I have had to take my animals to the VEC more times than I care to admit, however each time we have been met with kindness, compassion, and exemplary care. Their prices are extremely reasonable (especially for emergency care in the middle of the night), and hardly more expensive than an urgent visit at a regular doctor. Their wait times have been minimal every time we have been there, which is mind blowing to me considering the volume of patients they see every night, I’ve never seen their parking lot NOT full. My pets are like children to me, and although I understand that it can be stressful to not be allowed in the building with your pet, they make it very easy to hand them over to a kind, caring, and competent staff member. I’m not even able to put into words how thankful I am to them for the care we’ve received over the years!

We brought our angel 10 month old puppy here when we were on a trip in Aspen for Thanksgiving. We drove two and a half hours at 10pm at night. And it cost my puppy her life. I still regret to this day and I wish I could sue them. I brought her in with neurological symptoms and advised them that she does bite. They seemed to be terrified of that and were not AT ALL equipped. The vet said on the phone to me that she was positive for THC faintly and she was high probably or got into something. I explained that she leaves a trail if so, but she didn't care. SHE NEVER TOLD ME IT WAS A FAINT NEGATIVE..... AND THAT THOSE TESTS ARE NOT AT ALL ACCURATE. THEY DIDNT EVEN RUN A BLOOD PANEL ON HER!!! All she said was she's high. And the biggest mistake was I agreed to her suggestion of putting subcutaneous fluids in her. It ended up killing her. They most likely had a contaminated needle or bag or made a horrible misdiagnoses of her being high which she wasn't. As a good EMERGENCY VET you always run a blood panel. I am not sure why I did not push for it. Over the next 24 hours she got so so so so so so much worse. She couldn't move and wherever her fluids were hurt her so bad. We took her to a vet in the valley once they opened and she was SEPTIC. They ended up shaving her and noticed a huge huge infected skin all over her abdomen and the shoulder area where her fluids had traveled to!! THEN WE DROVE TO DENVER TO WHEAT RIDGE AND THEY COULDN'T SAVE HER. She fought for 10 days. They diagnosed her with necrotizing fasciitis and said it would be a really bad malpractice if these vets had not sterilized the needle. DO NOT COME HERE AWFUL. I will call them to figure out who this vet doctor is that needs her licensed revoked.

Words can't express how grateful I am for the vets and nurses/vet techs at Grand Valley Veterinary Emergency. They saved my precious baby from a pulmonary edema. They gave me more time with him, time I plan on using wisely. I plan to be more grateful in 2022. Grateful for the beautifu, kind people that are still out there (such as the staff here) helping others and sacrificing their holidays etc to heal and give others a second chance.

Me& my aunt were very cautious about taking her 14 year old chihuahua to them because of all the hateful reviews on here, so much so that we waited a good 2 or more hours then I said it can’t hurt to try. We called they were very lovely over the phone, came out to grab coco almost immediately got her back right away and came out to the car less than 5 minutes later & told her she was on oxygen and needed to get testing done and told the prices and made sure it was okay to continue with treatment, called and explained she had congestive heart failure and that treatment wasn’t a guarantee fix, at best we would probably be back in the same spot 6 months later and that her life would be filled with suffering with medication and being hospitalized so my aunt and uncle made the righteous decision to have her put down because her hear my was huge and she’s lungs were filled with fluid to the point she was leaking the fluid out her nose. They allowed us to be with her when they did the euthanizing and explained every step from the moment the doctor walked in the door, with allowing us to spend a good 20 minutes with her before and told us to take as much time as needed with her both before and after they gave her the medicine. For all you that read these reviews and say I don’t want to go because of the bad reviews let me tell you that’s wrong they were the most compassionate &genuine vets I have ever met. The one bet tech Sierra came into our room with coco and she was crying, she knew that it was hard on us and apologized a few times and they sent my aunt and uncle a card in the mail today and they were simply amazing

10/10 would recommend! It is scary enough when your pet is not feeling well but even worse thinking you have nowhere to take them. The staff and doctors were amazing ! They even called the next day to check on Dixie!

I had to bring my 14 year Chihuahua in for difficultly breathing. I felt that the staff at the emergency vet clinic were very helpful and clear on prices. They were honest about my dog’s condition and when unfortunately I decided to have my beloved pet euthanized so that she wouldn’t suffer from congestive heart failure they were compassionate and understanding as we said our goodbyes to a member of our family. This is a great place for pet emergencies and highly recommend.

I took my dog in because he got bit by another dog. They had him in a kennel for 2 hours alone and would let me inside or him outside during that time....it's been 3 days and I have yet to recieve after care instructions and they won't answer any if my questions. They keep telling me it's on my after care instructions. I have called everyday to get them and even asked if they could just print them out and I'll come get by them and they won't do it. I have to take these people to court to get the 700 dollars back but I can't even get proof I took my dog to the vet.

My experience with this clinic was nothing but pleasant and wonderful. I took in my little fur baby that had severe dog bites and bruises as she was attacked by two big dogs. She received the best care possible by Dr. Bebe. She was well taken care of at all times and I was informed of every step in her care. There were no hidden fees at all. I was told upfront the range in cost depending on what needed to be done for her at the time. It can be costly as it is after all an emergency clinic, so it is to be expected. I also want to add that the staff are very friendly. Thank you for all of your help with Juliette.

I have had to use their services for 2 of my animals & I appreciated them both times. The first time was Christmas Eve of 2020. Sadly, my dog passed away at my home & they were able to take him so he could be cremate (middle of the night). It was our first pet death in our adult lives, so it was pretty rough. They were very caring & understand and SO KIND. The second was about a month ago. My dog couldn’t breathe in the middle of the night. I love all of my animals & felt I should take him right away. They managed to find the problem & told me pricing PRIOR to doing what they needed to do & they were super thorough & again KIND. They also tried to keep the cost down. This is an EMERGENCY VET place. EMERGENCIES are always expensive, but they are there to help. I will continue to take my pets there if anything else were to ever come up.

The check in process was duplicative and annoying and I feel like the wait times were due to inefficiencies with the staff and registration process rather than actual quality of care. But... this facility doesn't exist to provide holistic good care to your pet, it exists to keep your pet alive until you can see your regular vet. I wouldn't discount the quality of veterinarians here though, the vet I worked with gave me a suggestion with my cat's food that probably saved her life. Before you write a nasty review, keep in mind that EVERYONE got a new pet during the pandemic and veterinary services services are in extremely high demand right now and everyone is struggling, don't be a jerk.

I took my puppy there early this morning for kennel cough. I wasn't allowed to go in with him, so here comes this stranger to take him he is sick and scared and now you want a muzzle him. The actual Vet was kind when she called about him, have him something for the cough and sent us home with some information, gave advice on taking temperature under the arm and adding 2 degrees. Well needless to say he is at 104.3 now and when I called them tonight the receptionist or whatever she was, was just rude and nasty and basically said the vets advice was wrong. My puppy is very sick I don't care what her personal opinion is I want to know at what point do I need to worried and rushing him back.

Every experience I've had here has not been great. The first time they gave my cat a different medication than what was on the bill for $300. It took another $300 visit to try to get the right medication and was told no because they acted the same but one was a dropper while the other was an ointment. These were also both 3+ hours visits for an eye exam. They have also ignored my mother in law's wishes for her cat even though she has a medical background for humans and animals teaching at a university and practicing in a hospital. So she's got a good idea on what she's talking about for procedures, but couldn't perform the procedures for her cat herself. It was a struggle for her to even receive her cat back after the end of procedures and payment.

Were extremely helpful over the phone checking all of my dogs symptoms, even checked with the veterenian to ensure that I was taking the proper steps but also making sure that I didn't drive in from Moab unnecessarily. I followed their instructions and everything seems great with the pup, no visit necessary. I did not visit but appreciate their kindness and willingness to help!

They were quite kind and attentive when we had to put our doggie down. I was reluctant to so, but the staff and Dr. BeeBee were wonderful. They made a difficult day as best as it could be. Thank you!

The bad reviews on here bumm me out... emergency vets are supposed to be more expensive that's why they are emergency vet's and open late hours. I didn't find their prices outrageous at all. People only tend to leave reviews when they have bad experiences so want to share mine. I appreciate this place so much they treated my fur baby and I so good and seemed to really care. Especially Camie. Highly recommend this place and appreciate all of them. Thank you so much!

This place is awesome, I am extremely thankful for them to say the least. These are the places that deserve huge community support. I had a bad experience with my local vet in glenwood springs, (Glenwood Veterinary Clinic) which is why my puppy ended up in the ER. My local vet didn’t know my puppy had bones, yet they charged me $400, and cleared us out saying my puppy was fine. The only good advice they gave me was if my puppy continued to vomit, go to a ER. After I got no help from my local vet, and my puppy still vomiting, I was already scared. But from the moment I walked into this facility, I was treated with utmost respect. The technician that greeted us listened to me and was amazing as was the rest of the staff. After my puppy was hospitalized for 8 hrs, they followed up with us the next day, and my puppy is now back to eating and sleeping. They were very clear about everything, they never beat around the bush. Do not hesitate to come here.

TRUST THE POOR REVIEWS ON HERE. I would give zero stars if I could. I came from an hour away, called prior multiple times to assure there was no wait as my dog was in critical condition. I got there to be rudely told it would be 2-4 hours before my very sick dog would even be looked at. Along with the quotes changing every time we spoke. Was told 1 thing on the phone & the total opposite in person. The nurse could not have been any ruder to me when I explained my dog COULD NOT WAIT in a hot car in a nasty parking lot. I got home after receiving care elsewhere only to read the reviews on here. Wish I would have before. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This place cares more about money than your pet. I told them I don't have enough to pay for my dog's broken paw TONIGHT but I can make payments. They said "bring him in". At 11:30 PM, after bringing in my dog for an "examination", I was told that he will not be treated because I don't have the full amount TONIGHT!!! I just drove from Parachute to GJ just to find out that I must drive my dog's BROKEN PAW home, untreated, because the ONLY pet hospital in 200 miles won't take payments.

Horrible emergency care after hours care we brought a dog in with a gun shot wound our neighbor shot our dog we were told several different dollar amount $1600 or $6500 was the options and anything in between could’ve ranged around that bracket of money. We were trying to ask several different technicians several doctors if we should euthanize her if the surgery was the only option we were lied to we were deceived we were told so many options for money money money that’s all this Veterinarian cares about! They do not care about animals they do not care about the best interest of the animals life the quality of life nothing! All they care about is money!!! Unfortunately they are the only emergency care vet in the whole valley and they know this! We brought a gun shot wound dog into a clinic at the minute we told him we could not afford to $6500 surgery they should have advised us to euthanize due to the suffering and sepsis of the dogs intestines leaking into her body poisoning her! This was told to us after we paid $549 fir care that was NOT given by the doctor and every technician that ran out to relay messages had nothing to do with anything with the dogs care except for money money money more money days now we have a $300 estimate now your estimate is $900 now your estimate is $1600 now your estimate is $6500 because I didn’t even realize the dogs exit wound the bullet was just chilling in her skin which bumped up yesterday as well!!!! Whatever you do keep your animals at their NORMAL VETS!!

We had taken our 10 year old border collie in last night when she suddenly fell ill, they were fast to get X rays done and kept us updated. We had to put her down due to large amounts of cancer in her lungs and they were so sweet and made sure we had everything she needed taken care of. This isn’t the first time we have used them and we will definitely go back if needed, some of the best staff care I’ve seen at midnight in both situations.

Our puppy became pretty ill late at night, his stomach was extremely bloated and he was retching, and very agitated. After googling symptoms, we realized it could potentially be a serious condition, GDV. We promptly began looking for a vet hospital. We were vacationing from out of town and found this emergency clinic. We brought him in at 11:00 at night, all staff was extremely friendly and he was promptly taken care of. He had eaten whole: a very large part of his stuffy toy. Dr. Rivera was very communicative, and gave several treatment options, and recommended what course of action to take. I’m very pleased with their service, and how well they took care of our puppy. Thank you SO much for all you did for Luffy that night, we are grateful to you.

Would give 0 stars if I could. My dad took my sisters dog in for an emergency visit. They took the dog inside after my dad filled out the paperwork in his car. About half an hour later they brought the dog back out saying they needed the room he was in and to just wait in the car. After about 45 minutes, they still hadn't came back out so my dad left, and about 10 minutes later they finally called him and he went to take the dog back. They took the dog in, said the x-rays would be about $200, my dad agreeded to the pricing, they took x rays, and about 45 minutes later the doctor called my dad to let him know what was going on, but said another person would call him back with pricing and options available for treatment. After another 15 minutes, a gal called my dad and let him know low end pricing ~400 and max would be ~500. We elected to go with the low end since we were following up with our regular vet anyways. She didn't take payment info tho. About 15 minutes later, a different gal called to take payment information and after running the payment informed my dad that she ran it for almost $700!! My dad asked what changed in the pricing from the last call he had gotten from them and she just kept ignoring the question and processed the payment anyways. When they finally brought the dog back out another 15 minutes later, my dad again tried to ask them about the vast difference in pricing between what they had originally quoted and he had agreed to and then what they had actually run the card for. She admitted to him that the gal who originally called him was new and made the mistake, but handed him the meds and a $700 bill. Normally when people admit their mistakes, they take responsibility for it. We are extremely displeased with the level of service we received at this clinic and would not recommend it to anyone else. Stay far away!

My dog Stella has a love for socks. However, they do not love her back. She got a rather large sock stuck in her intestines. It was a Sunday and she was very sick and wouldn't have made it through the night if VEC wouldn't have done the surgery that day to remove it. The vets and staff at VEC were kind, considerate, knowledgeable and commutative. Although pricey, they made sure to communicate all cost up front. When it comes to emergency services, no matter what the issue. There will always be more of an expense. I would recommend VEC to anyone that is in an emergency situation with their fur babies.
