Went to Wagging Tails for the first and last time over the weekend. We thought it would have been a great idea due to the extreme cold temperatures. This location is nothing short of disappointing. The idea is great, the execution was horrific. It reeked of urine, there are no bowls but to PURCHASE for a dog to have water... the "play" structures are clearly for children. The front desk employees were very unwelcoming, we asked to see the indoor "play area" and daycare, they said we could NOT see the daycare...sketchy, who would put there dog somewhere but not be able to see it? We went into the play area and it was as above described-- there was hair all over the sticky rubber mats, no indoor turf area. You could purchase tennis balls for $1 each from a gumball machine...the venue indoors has such potential, but with the staff at the front desk operating how they do, and the dogs barking/crying the whole time in their crates during "daycare". I highly urge you to find a different place to bring your loved pet!

Concept it great, but implementation has a long way to go. Dirty facility... smells...indoor area has an epoxy coating that is so slippery when pups have wet paws that they are afraid to play. Outdoor area has artificial turf and smells like it hasn't been cleaned in months. We paid and stayed for about 30 mins and left. Will not go back. If the indoor area had rubber flooring it would be much better. Outdoor area needs to be hosed down and sanitized. Needs to be cleaned daily. Would really have loved taking the dogs there when it's raining or storming out. Staff was very pleasant and polite.. but facilities do not make the mark.

Very slick indoor flooring. Dogs couldn't run or play due to slipping. Outdoor carpet area in disrepair and smelled of urine. People also left dog stool outside on the carpet area. Won't be back!

I love the idea of an indoor dog park, and that they require proof of vaccination. Unfortunately, it was in desperate need of a deep clean - unbearable stench of pee and even my dog was ready to leave after about 10 minutes. Has potential, but needs some TLC.

I would highly recommend not using this company. I was a loyal customer for well over a year with my dog going 3-4 times a week, participating in the parties they offered as well as training that they used to offer. Over that year time frame my dog was there, many alarming events occurred, including me showing up to an unlocked facility one morning with dogs present but no staff member and my dog coming home limping and no one could tell me when or how it occurred. These events as well as others which I brought to the attention of the manager were never fully resolved but I would continue to send my dog since it was the only facility open before 7am and they made promises of changes/ it not happening again. This September was unfortunately the final straw. My dog was bit by another dog at daycare. I later came to find out my dog was cowering in the corner when this occurred. Apparently, he had been becoming more and more anxious there for the past few weeks, cowering in corners and other dogs approaching him. Up until then, kennel staff had been able to stop any other dog when they were going after my dog while he was cowering. Not once in the report cards they sent out or when I saw staff when I dropped off or picked up my dog did they ever mention him being more anxious, cowering or other dogs going at him and it had been ongoing for WEEKS. I immediately pulled my dog from daycare, and spoke with the manager Jolie. Jolie was very understanding of the situation, and supported my decision but said only the owner can issue the refund I requested for my daycare package I would no longer be using. Jolie said she put in the request and it was then up to the owner to process it. I have been waiting over 2 months for so much as a response from the owner. It took her over one month to even pick up the refund request from the facility. I have called, written emails and have tried in any way I can to speak with the owner with no response, frequently being told that the owner doesn't speak with clients. I am appalled that this is how she treats her loyal customers. The facility has gone massively downhill since I started sending my dog with in my opinion too many dogs and not enough staff. The owner is not involved but does not give her manager the proper tools to handle situations. I would highly advise looking anywhere else to take your dog.

Horrible service! I was overcharged for being two minutes late. I do believe that I was on time. Regardless, a $25 visit became $40! When I asked for an explanation I was treated terribly by the rep who raised her voice and became very aggressive. I asked her for her name and she refused. I then asked to speak to management and received exactly the same disrespect. She also refused to give me her name. Apparently no one is accountable . II thenhen asked for upper management and she rudely just hung up. I tried calling back to no avail. I honestly don't remember ever having been treated so poorly by any company. I will definitely never return!

Very unprofessional. Will over charge you and make you wait a month for a refund. They will laugh in your face when you call and ask about your refund. When I was on the phone the employee thought I was on hold when I wasn’t. I heard her entire conversation with another upset customer because they were over charged, all she did was read him a script. The same script they kept trying to give me. Then when she hung up with him she forgot I was on the phone and talked very about about the customer before with another coworker and were laughing at him. Very ghetto I do not recommend.

Fraudulent Business Practices. I boarded my dog here for 3 nights, they charged me for 4 nights. Not a big deal, I called back and told them I was mischarged, they agreed and said I would be refunded. 3 weeks later and they still won’t refund me, and have stopped returning my calls after I told them I didn’t want a credit because I likely wouldn’t be returning. Every time I call I get the answer: only the owner can refund and you aren’t allowed to talk to the owner

I worked here May 31st this year, that was my last day. I have a previous comment on here about them mistreating the animals here. They also are keeping my check away from me. I CALLED continuously, left voicemails back to back and they continued ignoring it then some lady called me telling me that she’s going to look up my information with an attitude and that I’ll get a call back because one of the owners quit. ???? NEVER heard back! So we keeping checks from employees now? What business does that????? I gave you guys the dates and I’m getting no phone call back, I’m just getting repeated the same words the workers are telling me which is “I’ll have someone call you back” but then don’t. WHAT IS THIS?

My family hired this company to pet sit our cats from 8-14-21 to 8-21-21 and no one ever showed up to feed our cats. Without our cameras we never would have known that none of our cats were fed. We have called them every single day to talk to a manager and no one has returned our calls. No one can answer our questions. Managers are totally avoiding us. How can a company just not show up to feed an animal??? Unbelievable. Never again. I do not recommend this business.

Do not recommend. The owner shamelessly self promotes in local community Facebook groups and the customer service is very poor. We were long-time customers - they never recognized us at drop off or pick-up and they would include pictures of the wrong dog in the report card. We switched our dog to a different daycare facility in town and she’s much happier and more relaxed there.

My dog seen in the picture below stayed at the west hartford location from 8-12-21 to 8-14-21. He is an 8 month old Rottweiler who has never stayed at any kind of boarding facility. When my pup came home from his visit Saturday evening he was not himself. I called and emailed less then 24hours from the time that he was picked up to inform staff that he most likely has kennel cough. No office manager ever called me back. When I called back not to long ago, I informed staff of what the vet said all I got was what do you want me to do. I will never visit this place again. I will upload pictures of all the dogs he was in close contact with. I am also going to report their unsafe practices to BBB. The facility seemed to be understaffed compared to the ratio of human/dog contact. Never again!!!

We booked this place for the July 4 weekend. Canceled well before the 72 h deadline and they will not provide our refund back. They are saying the owner is traveling for a few weeks and no refund will get processed until the owner gets back.

Looked online at the indoor dog park and it said online that it was climate controlled. After driving 40 mins to west Hartford with my two dogs thinking they were going to have a blast in a cooled off indoor dog park, needless to say that’s not how it went. Much to our disappointment only the lobby has air conditioning, the actual indoor dog park area was a sauna. None of garage doors were open, and none of the water toys were available.There is no air conditioning only heat for the winter in the dog park area, so this is not a “climate controlled” facility as advertised online. The young man working there was very nice and apologized for the misunderstanding however the girl working the desk rolled her eyes when I said something about it being advertised incorrectly. The my said they would leave my name and number for their manager ,Jackie, to get in contact with me that night. Jackie never called me and I had keep calling for nearly a week before I was able to actually talk with her. It was convenient that she dodged my calls because by the time she spoke with me they updated their website to not say “climate controlled” but changed it to “heat for the winter”. I took screenshots of the website prior to the change thinking this might happen after reading some of the other reviews. Jackie did not once apologized, did not offer any remedies to the situation only kept saying “that it’s heated for the winter” and “I’ll let the owner know”. When I told her I had the screenshots saying it was climate controlled she would repeatedly reiterate that she has nothing to do with the website and that’s the owner who handles that she has no control over that. And when I asked for a refund for the sauna experience she said she couldn’t issue a refund, it’s something that the owner would have to do. Which conveniently enough the owner is on a four week vacation and is not to be bothered. Extremely disappointed and frustrated will not be going back save yourself a trip to a hot warehouse with your dog. And save yourself the frustration of dealing with a powerless manager, a missing owner and overall unprofessional business.

Bad communication between owner and customers. Overcharged us $300 for boarding and then made us wait 2 weeks for a refund because owner was on vacation. Dog comes home smelling awful even though they require exit baths, they just skip them and charge you $30 and pretend the customer is delusional. Worst dog daycare in central ct.

I bright my dog there for a week while we were on vacation. Not only did my dog get loose and go missing for three hours. She was picked up by the west Hartford pound! I received a phone call from the manager Jackie I think her name was, saying my dog snuck out but they found her and she’s is ok...not one mention of her being at the pound even though she was at the pound of the time of the phone call...about an hour later the Pound calls saying that they have her and they will return her back to the place that let get lost, when she calms down. It’s like they we’re trying g to hide the fact that she got lost and not even found by them. Also they do not follow through with all of their promises on what they will do if you let them Care for your pet. You are supposed to get daily report cards and pictures. I received them the first two days then not another one for 4 more days after I had to call and ask if my dog was still there or did it s walk out again that’s why I have not received another report. I would highly recommend any place but here if you love your pet....this is my first one star review ever. But this place is bad business

I worked here. My last day was yesterday 5/31 because I felt very uncomfortable. They had me in the cold watching the dogs that they don’t even care about themselves. They allow the dogs to get into fights and the big dogs always attack the small dogs ☹️ Also some of the dogs get into it with the staff and all the staff does is yank them by their necks and throw them in the fences. My experience training there wasn’t that bad, I just didn’t like how some things were handled especially me being a huge dog lover, it was hard to watch it. Also the smell was horrific After leaving, I accidentally took one of their walkie- talkies; I didn’t know until after I woke up from my nap that I had it. I awoke to a bunch of calls from this place and different voicemails that if I didn’t return the walkie-talkie back to them by the end of the day that they were going to call the police on me for stealing. Why would I want to steal a walkie-talkie??? And why was it necessary for you guys to want to call the police on me for a walkie talkie when all you could have said was to bring it back by the end of the day which I would have if I noticed that I had it. Never again will I work here again. Poor dogs

The owner, Krista L., is unprofessional, defensive and posts positive reviews for her own company. They make you prepay then don't come at all or don't deliver the services they're contacted for. When I tried getting a refund due to nobody coming to feed my cats the first two days of our vacation, the owner deactivated my online portal with them so I wouldn't have proof of them not showing up or of our correspondence showing their neglect. Luckily I took screenshots! STAY AWAY.

Our dog came back quite filthy. We brought it to their attention how dirty he was, their response was "Well we have artificial grass, so there is no way he could have got dirty here"..... I would almost rather he be dirty from actual dirt than whatever filth they have going behind closed doors in the kennels. The breed meet up's are fun, however i would not recommend boarding your dog here. Our dog always came back home smelling sour.

We used this place for grooming and was very disappointed. We were pretty on the how to groom our dog. Groomer assured that she would not cut the hair down too much. Upon pick up our dog hair was cut to the shortest I have ever seen. Way too short! On top of that gave a $25 up charge for dematting. Never had this issue at other groomers and I would think they would contact us to ask. I would recommend not using this place. We will not be coming back.

showed up for an appt, no groomer there despite text reminders of the appt! Staff was unhelpful and did not offer a solution for their mistake. Also the indoor play area is terrible and not worth the fee. Find another place to take your dog.

Unfortunately, my experience has to do with the training, not the facility itself. I scheduled a session of private training. The day of the training I received a phone call, 1 hour before the start time, telling me the trainer wasn't there and that they would call back to reschedule. I was not happy about this. I understand emergencies happen, however they just made it sound like the trainer just didn't show up. Also, never got a call back to reschedule. I'm sure the location is excellent and it looks like a get facility. I never got a chance to leave my dog for doggie daycare. Like I said this is just a review on their training program.

If I can give this place a 0 I would. The owner Krista is very unprofessional. This business is exactly business and not about the health and well-being of your pets. The do not even require a fecal which is why there’s parasite and worm outbreaks. I advise everyone to look elsewhere for business

Took my dog here once and also had an inside look through the eyes of one of the employees. Stay away from this business. They are severely understaffed and this place does not screen new dogs properly enough to handle the amount of fights that break out. The place looks warm and inviting and they do cute daily report cards, but it's all a fake show to get more money. Your dog is not in the best care there. My dog got bit by another and normally I would shrug it off, if there weren't 90 dogs and only one person watching them all. Furthermore, the regional manager, Jacky I think her name was, is a very rude and unprofessional person. Asking about certain things involving my dog's or other dog's care is met with a response that is talking down to you. There are better doggy day care places in the area.

My dog loved the place. She had so much fun playing with more dogs she met! I would really recromend this place, About an hour in and she is already tuckered out because of all the fun she had. The outside feild is also really nice. It's a nice place for many dogs. In fact, on the car ride she was super happy to go to the place. So, 5 stars out of me

Brought my dog for his 1st day of daycare/evaulation. Staff was so responsive and I felt like I was kept in the loop the whole time our pup was there. By the time I came to pick him up he didn’t want to leave! Wagging Tails gives your dog the quality treatment every pet owner wants! To be treated like their own! Also love the different events they do for the pups during the week. We could not be happier to have found this place and to give your pup the socialization and playtime he needs and deserves!!
