I would recommend PAWS to everyone. They are so welcoming and caring my cat shows no stress from her visit. And, I’ve never had such incredible follow up post visit. They are completely transparent with charges too. I trust them - which says it all.

Dr. Nachtigal solved our bulldog’s stool issue. Everyone at the vet is friendly and welcoming. We love PAW.

I had been looking for a new vet... finally made the switch and brought my 7 year old Vizsla Gus here after recommendations from 2 friends. So impressed- we are sticking with PAW for sure! Kind and knowledgeable staff all around. Dr. Shagensky took the time to really get to know Gus and even called personally with his test results the next morning. They clearly care about pets and their people. No pressure tactics for extra meds or tests, and actually lower cost than my previous vet. I live in Wethersfield, so it’s not exactly in my backyard, but PAW is absolutely worth the drive for us.

I quite literally could not recommend PAW higher. My dog (Lyle) was visiting from out of state and suffered a bad wound. His regular vet was a 20 hour drive away and there was a global pandemic occuring so I was unsure what to do. In addtion he was due that very day for his annual exam and vaccines. There was a lot happening. My pup had gone to PAW when he was a puppy living in Connecticut so I took an off chance and called them, my expectations pretty low that they would be able to do much because he was not really a patient of their practice and, again, there was a pandemic happening. To my great pleasure they saw him THAT MORNING and were excellent and professional (no surprises there). I had to wait outside because of the aforementioned pandemic but they called me regualrly to update me and gave me a detailed estiamate before they did anything. They even gave him his yearly physical and vaccines, no problem. I am so so greatful. Take your pet here they are excellent and will help you even if you have not been to their practice for two years and you live out of state!

I recently switched to PAWS after 10 years at my previous vet. Multiple grievances led me to switch. PAW’s was recommended to me by my local pet store owner. My experience was excellent! My previous vet was insisting that my 10 year old dog needed $3k+ of dental surgery despite her having no pain and showing no symptoms of problems. Every time I walked in with my very active healthy dog, they tried to push a new procedure, medication, test, supplement etc. the Vet at PAWs not only said my dogs teeth were perfectly fine besides some worn spots, but in great condition for her age. The supplements I’ve been giving her because she runs 4+ miles several times a week with me we’re apparently a joke and unnecessary considering the condition of her joints and mobility. I could go on, but the bottom line is, PAWS could have looked at her records according to the previous vet and taken me to the cleaners. Instead they were honest, caring and gave me great advice. My new vet forever!

I have been bringing my pup here for 5 years with Dr. Shagensky. He is thorough and truly takes the time to examine. The entire staff here is wonderful and helpful. I highly recommend!

I had an emergency with my almost 13yr old baby boy, Stewie. Unfortunately, while trying to get a mat out, his skin was cut through with scissors. I was beside myself, because my cats have been very healthy, and I never got a vet when I moved to Unionville. I called over 7 emergency vets in the area, and nobody could get him in. My neighbor recommended Progressive Animal Wellness, since that was her vet. I called and explained the situation, and the staff was so incredibly helpful! They got me an appointment for the same day. They called my old vet, got both of my cats records and sent me new client paperwork. They were very on top of everything. When we got there, they calmed me down by telling me it was a superficial cut and Stewie would be okay. They shaved the area, put in a few staples, gave him an antibiotic injection, and most importantly they kept telling him how handsome he was. My cats are my babies and I wholeheartedly trust PAW with them. Everyone who works there was kind and sweet to the animals. I highly recommend this vet. Thank you all again for helping Stewie!!!

This past week review: I cannot say enough about Progressive Animal Wellness (PAW)! Every one of the doctors and ESPECIALLY the vet techs (Cathy, you know you're amazing) have been fantastic. They are up front, honest, don't recommend crazy stuff, reasonably (for vet care) priced. They treat my animals like their own. Honestly, even having brought him somewhere else the first time, I'm re- reminded why I should never take him anywhere else if I can help it. Thank you Dr. Corey Shagensky and the rest of your amazing vet and vet tech team for making all my stressful moments much more tolerable. 5 years ago review: We love Progressive Animal Wellness. All the techs are great but have known Katie the longest and she's great at being a real people person, very compassionate and makes you feel heard. Dr. Corey does a great job at being a no BS kinda guy, just straight shoots it and makes you feel like he really knows what he's talking about. Have always had great experiences with them! Thanks guys!

Progressive Animal Wellness is THE best Veterinary Hospital in the Farmington Valley hands down! They are extremely professional, kind, and the best team to work with. I have been taking my dogs Kodi and Nova there for years and I would never go to anyone else. If you are on the fence about your current Vet or are new to the area check them out!!

Was bummed because my pups first vet appointment was curbside and I couldn't film and be with him, but I do love and understand the precautions they are taking at a time like this. My tech was great, she answered all my questions and concerns. The doctor came out as well and talked with us which I loved, made me feel like she really cared instead of just sending the tech outside with the information. The visit was quicker then I excepted and everyone was so genuinely nice. Thank you!

Very warm and friendly staff - only Vet office that Shasta has not been scared of, she went right in with no hesitation! With the covid restrictions I thought it might be tough to get her to go along with the Vet Tech but she made her feel so at ease. I can see why people rave about this Veterinarian.

I have two fur-babies/dogs that have been patients at PAW for over 8 years.They have offered us consistent and exemplary service in that time. Before any kind of exam, staff members get down of the floor and play with my dogs to make them feel comfortable. Before any services are performed, I always get a written estimate, so there are no surprises when I check out. I truly appreciate the commitment and kindness of every single staff member there. It is also the veterinarian office I have been to that does not smell. I highly recommend them. ????

Extremely accommodating, professional and kind staff. I’m definitely an overprotective pet parent and particular with the care my dog receives. Dr. Shegensky and his team always do their best to accommodate my requests and never make me feel that I’m asking too much (even if I am). They definitely care about their patients and pet parents’ satisfaction. You won’t be disappointed.

I adopted a rescue on 10/19 and wanted to get him checked out. I was able to get an appointment a few days after I called and I found the staff to be caring, thorough and informative. Good advice, no unnecessary tests or vaccinations and just an overall positive experience for both me and my pup.

We’ve been going to PAW with our Yorkies since 2017 and the staff is impeccable! They are attentive and do their absolute best to accommodate us. The doctors are very knowledgeable and open to questions. The techs are personable and always have a smile.

I brought my new rescue Lollie here today for the first time and I can’t say enough great things!! I was initially so worried about bringing her to a vet for the first time, as I had never done so before, but everyone at PAW made her first experience so comfortable and easy I was incredibly impressed and grateful! Lollie wasn’t nervous at all, and loved everyone there ???? Everyone at PAW was so nice, loving, and thorough with our little girl. From beginning to end our experience was amazing. I’m blown away by the kindness and excellence of everyone at PAW! Thank you for such a great experience ❤️ Lollie has a vet for life! I’d highly recommend!

My cats and I recently moved and I was in need of a new veterinarian who was close to our new home. I got the area newspaper that listed the Best of Everything polled establishments. PAW rated excellent in every way and I couldn’t agree more. I was assisted with medical forms, emergency care partners, and an appointment before the due date of the yearly shots and physical were due. I was greeted and more so treated with the most genuine and amazing staff who demonstrated the most professional, sensitive, and caring manner any pet owner would want to receive. Due to the loss of my Cat’s brother, my girl Cookie was not happy about going in the carrier or car, but in the hands of everyone there, she was calm and totally happy with her visit. It made my day to know this was the best choice I made for Cookie. I am so grateful for the care and information I was given upon my first visit as a new patient. BRAVO to everyone at PAW ???? I highly recommend PAW to anyone who loves their pets as much as I do!!
