I had been here before with my dog and it was great, loved Dr. Kaitlyn. Today I called for my cat. He has a checkup set for Jan., But two days ago I noticed he was drooling. I waited a day and he was still drooling. I googled it and based on this I feel he has a tooth issue. I had noticed he also hasn't been eating much. I have no idea how long this has been going on, but feel it should be delt with. I was told they have an opening in five day. I don't think this is something that should wait five day. I'm not sure what the problem is, all I know is he isn't eating well and he must be in a lot of discomfort. I don't got to the vet often, my dog gets her yearly and my cat hasn't been to the vet in years. He is a house cat and has been very healthy, but if I think any of my pets are in distress I call and don't think I have to wait five days. I called and got an appointment elsewhere for later today. Based on this response I feel they don't really care about my cat, ,

I am grateful to have found this practice. After several years of bringing my pup here, I am still amazed at how compassionate and thorough all of the staff and veterinarians are each time I visit.

Kirby Veterinary Hospital is by far the best place for you and your pets! Their entire team is accommodating, compassionate, friendly and helpful. I would not trust my fur babies with anyone else. When a difficult situation arises they are there for you both medically and personally! Truly the BEST!

We have been using Kirby vet for over 6 years and have never had an issue. Today was unacceptable. I made an appt 6 months ago for my dog for this day and explained I needed to get out of work specifically for the appt. After waiting 45 mins for my appt I was there at 345 for a 4 o’clock appt. I call and ask why I haven’t been called in and they tell me the doctor is busy. I explained I watched several others come and go. She says it must have been for the other doctor. I honestly think they double booked and didn’t want to admit it because the only other person showed up at the same time as me and they took her dog first. They only said I could wait longer or reschedule (again I had to wait 6 months for this one) I’m beyond upset at the lack of care. My poor dog was left to sit out in the heat while all this is going on… no offer of water for her or anything and I explained at the beginning she has anxiety being in a car. I don’t know what Happened to this practice but we are officially done going there after such a disrespect and mistreatment of my dog.

My husband and I recently rescued a dog from Muddy Muts in Winsted, CT. Kirby Veterinary Hospital in Mansfield , CT. checked over our new dog, Rex. We were so grateful and pleased with their service. The vet, Dr. Sears was so thorough in her examination. She listened to our concerns and took the time to address and answer our questions. She even called us in the evening to go over the blood test results. All of the staff were compassionate, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I am so pleased with the service we received from Kirby Veterinary Hospital. I feel secure in knowing our dog Rex will continue to receive the very best care from Kirby! Dr. Ernst is a wonderful, caring, down-to-down-t Earth vet. She is very knowledgeable and understanding. Having managed several vet clinics in a previous life, I am very impressed and highly recommend her. Your pet will receive excellent, practical care. Update: post-Covid I took my to older German Shepherds to update their rabies vaccines and other vaccinations. Dr. Ernst continues to earn my praise! I appreciate her understanding my concerns and wishes in caring for the girls. They have gone to.Dr. Ernst since they were little. Her staff is very courteous and professional. I highly recommend Kirby Veterinary Hospital.

We had moved to Connecticut recently and needed to find a new vet for our dogs. We researched and asked neighbors who they would recommend. Kirby Veterinary Hospital was our choice. It ended up being the best choice we could've made! The staff was very friendly, informative and asked us first before any procedure was done. They never pushed unnecessary treatments or medications which was a huge relief! The Vet, Dr Wendy, spoke to us personally and let us know that our dogs are healthy and we are taking good care of them! She even said they seem younger than what they are which is 9 and 11yrs old! It meant the world to us!! We highly recommend Kirby Veterinary Hospital for all your pets medical needs!

My husband and I didn't have a cat for 20 years when we inherited a 6-year female all white cat, and we are her fourth home. Kirby Vet was very helpful in dealing with her anxiety and bladder problems. With their help she is on a special urinary CD diet, wears a calming collar and takes "anxiety" pills. The vet tech was very helpful in recommending "pill pods" to disguise her pills in a chicken treat. Now we don't have a daily fight to get the pill down her throat and she's thriving as a well adjusted, healthy cat.

We own 6 dogs, so an experienced yet affordable veterinarian is very important to us. The reception staff is always cheerful and friendly and work hard to get you an appointment as quickly as possible that fits with your schedule. The doctors and techs are knowledgeable and compassionate and work along with pet owners to give the best care to the dogs. Their prices are reasonable, so you don't have to think twice about taking them in for care. I am very thankful to have finially found this office.

So many great things to say about Kirby! We love the staff, the ability to email in non emergent questions, the way they treat their patients... just everything about it. When we call, if it's not emergent, sometimes we don't hear back until later that day or the following day and thats ok! Kirby is a fairly small practice where everyone knows your name. They value quality patient care over quantity of patients they see, and give you a call if they're running a little behind. I wholeheartedly recommend Kirby to anyone in the area.

A little expensive but with every penny. The care they show my animals is top notch. The biggest thing is it is a local owned business and not a corporate run joint.

This was our first time using Kirby Veterinary Hospital after 30 years of using other local veterinarians. During this time of Covid, I was unable to go in with my pup, but I was so reassured by the staff's constant communication via phone before and after the appointment. They were very friendly and understanding. I know my pup has made forever friends at Kirby!

My dog was very nervous at her previous vet. With covid, I wasn't able to go in with her but they said she did great and allowed them to do everything to take care of her. The staff was very thorough with phone call intake, paperwork, questions and explanations of care, concerns, etc. My girl came out with a smile on her face.

We first met Dr. Ernst years ago at her old practice (we were really bummed when she left). When she returned to the area & opened Kirby Vet, we were so pleased. We've been patients now for four years with our two cats. We have had excellent interactions w/ Dr. Ernst & Dr. Solomon (who will be missed). I can say even though I didn't get to meet her in person (due to COVID restrictions), Dr. Way was lovely to speak to on the phone last week when my girls went in for their annual exam. All the staff at Kirby are incredibly professional - I've known many of them for years. It's such peace of mind to be able to trust your vet hospital to provide honest, excellent care at a reasonable cost. I drive a little farther now to get to the vet, but it's completely worth it. Thank you to all the staff at Kirby - and our Luna & Allie thank you too.

Kirby vet is the very best. They are kind, very affordable , thorough and have always taken great care of our animals. I currently have a large rescue dog who has fear aggression which as one can imagine makes taking him to the vet even more challenging. Kirby did everything they could to successfully help him so that he could get his wellness check up. We've had three dogs over the years that have all been to Kirby. I could not imagine taking my animals anywhere else.

Kirby is an amazing veterinary hospital! They treat all the pets with such care. When we had to put down our dog they were very respectful and loving. Then a few weeks later they sent us a condolence card along with his ashes. Very beautiful.

We have used Kirby Vet for years and are amazed every time by their kindness, efficiency, and level of expertise. From the person that takes your call to the vet techs and vet, they make you feel at home and confident that your pet is in the best of hands. My almost 13 year old lab is as healthy as a puppy due in large part to their support, care, and expertise.

Very caring, and understanding of our fur baby..

We been to Kirby Vet for our last dog and most recently for our new puppy. All the staff were professional and friendly. The Veterinarian took her time answering my many questions about the needs of our puppy. When our last dog was sick, although we took her to an emergency hospital on the weekend, the veterinarian at Kirby Vet was helpful and compassionate while we assessed what to do over a tough three days.
