Animal General Avon, Connecticut

We absolutely love Animal General. When other vets have been unable to figure out several different situations with our pets or can not fit us in, Animal General is always there. Highly recommend it here!

I've had a lot of animals throughout my life, not just in Connecticut. I must say the staff at Animal General are truly a unique set of vets. I love all of them and so do my animals. Would highly recommend them, and have throughout my time in Connecticut.

After losing three cats to cancer several years ago, a new diagnosis of kidney failure in our 5 year old female cat was heartbreaking. Her initial veterinarian practice took forever to return calls, took days to obtain a prescription and after seeing two vets, it just didn’t feel right having her a patient there. I received a recommendation to see Dr Dolan, who explained everything in detail, what tests she felt needed repeating and made me very much at ease. She called the following day and explained, again in detail, results, a treatment plan and meds. She offered advice on giving one med with which I had struggled. Being in the medical field, I’m very critical and cautious. I cannot say enough about Dr Dolan. I wish more providers were like her.

I have been taking my cats to Dr. Feldman for over 14 years. Despite moving an hour away from Avon a few years ago, I still make the hour trip so that he can provide for all of their medical care. Dr. Feldman is very thorough, honest, compassionate, and communicative. He has successfully managed multiple challenging conditions for my pets with tenacity. And his front staff is top notch. To the extent it is within my control, we will always see Dr. Feldman. He's the best!

This practice is the best I've ever been too and I have had dogs for many years! Dr. Steve Feldman is compassionate, a keen diagnostician, and a wonderful human being. Can't recommend Animal General any higher and am so glad, after just moving into the Avon community, I have found them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Feldman!

Newton is my third dog that Dr Steve has cared for with great skill and grace.

I appreciate that they are understanding about my dog's anxiety around his visit's and don't make me feel like he's "bad dog". They have been very helpful on several occasions where he was sick or injured. He loves the peanut butter & I love that he is well care for!

Dr Feldman is an exceptional diagnostician, he follows up after each visit with a phone call and all the pertinent information you’ll need to know about your pets visit

Animal General is one of the best veterinary places I have ever used. All their staff are professional, friendly, helpful and understanding. Dr. Feldman is without a doubt the BEST animal doctor I have ever had and I have had several golden retrievers and a few cats and have lived in CT and FL. He is "down to earth" gets right on the floor with your pet, makes them feel comfortable and does a really thorough exam. My golden thinks he going for "play time" when we get to the office and has no fear of going in at all. I highly recommend Animal General!

Challenging to get in touch with at times

Both vets that we’ve had are super passionate about animals and very knowledgeable. As first time dog owners we have a lot to learn, and Animal General has been a helpful resource.

After nine years as a customer I'm NEVER coming back. The staff is super rude...are you that desperate to hire people that you are scrapping the bottom of the barrel??? To add insult to injury their prices have gone WAY up...$450.00 for a routine physical. STAY AWAY.

The Vets and Staff of Animal General have been caring for my cats for 20+ years! The are the best!

Today our new puppy had her first visit with Dr. Smith. She is super professional, informative, helpful, kind, and compassionate! We couldn’t go in with our puppy so we really appreciated the time Dr. Smith took to speak with us both before and after her exam. She answered all our questions and was so helpful. I can tell she really adores the pets she cares for and loves what she does. Looking forward to continuing to send our puppy there as she grows up.

Animal General has wonderful Vet care, never have I had any problem. I like the fact that dogs under10 lb get one shot at a time during each appointment.

Dr Feldman as always is a great vet. He has taken care of all my dogs lady, Bailey and Mr Fletcher for the last 30 years. Highly recommend animal general . Staff is very nice also

I've been going to Animal General for 20 years. It's a great team of professionals, including an office team that is very caring too. It's founder, Dr. Feldman, is a real Dr. Doolittle.

Our first visit at Animal General was fantastic! Dr. Karimian was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She completed a very thorough exam on my golden retriever and really took the time to answer any questions or concerns. I greatly appreciated the kindness and organization of the vet assistants and office staff as well! We will definitely be returning for all future vet needs. Thank you again!

We love our vet! They are so caring and knowledgeable, plus we never feel like they push anything unnecessary for our dogs. Dr. Feldman was WONDERFUL when we had to put our beloved black lab down 5 years ago--so attentive to our needs and so gentle with our Olive. We regularly see Dr. Kariminian and she is so great. Very thorough, great listener and takes such great care of our dogs!!

Dr Dolan is very patient and knowledgeable . She will explain things to you and not rush you or your pet. She even calls herself to tell you tests results. I would recommend Dr Dolan and Animal General very highly.
