Carly is a narcissist, does not know how to interact with people and treats dogs like animals with no feeling or thoughts. Was disgusted watching her handle dogs in training class, battering them to submission.

I can’t recommend Carly’s training enough! We were feeling helpless with our rescue dog who had serious resource guarding and other behavior issues. Now our friends say that he’s a whole different dog than the one they met a few months back. :) She is so knowledgeable and thorough with her lessons and we’ll be eternally grateful for everything she has taught us!

This is NOT a positive reinforcement training. If you want to ruin your relationship with your dog in order to have a completely submissive pet that fears you - this is the class for you! At the end of the class this week, Carly said all the dogs were allowed to run around and mingle. My dog is a small Shorkie that was being ruffed up by a bigger dog. My dog cried out for help from this larger dog. Carly said, leave the dogs alone their just playing. Didn't sound like play to me. After being yelled at, and squirted with the spray bottle from Carly. I said "we are done" here grabbed my dog to leave. Carly, is clearly a narcissist with no compassion for animals. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Carly and the team at High Drive are absolutely amazing. They worked with our young dog through board and train to address several behavioral issues that were very challenging for us. He emerged from this intensive program with these issues addressed and we are now enjoying him as the loving, playful and wonderful dog that he truly is. Carly is so thoughtful in her training approach and ensures that as human owners we understand how to communicate with our dog effectively to live a happy and healthy life together. We are forever grateful for High Drive and honestly don’t know what we would have done without this program.

I cannot recommend Carly and High Drive Dog training enough! We adopted a year old AmStaff Terrier from the Longmont Human Society. He had been surrendered for behavior reasons and because of his appearance had remained unadopted for several months. We took him home as he seemed like just a sweet energetic puppy, but after a while we started having problems. He was fighting with our older dog and snapping at our cat and my wife. Not to mention he was afraid of EVERYTHING on top of that. My wife was in tears after a couple of weeks and we did not want to take him back to waste away at the humane society. I found High Drive Dog Co after reading some reviews and signed up. Carly's approach was very direct and took some getting used to. She immediately let everyone the class know we were all doing it wrong! But, as she explained more, we all realized she was absolutely right. Her methods come directly from her unwavering love for the dogs she rescues and trains. Within a couple of classes we began to see an amazing change in our dog. The classes revolve around understanding how a dog's brain works. We also enrolled him on Carly's doggie daycare once a week for socialization. Our dog immediately began to settle down and get along the other animals and the resource guarding we were seeing before started to subside. He also went from pulling our arm off on a walk to knowing how to go without all the pulling. And best of all, he now has the confidence to not be afraid of noises, objects, and people. We could not be happier with the results and intend to continue training with High Drive and Carly. If you have a dog you love and want to see them stable, balanced and confident, GO SEE CARLY!

Carly and the team at High Drive are truly exceptional. My dog had a number of behavior problems and after spending a few weeks at Carly's board and train program, we saw exceptional results. Carly has dedicated herself to her craft and cares deeply about the dogs she interacts with. After the camp was over, she was extremely responsive and committed to our follow-up sessions and has always been available for advice when we need it. I was originally skeptical about paying for a program like this but now I can't imagine having gone anywhere else. Highly recommended, 5+ stars!

If you told me after my first class that I would be writing a five star review, I would have been extremely skeptical. Our dog Pepper is one of the sweetest dogs in the world but she had lots of "annoying" behaviors that we couldn't get under control despite trying other recommendations. We thought she didn't enjoy being around other dogs, she chased cats, she barked a little too much, and worst of all she snapped at children. We were doing everything we could to make Pepper happy based on what we knew and what we had read. When we met Carly, she explained that we were not helping Pepper in the long run and we were reinforcing her low confidence, anxious, and weird behaviors. I probably took this news worse than Pepper did. But as hard as it was for me personally, I saw the results that Carly produced, I saw how much she loved dogs and wanted the best for them, and I listened to what she said and gradually started implementing all of her recommendations. The change in Pepper is night and day. Everyone comments on what a wonderfully behaved dog we have, especially when she does things like "sit" on just one command. But most importantly, Pepper's world expanded. She goes out in public with us, she loves dog walks, she has dog friends, she actually LOVES cats and never chases them. The classes are going to be challenging because to fully succeed in them, you have to totally examine and question how you were doing things before. Anyone who has made real change knows that is not always a comfortable process. But the payoff is totally worth it - better than I could have ever expected for my dog and more than I asked for when I signed up. I highly recommend Carly and High Drive Dog Company.

Carly is a passionate and knowledgable trainer. I particularly like the play groups where you can get one on one feedback on how to be a better pet owner.

I took my 2 year old rescue lab to Carly after she was recommended to us by a neighbor. My dog has improved by leaps and bounds with Carly’s help. When he was first adopted he had a lot of behaviors and issues that needed to be worked with. After taking foundations and intermediate training at High Drive he is a completely different dog!

Can't say I recommend this company, I certainly would not recommend for puppies. The methods are detrimental to your bond with your dog. Force free training is scientifically shown to be more effective. Also don't care for the cold vibes …

Carly is the best of the best. Anybody who says otherwise is too quick to judge and not listen/has no patience to see how their relationship with their dog grows. She is NOT abusive and cares more about dogs than anybody I have ever met. She takes dogs minutes away from being killed after their humans have failed them just to give them another chance at life. Anybody who is upset she isn’t “positive reinforcement” should look up what the definition is, because most people have it wrong, showing another reason her training is important and people are quick to judge. Sadly when people don’t give her wonderful training a chance it’s the dogs who suffer

I have taken all of my dogs to carly and I can’t explain the progress we have made. I had a 2 year old borderline aggressive German Shepard that is now a well behaved dog who listens and never shows aggression. I also had a very low confident cattle dog that is know confident and happy. All of the reviews on here about “abusive trainer” are completely unfair. I feel that Carly and her team have literally changed my dogs lives for the better. Carly and her team are straight to the point and say it like it is. There’s no coddling here and I have found that very efficient and beneficial for my dogs. I highly suggest using this company whether it be a board and train, play groups, dog classes, or one on ones. Thanks again High drive!

I found the training to be mostly a good learning experience for me and my dog, although the methods employed at times seemed to be rather harsh. I am not in favor of yanking really forcefully on my puppy's leash while he is wearing a prong collar as Karly did to him one day. One problem with Karly is her rudeness. I certainly did not go to these classes to make friends with her, but I also do not appreciate being interrupted, ignored, or spoken to in the manner in which she speaks to people. And, I believe her attitude towards me changed in a negative sense after I told her I was not interested in bringing my puppy to her daycare ($35/day) in addition to classes ($266). Which brings me to the really big problem I have with this company. It is that I was misled. I was told to bring my puppy to daycare in order for him "to be evaluated to see which playgroup he would fit into." I took him once and reluctantly left him for the day after being told I could not see the facility (different location than the classes). I was very tersely told by Karly, "I don't do tours." I have never in my life left any of my dogs anywhere before without seeing what the facility looked like, whether it was a groomer or a veterinarian's office. But I did leave him because I really wanted to take him to a playgroup. When I picked him up I was told by the woman who brought him out that "he did great." That evening I received an email from Karly telling me he was not ready for a playgroup; additionally, that there were no "easy" playgroups going on because she was too busy with classes. And, that I would need to bring him "at least once a week for daycare" before he could go to a playgroup. I told her I would not be doing that and that the only reason I took him in the first place was so that he could go to a playgroup. I feel like this was a case of "Bait and Switch"! I spent my career in Sales Management and teaching Sales and Customer Service. Karly could do well to think about her customer service skills. The way she speaks to people should be first on the list. Second would be complete honesty about what they have to offer.

The negative reviews are unfair. Carly keeps it real about us dog owners terribly coddling and fostering needy and insecure behaviors in our dogs. Her methods are not negative. It's communication. Reward for desired response, a squirt with …

Training a puppy is a lot of work but can still include joy and compassion. I found neither of those things at High Drive. I don't know how the pet nor the owner can be expected to learn when the owner is being berated and too afraid to speak to ask questions. Their philosophy is to overwhelm shy dogs as opposed to what they refer to as coddling them. In trusting their technique I signed my puppy up for day care with them only to be called to pick up a traumatized pet a few hours later. Their trainers weren't even able to get him out of a kennel to join the daycare group and didn't communicate with me about what had happened until very late in the evening. Their methods were very wrong for my dog, very wrong for me. We have found success at another facility that teaches the same concepts with a different presentation, one that allows for patience, compassion, and joy.

Carly transformed our low confidence new puppy into a confident, playful pup in just 6 weeks. When we brought our new rescue Salem to his first training class two months ago we were shocked as he hid, shook, screamed in fear and snapped at other puppies during playtime. After having an older, easy, confident yellow lab for years we weren’t prepared and didn’t know what to do with a very scared new puppy acting this way. As someone that wants to dress their puppy in sweaters and hug them all day while telling them what a good boy they are, it was hard at first to swallow the pill that we were going to have to start treating our little fur nugget very differently than we had been. Carly is so knowledgeable and is able to perfectly articulate how a dog thinks and interprets what your behavior is telling them. Her methods WORK. We started bringing Salem to daycare once a week in addition to class so Carly and the team could really fix his fear based behaviors and it’s like we have a whole new dog. In just a few weeks Salem started being confident with strangers, stopped trying to hide from other dogs, is heeling off leash and played joyfully with all the other puppies in his last two classes. We are so beyond grateful for Carly and the High Drive Team and can’t give enough praise. Leave your defensiveness and opinions at the door and be prepared to do the work and you’ll have your dog behaving like the pup of your dreams if you follow her methods.

This review is in regard to the overnight boarding services offered by High Drive. I had a sudden death in my family and High Drive easily accommodated my need to board my dog without much advance notice at all. The boarding paperwork was comprehensive and informative. Catie communicated with me via email in a very responsive and friendly manner with lots of detail to answer my questions. I had to switch the scheduled time to pick my dog up and High Drive did not charge me extra and was very accommodating and kind to my needs in a high stress time. I was able to text the kennel line directly to rearrange the time of pick up. We are currently in training class 2/8 for our dog and the training was maintained while she was boarded and they staff the kennel for 2-5 more hours per day than other boarding facilities. The owner herself works at the kennel during the day and her staff members are skilled in her techniques. Thank you, High Drive!

We were excited to learn how to train our pup into a well behaved dog. Turns out- we learned not only how to train our dog but how to understand her language and how to communicate with her- her way. Carly's knowledge about dogs is incredible and helps in any way to make sure you connect with your dog.

Our 2 year old pup came home after board and train yesterday, and it was a total transformation! Carly provided a great review of his stay, and education on how we can continue her work so he does not revert to his unruly ways. He used to pull on the leash, run away when he had the chance, barked at any stranger, and overall did not follow commands. The reason we brought him to High Drive was because he had bitten our other dog over a food altercation, who almost lost his eye. This was a great investment for our dog and we are excited to continue his follow-up classes and play groups!

I was hesitant to take my 8 pound (who would grow up to be 12.5 pounds) puppy to obedience class. She was so cute she could have gotten away with anything! So that's why I took her. Turns out she had low confidence. Carly gave me the tools to teach my dog to think for herself and problem solve. Carly shared the tools that work to make me and my dog happy campers. She is dedicated to the fullest and I know that behind her is a competent and caring staff just as she is. Thank you so much for helping me discover that no matter what dog I end up with in this life, all will turn out well because of Carly's obedience class. It feels wonderful to have the tools to help my dog be the best she can be. Happy dog, happy me.
