Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies does an amazing job of caring for some of the best dogs you could ever hope to adopt. Each we've adopted has proven to be a genuine treasure.

We adopted a dog from these guys just a couple months ago. One of our dogs had died, and we had to do a dog meet with our existing dog who is 9 yrs old, and does not always take to other dogs. They handled everything beautifully and very professionally. This is a rare rescue that seems to understand how to manage things properly, and strikes the right balance between ensuring the adopted dog will fit in with a family while not being over the top controlling/unable to let go. The gentleman that was working to take care of the dogs - feeding, walking, cleaning, etc - even saw that we were adopting her, and made sure to give us her favorite toy - a vampire squeaky. lol It was a very sweet thing for him to do, and it definitely was a comfort for her, and helped her through the adjustment. Thank you guys for being so caring, and so professional. It was very much noted and appreciated, especially after a variety of not so great experiences with different rescues. Highly recommend.

We’ve adopted two dogs from here and are very pleased with our experience. Our first was special needs and he was the sweetest boy ever. Our second is now 5-years-old and such a blessing. I believe these dogs are more of a blessing to us than we are to them. I understand that there are unforeseen circumstances but It makes me sick that people get puppies for gifts, because they’re “so cute,” only to be unwilling to provide the proper care and training. They are NOT toys you get rid of when they get too old. I refuse to pay someone who uses their dog as a moneymaker. This rescue is fair and their fees are necessary to cover the cost of everything they provide for creatures that humans have let down.

Called to learn about available dogs, lady was really short and rude.

Insanely rude woman on the phone. Wouldn’t adopt here even if it was free because of her. Not sure why you treat people like that when they’re trying to give a dog a loving home. Sucks for your dogs. Response : I’m sure they “don’t recall” being rude to a caller. Why would they? It was definitely you guys. Fix it.

I can't say enough great things about this organization. They do an amazing job caring for the pups. We have adopted three of our goldens from GRRR and couldn't be happier. The dogs are all vet checked and chipped before going to their new forever home. The pups are also walked by all of the volunteers multiple times a day. Everyone at GRRR is GRRReat and really care about the pups! Thank you for all you do!!

I have adopted two Golden Retrievers from Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies. In addition to having the best name around for a rescue organization (GRRR) the dogs here are very well taken care of and matched very carefully with just the perfect family.

We adopted a 10 year year old female Golder Retriever named Dixey Kup who is now sister to our seven year old Englishcream Golden Retriever named Kooper. We were so happy to visit and meet the pups and the volunteers. It was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this organization if you are looking to give a Golden Retriever a forever home.

I'll start by saying we didn't actually adopt from here but did go through the process. The process took 22 days to get through; we work from home, own our house, have a yard and are an active young couple not sure why it takes so long. We became very interested in the puppies that were posted on their website. When we finally got to the "matching" process they said the dogs posted online (3 days prior) had been adopted over 12 days ago. They really should keep that more up to date. We had two new liters to choose from and we chose against them. I understand why the business is trying to take their time and ensure all puppies go to a good home but when we finally got to that part of the process they expected us to take any available dog. I would encourage the business to keep their website more updated, encourage or provide their team members for info and pictures about the dogs and maybe consider a new approach in the house visit or interview piece. However, every person we spoke to was very pleasant and I would definitely consider adopting in the future!

We adopted a 7 month old Golden from GRRR in 2003. She passed a month before her 14th birthday, but we were blessed with her golden love for 13 years. Thanks to them, these special dogs are able to receive treatment and not be thrown away like garbage. They do WONDERFUL WORK!!!

Was just contacted by one of there members who was trying to get a puppy I was rehoming for very cheap. They pick up free or cheap dogs/puppies and then sell them for a nice profit claiming to have "rescued" the dog/puppy. Puppy mill/flipping in disguise right here folks!

I have applied for a dog here along with 3 of my friends. We are all medical professionals and 2 of us never heard back, the other was denied for living in a townhouse (even though she now walks her dog 2-3x a day). She had to get a puppy because of not having a fence. I don't know why I never heard back. We have never given a dog away and they have all died of very old age. I don't get it. They have a lot of money and are extremely picky. It's concerning. By the way, this is my daughters name at the top. She was just looking for me. She's not the one who did the review, I did.
