. It is wonderful to watch how she interacts with my dog. The staff is very nice they take you right on time and inform you of what to expect during that visit upfront.

They saved my dogs life in 2019 when another said to feed her steaks and let nature takes its course... She is still doing well and a great companion. Great Staff and Dr's. Very compassionate for you and the dog. I wish I could use as a full time vet but they are Specialists in their profession. Thank you for what you do. TVT

My family and I brought our dog there this week and we thought we were going to lose her. We were so impressed with how amazing our nurse Jackie and the staff were. She made sure to call and update us every chance she got, go over everything in detail and help us make decisions we had no idea could help save her life. We didnt want to lose our babygirl and were willing to do whatever we needed. So grateful we had someone to help guide us during this hard time. What turned into a day of worry and feeling hopelessness turned into a night of relief and straight amazement. We are so thankful to everyone there who helped save our girl. She is back home with her loving family and forever grateful to this place and our nurse!!!!

Worst hospital, never take your pet there, first I had to pay 2,000 a day for my dog, he was there for three days, and in the end they only gave to us the option to put him to sleep. Since day one only they talk about to put him to sleep, putting pressure on us. I took my dog to home and took him to another veterinarian, thanks to God my Cookie is perfect fine, healthy, playing and enjoying life. Every time I see him playing I feel like cry, thinking about almost they kill my baby. NEVER TAKE YOUR PET THERE!!!

My Walter, a French Bulldog, has a very sensitive tummy. Late last night he had extreme vomiting issues so I drove him quickly to Southwest Florida Veterinary Specialists ER. Walter has been here before and sees this place as somewhere he goes when he's in trouble late at night and they will make him better. He is the sweetest little boy and he was treated so very well again here. I cannot say enough about the kindness and empathy of the staff and doctors here. They treated Walter as the loving boy he is and were so VERY kind in passing on updates about him to me as I waited anxiously in the parking lot due to the COVID 19 restrictions. Thank you to everyone here that night for helping my Walter!

My 9 month old Great Dane inhaled water at the beach that turned into pneumonia a few days later. The staff and doctor were so great…taking him in right away. They explained everything they were going to do and made sure he had all the meds he needed until we got back home to see our regular vet. This is the first time he’s been sick and it was a doozy! I highly recommend them and if any of my boys get sick on vacation again they’ll be our first stop!

Only place in Lee county that deals with feline heart issues; appt. was at 10a and left the facility at 12:10p, they serve as emergency vet clinic as well. Masks required. No change in may cat's condition, non life threatening. Thanks for asking.

My dog has a heart condition and we come here at least once a year to make sure everything is good. The doctor was really caring and the staff was very professional and kind. …

This place should be closed. They lack the proper staffing to run an emergency vet. My dog died there because they lacked a proper cardiologist. And the doctor on staff lied. They wouldn’t let me back with my dog then told me my dog died due to anxiety. These people don’t really care about your dog. They care about money. Beware. Take your dog somewhere else.
