I truly can't say enough about this organization. Everyone deeply cares for the animals they have at their facility and they work so hard to make certain all creatures have a home and someone to love them. You're all Angels!

This is not a rescue, it is a brokerage for puppy mills and backyard breeders. They have a cooperative partnership with small town shelters that take the "leftovers" from puppy mills and backyard breeders, allowing them to continue the practice. They buy these puppies and then sell them as "rescued." They have NO transparency and do not communicate well with interested parties. They are VERY difficult to get ahold of and do not return calls. They do not provide any information on the puppies and do not take owner surrendered dogs. THIS IS NOT A TRUE RESCUE!

haven’t gotten a pet from here, but looking at reviews and pictures this places seems super sketch. looks like the dogs are in tiny boxes with a small yard in the back of someone’s house. doesn’t seem right to me. the animals look so sad

Signing up to foster dogs through Life is better has been the best decision I’ve made. I began fostering in the beginning of the pandemic and have since worked with the rescue to line up my own foster to adopt and one other! Qualities you’re sure to find at this rescue are kindness, professionalism, organization, and efficiency. They are constantly getting new dogs coming in, so I encourage anyone to sign up for the program if you’re looking to adopt or temporarily foster. I’m looking forward to fostering another pup from them in 2021!????

Volunteered here for a little under a year. All of the staff and volunteers really go the extra mile to get all the animals to a good home

Don't use this place. If your application is rejected, they won't even tell you, much less why.

The ladies were very sweet and accommodating in letting us meet our potential fur baby. Thankfully the dog liked us too so we got to bring her home. Thank you ????.

This rescue is one of the best around. They take great care of all of their animals. All their dogs are in foster homes, so email or go to an event to meet one. Their staff and volunteers are all so kind and make sure their animals are going to great homes. All their animals would be at risk of being euthanized if they weren’t rescued. I’m so glad these people do what they do for the animals!!

Terrible experience with trying to adopt a kitten with Life Is Better. We found a little guy at Petsmart being adopted out by LIB, and we applied and were approved to take him. We asked petsmart to keep him on hold for us until next payday and they said they can do that, but we also had to check with LIB to make sure they were on the same page. We made MULTIPLE attempts to contact the rescue and the phones are never answered, and calls are never returned. We went in to petsmart to visit the cat today, only to be told that he was taken off hold and adopted today. We are extremely heartbroken and frustrated by this whole experience and the utter lack of communication on the rescues end. You would think they would want to return calls in a speedy manner for people looking to give animals a forever home, but apparently that's not the case.

Don’t trust our living situation in a house we’ve been in for 2 years, landlord ok with pets. But we have a 6 year old dog and since we don’t have a vet for a cat, they will not trust us that our dog is up to date on vaccines and non aggressive. Apparently a neutered male cat and neutered male dog will cause over population in animal shelters. Makes sense.

Wish google would of shared that this place is not open to the public and needs an appointment before looking at animals.

Well I adopted the love of my life here, what more to say? They truly care about the pets in their care and do anything to make sure they are safe and loved.

Both Brigitte and Georgia were completely unhelpful when I was trying to get in touch with this rescue about a dog they were fostering. Brigitte responded to a couple of my emails, said she’s too busy to speak to me on the phone, and then stopped returning my emails altogether. Georgia never replied at all. In addition, the dog in question was 10 years old according to the tooth analysis done by the Denver Animal shelter and Life is Better is lying to potential adopters, saying he is 6-8 years old. I wouldn’t adopt from them...

Life is Better sets up at the Old South Pearl Street Farmer's Market once a month. In the summer of 2017 we went in search of fresh produce and left with a puppy. Even though it was a surprise we made the best decision of our lives that day. We adopted Mocha, a little 12 week old heeler mix from a pile of her remaining siblings and renamed her Chai. Life Is Better adopted to us a happy, healthy puppy and they made the situation enjoyable. Chai and I always stop at the booth at the farmer's market to say hello .
