Emerson means the world to my family. He is currently hospitalized at WRAH after suffering a “stroke”. We were met with kindness and compassion from everyone including the CSRs, techs/assistants, ER Vet, neurology intern and neurologist. …

Take home message – poor business practices, poor communication, quality of service doesn’t measure up to exorbitant fees. I am very displeased with my experience at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. I feel misled, scammed out of my money for …

It is very difficult and painful to deal with your best friend's end of days. I was able to stay with my friend until the end. They are compassionate and help facilitate a very painful decision. I was honored to be a part of Lil Pup's journey. Thank you.

The staff here is fantastic. The girl at the front check in desk was so sweet and so empathetic when I was upset. My cats vet tech was so nice, and I can’t say enough nice things about Dr. Scott. He came out to the waiting area and sat with me and answered all my ridiculous questions and was so kind and so patient. He saved my kitty from a miserable time and he was a sweet kind professional while doing so.

I have to take some time to shout out Dr Dave Raczek and his team at Wheatridge Animal Hospital. Our precious little French Bulldog Olive suffered a large disc herniation in December that resulted in paralysis, incontinence, and pain. Dr Raczek was able to immediately diagnose the problem and recommend further diagnostics with an MRI and surgery thereafter. Olive underwent a successful decompression surgery with Dr Raczek the same day. She was up and walking again within a week and is back to her normal happy self now a couple of weeks post surgery. I am very appreciative for Dr Raczek and his team for the proper diagnosis, treatment, and care. They even stayed late on Christmas Eve for discharge so that we could get our little Olive home for Christmas. Truly appreciate Dr Raczek and his team!

5-Month Update: It is now 5 months past our experience with Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. Their expertise and treatment keeps on giving. Because the surgeon had the foresight to take biopsies of our girls stomach during the surgery, it is helping to diagnose a digestive issue that has been going on for a year and a half. Our new gastrointestinal specialist is using the surgical and biopsy reports to diagnose and treat our girl. Once again, thank you Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital! Our Golden Retriever ate a rock. It was in her stomach. We found it by accident when out regular vet was doing an x-ray for stomach issues she’d had for a year. We don’t know if this rock had been in there that long causing stomach problems or if it was new to her. Our vet could not do the surgery for 6 days and recommended them. We wanted the rock out as soon as possible to prevent it from going into her intestines and causing an obstruction. We chose to have the surgery done at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital the next day. Our girl had been there twice before for emergency care and we liked their staff. We are so glad we chose to have it done sooner and at WRAH. I cannot say enough about the surgeons, vet techs, nurses and staff. Every single step of the way they were compassionate, professional and communicated with us about our girl. I received calls every few hours the day she had the surgery, the next morning to let me know how she was doing and one of the surgeons just called me to see how her first night and day are going at home. They are an ER vet, in addition to having specialty vets in a wide range of care. The surgical team has been incredible. I would not hesitate taking my girl back there for any reason and highly recommend them!

How are you able to boust that you have the best neurology department in the state but then tell your patients that there won't be anybody working in neurology for the entire week? Horrible horrible HORRIBLE communication and management.if you actually want your animal to be treated and taken care of then you'd be better off going anywhere else

LOOK AT THE 1 STAR REVIEWS. Don’t make the same mistake I did…..Worthless lying staff with zero integrity. After having my dog abruptly taken from me and brought to the back with no explanation. one of the male staff yelled at me (time for me to go). I urge people to go elsewhere. …..Update** I left a message on the offices voicemail and I emailed them asking questions looking for some kind of resolution. They tactically respond to this review only. (as if they care).

We recently had to bring in our Dog , Baya, who needed neck surgery. She had an abscess in her throat, pushing into her esophagus and making it very difficult to eat/drink. The team of Vets diagnosed her, and proposed surgery as an option which we opted to do. From the time we walked in the door to get diagnosed to leaving her for several days of surgery/recovery we felt completely cared for and supported. The Vets caring for her ( Dr. Phillips, Dr. McKibben, Dr. Meola, and Dr. Corsi) reached out multiple times a day to update us on her progress, and were so patient to listen and address all our questions and concerns. They listened to our needs and helped us weigh best and worse case scenarios in the event surgery did not go as planned or she had complications upon discharge. Ultimately, we felt cared for and like they genuinely cared for our pup and what was best for us/her. We never felt pressured to make any decisions, but instead supported us in what our options were and guiding us to make the best decision for her. Thank you Wheatridge for your exceptional care to our dog and getting her back home to us safe and sound!!

The WRAH team is amazing. At a time when I know vet hospitals are overwhelmed, they have been incredibly supportive, responsive, and helpful in diagnosing and treating my senior dog’s ongoing medical issues. The admin staff are so kind and patient, and Dr. Windsor and the neurology team are absolutely outstanding and have been there for us every step of the way. We’re not out of the woods yet, but I trust that my dog is in the very best hands.

Dr. Rebecca Windsor is the most highly skilled neurologist I have had the pleasure of working with. She has found and solved medical issues that others misdiagnosed, is a careful and skilled surgeon, is a kind and caring doctor, and a great communicator to doctors and clients. I highly recommend her. Marie Bartling, DVM Certified Pain Practitioner, Canine Rehab

The staff here have all been wonderful-Dr. Carbone, Elaine, Stephanie, Billy and anyone else involved in the care of our dog Rigby! They've been thorough, diligent, vigilant and consistent in their care. Their empathy and care for your pet really shows! Yes, this place is busy. And yes, you might have to wait a long time to be seen. It seems to be that many vet clinics and animal hospitals are understaffed and incredibly busy. But the drive and wait is worth the visit knowing your pet is in good hands. We appreciate all of your hard work!!!

While I would have preferred to have had a conversation directly with the hospital, they have failed to respond to my attempts at reaching out. If I could rate my experience a 0/10, I would. I took my dog to the ER after his vet suggested that he get a scan of his stomach. He had not been eating, his stomach was bloated and he was very lethargic. We arrived at the hospital at 10am and he was not evaluated until 4 hours later because he wasn't "as bad" as other dogs. Ironic, because how could they have known his status if they hadn't checked his vitals...I had to continue to check in with the front desk because I was not getting any updates. Fast forward to five hours, they finally checked his vitals and read his chart. The vet let me know that it would most likely be another 2 hours before they were able to perform a scan. I eventually received a call saying that the $600 scan was inconclusive and that they were not able to provide clearer answers. They felt an antibiotic would be his best bet to treat his stomach. They also suggested I meet with their specialists the following week to discuss further possibilities. I felt incredibly frustrated as I was told the vets at this hospital were specialists and had the ability to perform tests other vets could not. To be told they weren't sure what was going on made me feel helpless. The following day I called their pharmacy to follow up on why they had not called in my dog's RX. Did I mention I called 8 times before a pharmacist eventually called in the RX at 7pm? Unfortunately, my best friend and companion died less than 48 hours after leaving the hospital. It was a traumatic experience and it was not fair for him to go out the way he did. To not have any answers after seeking help was heartbreaking...I would NEVER recommend this hospital!!

Starting to rethink this place. Missed a phone call around 12:39 PM. on Sunday October 24th telling me about a procedure fo my kitty on Monday. The message asked for me to call them back to let them know which way to schedule the appointment. Called numerous times and no one bothers to pick up the phone let alone be able to leave a message. If I am going to spend a great deal of money here and this is the best they can do, then perhaps I will spend my money elsewhere. This is ridiculous!! My review is actually zero minus stars but I had to put at least one and they don't even deserve that.

zero stars. This clinic is unbelievably negligent and ignorant. I am not going to run down our entire experience but put it this way, we waited 4 hours for nothing. arrived at 9:30 pm, left at 1:30 am (clinic was NOT busy) they even forgot about us a few times, no updates, they have terrible people skills. Bad communication, or should I say NO communication the entire 4 hours we were there. I would NEVER recommend this vet to even my worst enemy. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. MONEY HUNGRY AND TERRIBLE COMMUNICATIONS.

Do not bring your dogs here. I diagnosed my dog, the dr ignored me, and ran her own irrelevant blood work, then told me she was confused and to have a good day...charged me $250 then gave me awful instructions to change my dogs diet inconsistently. Red rocks animal center gave me 10 times the information for a third of the price, they also gave me homework to do to educate myself on potential issues. I am very upset with my waste of time and money at wheat ridge animal hospital. There was obvious things to address that the doctor just ignored. I have 4 dogs and a lot of experience. Do not use this place.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I would NEVER recommend this place to even my worst enemy. My rating exceeded the limit - please read attached. Never once throughout this process did, I feel comfortable with the emergency vet and we were lied to the entire time about everything. They told us no broken bones, everthing looked good. That was a lie. Our dog most certainly does have a broken bone and they didn't want to tell us because they wanted us to go to their surgey department the next day for them to tell us so we would give them more money. This place is a disgrace and they don’t care about animals, all they care about is making money to support their ridiculous building and horrible staff.

Dr. Emily Feldman is absolutely wonderful. I was there with my friend/client last Sunday night with her senior cat who was crashing and had to be placed on oxygen. As someone who works in the field, we are often told we are only in it for the money. Techs, receptionist and new doctors live paycheck to paycheck. We care, a hell of a a lot, and work in this field because we care about and love our patients above all else and we do NOT do what we do because of money. Dr. Emily completely embodies this. She was so kind, compassionate, considerate, thorough and non judgmental in my friends decisions with her cats medical care. Her bedside manner was just amazing and I could tell that she is just a beautiful person who does this job for the love of animals above all else. Wheat ridge AH is always one of my top 3 recommendations for clients who need specialists or ER services.

During my vacation in Colorado, we are from Texas, my dog needed surgery after eating part of a leash when left alone in a car by a pet sitter. The surgery went well, fortunately my pet is recovering nicely. However after the surgery the follow by the staff was disheartening. We had problems with the post op meds, called Wheat Ridge during normal business hours and were told someone would call us back, THAT CALL NEVER CAME. In the end I had to call my vet in Texas, explain what had happened and have him help us work out the pain med problems. In addition no one called to check on us for 7 days, this is after a surgery that costs $5700. While I never saw the surgeon the results were acceptable however the post op care was significantly sub acceptable.

Thank you Dr. David Raczek and the amazing neurology team at WRAH! From the front staff to the CVTs and Dr. Raczek, not only was your service impeccable, but the prompt diagnosis and communication and follow up with respect our furbaby was outstanding. I cannot thank you all enough for bringing our purring boy back!

Second time to visit in 5 days. Waited almost 3 hrs after watching every other sick animal come In, check in and get seen before us. Called another animal hospital and was told to come ASAP and they would see her within the hour. When I went to check in to let them know we were leaving, they had forgotten about us. My time is just as valuable as yours WRAH, and so is my pet. I came here for your help and assistance in helping my pet. There is nothing worse than feeling less than and not accommodated. Your staff was half walking out the door as shifts ended and your team was not all concerned we were leaving unseen and very disappointed. Your ER wasnt even that busy. Mostly people were arriving to take sick animals home. So I don’t understand the lack of concern for a second ER visit ( I was told to come back for based on my pets behavior). I do not recommend this hospital all and will not be returning. ZERO STARS. I was able to have my pet seen immediately at Evans East Animal Hospital. I was taken in thru the urgent care side, and after an extensive exam and blood work it was revealed my poor dog was in liver and kidney failure and had severe pancreatitis. Ultimately I made the devastating decision to have my sweet girl put to sleep. I will recommend Evans East to everyone. They are not a 24hr hospital but they are available 7 days a week until 9pm. If you need after hours I would choose Foothills Animal Hospital or Alameda East. I will not recommend Wheatridge Animal Hospital. After reading their reply, I would like to preface a few things. I disagree with the reply as I did not witness an overwhelmed team. That is a blanket reply and is not accurate. I witnessed one of 2 people on the phones twice answer and place the caller on hold so she could continue her conversation with a work colleague discussing Halloween decor and costumes. The second time she placed the called on hold for no reason. She sat there for 5-6 min before taking the call. It was not a busy afternoon while I was there, other than animas discharging home.

Our dog became suddenly ill 6 days ago with bilateral uveitis. The last week has been a roller coaster, with the severity & nature of his symptoms changing every day. My husband and I felt helpless and very unsupported by our regular vet & nearby emergency vet… until we brought him to Wheat Ridge yesterday. Now, we feel confident that our sweet boy is in very good hands. We can’t begin to thank Dr. Meola & her team. We don’t have all of the answers yet, but she’s given us some peace of mind. Even more importantly, our pup is comfortable.

I wish I had a before picture but I don’t. I noticed an enormous lump on my cats throat and our normal vet couldn’t see us until after the weekend. They advised if we noticed him declining or anything different to go to the emergency/urgent pet care. Well that happened, and I rushed him to the smaller urgent care that we used to live closer to and it was a 7-8hour wait. Understandably, it was the weekend and a smaller office so I asked for other recommendations and went to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital . It was such a relief to hear a 2-3 hour wait time when he was obviously not doing well. They had employees checking on everyone in the waiting areas, giving updates on wait times, etc. As soon as they got him back it wasn’t long before the Vet came out to explain everything, give a time, a price, what needed to happen, and I couldn’t believe how reasonable it was. They did everything sent us on our way with directions. And his wound healed so clean with no issues. It’s never a best case scenario going to an emergency vet, and this experience was. Will definitely take any of our animals there in the future.

Year's ago I gave these guys great reviews. I don't know what has happened to them in the last few years but now I have gone from relieved I live so close to an emergency vet to being afraid something will happen and they will be my only option. Fix your problems guys! These are people's babies.
