We love the VCA team! We have a total of 3 dogs which have been seen at the hospital over 5+ years. The care has run from routine vaccines, yearly check-ups and dental cleanings, to helping our older dog cross the rainbow bridge early in …

My dog had an allergic reaction to something she ate or a bee sting, her face and body broke out in hives. I took her in, unannounced, on a Saturday and we were met by a very caring team. Dr. Danielle Wantuck was amazing, thoughtful, and professional. I would highly recommend taking your pet to VCA Wingate for any needs, especially emergencies.

The communication in this clinic is poor and the corporate policy for VCA currently is to to push vaccines on pets to make more money. (The franchise is owned by a candy bar company, so that isn't too surprising.) I became extremely frustrated with the staff after multiple communications back and forth only to have one veterinarian suggest that I didn't care about my dog because I was daring to get her vaccinated for something they previously said wasn't necessary and suddenly decided it was. Had the original recommendation been to just seek in-home care for the dog, that is what I would have done, but that would have been helpful information before I started trying to book some much-needed holiday travel. The clinic manager seems extremely preoccupied with the stress she feels and the stress of her staff without considering that all of us have experienced losses and made sacrifices during this time. We are all tired, and speaking for myself, I am just trying to do right for my pets while under quite a bit of stress. Yes, vets care for animals, but people take care of the animals, bring the animals in, and pay for their care, and compassion for and accountability to us is just as important. If someone doesn't feel this way, they need to be in something other than veterinary clinic management.

First time in today and thought the place seemed really clean and friendly as first impression right off the bat.

My dog (twice) had urgent medical issues on two different visits to Denver. Dr. Wantuck and the staff at VCA Wingate provided excellent vet care on very short notice. All of the staff were caring, professional and dedicated to the wellbeing of my pet. I very much appreciate their willingness to squeeze us into their schedule and provide my elderly pet with first class care.

Really great support staff, and honestly would love to put 4 stars for them. The real reason for 3 stars is that you cannot separate the staff from their pricing/billing. I don’t mind paying a little more for the peace of mind that my dogs are well cared for, but this example was too much. My dogs have both always been given excellent ratings on their dental health. I brush their teeth often, and provide plenty of dental chews between visits. My older dog has started showing some yellowing of the teeth and VCA recommended a cleaning. I agreed and was surprised to find they required blood work (to figure out how she would respond to anesthesia). When I asked why I could not continue using non-anesthesia based cleanings, I was informed that VCA would not recommend them and they would not perform one. I wasn’t told why they wouldn’t recommend non-anesthesia based cleaning when I pressed, but agreed to schedule it and asked for an estimate before hand. I asked 3-4 times for an estimate before getting the blood work done today with a price that shocked me back into focus. I asked AGAIN for an estimate of the cleaning and only today received one that I simply cannot afford at this time! I could have budgeted accordingly had my first request been fulfilled, and I would not be out of pocket for a blood test (which better be good for next year should I need to budget for a deeper cleaning). I truly love my dogs and will do just about anything for them, but when I am doing everything I can to support a business I like interacting with, why can’t you do your part and respond to my requests in a more timely fashion? Too many time people will rant/rage against businesses for doing what they are built to do (make money), but this isn’t what I want my review to be about. I just want better transparency and better service if I’m going to agree to pay large amounts of money for it.

I needed a veterinarian and was fortunate to get an appointment quickly with Dr. Grillo. She is wonderful and my cat is doing much better as a result of her care. The team here is all wonderful and kind as well! Definitely recommend.

The staff at VCA Wingate is the best! We had no idea when we adopted our dog 11 years ago that we would gain such an amazing family and team to help us care for our beloved Lazlo! Our dog went there for veterinary care, boarding, daycare and grooming throughout the 11 years we had him. With VCA Wingate's amazing care, our dog lived to be 18 and a half years old! When it came time to let our dog go, our friends at Wingate were there to hug us, cry with us and support us through the most difficult time in our lives. We cannot thank them enough for all that they have done for us.

Dr. Nacey and VCA Wingate took care of my kitty when she was very sick, and our regular vet wasn't helping so much. She squeezed us in the very same day that I called, took such good care of my cat, and then texted several times the next day to check in. I can't believe how caring and professional the whole office was. I wish I'd found her years ago but am so grateful to have her now! Their COVID procedures were also very good. We are very lucky to have VCA Wingate Animal Hospital in the neighborhood. THANK YOU! As you can see from the picture, Kitty is back to work!

We started seeing Dr. Grillo a few months ago, she was recommended by a friend and we are really impressed by the knowledge and level of service we receive every time. The front desk staff is amazing and everyone is not only nice and friendly, but they truly care about our dogs. They always follow up with calls to check on us and try to fit us in their schedule when we need it. Really happy to be a part of the VCA Wingate family.

I was desperate to get my pup in for a corneal laceration, and after calling at least 8 vet offices, no one had an appointment. Not wanting to go to the ER, I tried these guys and they squeezed us in, even though they didn't have any appointments available. Awesome customer service, fast appointent, and they were super sweet to my little guy!

Dr. Nacey was amazing with our dog Jax, she was very knowledgeable, kept us informed and also updated us with all of Jax's test results as soon as they can in. I am so happy that we found Dr. Nacey and cannot thank her enough for helping Jax during such a hard time! Thank you ♥️

Great vet! I'm very happy with the service my pup received here! We moved out of state and they still help me if I have questions about my husky. Thank you! ????????

I had originally rated them 4 stars. With their new policies around boarding I'm revising to 1 star. Do not take your pets here. All they care about is making more money off of your pets.

The staff is awesome at VCA Wingate, from the receptionists, to the vet assistants, to the three doctors. They're all very caring, and really involved in the well being of our pets. I have to drop of my dogs occasionally, either for grooming or one of my dogs for a procedure that needs to be done every few months, and I know I'm leaving them in good hands. Typically vets charge much more for prescriptions, both diet and pills; but, the prescription diet food and meds are reasonably priced at VCA Wingate. The cost of care can be a bit higher than other vets; but, it's convenient if you live close by and considering how awesome the staff is, it balances out. Overall, I'm happy to have VCA Wingate in the neighborhood.

Extremely overpriced and mediocre customer service. When we moved to Denver it was recommended so we went, but it has gone downhill in the past few years. Our last straw came a few weeks ago when we had an all-day event on a Sunday so needed to board our dogs. Dropped off late on Saturday and had to pick up first thing Monday morning because they are only open a few short hours in the afternoon on Sundays. The boarding cost us almost $200 for two dogs to share a kennel. That’s ridiculous! VCA should either have early morning drop off on Sunday or don’t charge for it as a day. It’s just a sneaky way mod making more money. We’re finding a local dog sitter to come to our house from now on.

Always a pleasure working with these folks. Time and time again, I've boarded my dog (who's a bit on the anxious side) with them and had no issues. Keep up the great service!

We’ve had generally positive experiences with the staff and veterinarians but will not be retiring to this practice in the future. The costs of care and treatment don’t match the quality of service. For example, we received a medication in April to help reduce itching and inflammation for our dog for $29. We requested a refill of the same exact medication (precisely the same quantity and dosage) and were informed that the cost of the medication jumped to $57 due to a “dispensing” fee. We will be seeking out other services with less subjective pricing for medications and treatment.

Disappointing. My cat, Simon, has a problem with one of his glands not expressing itself naturally. As a result I've had to start taking him in to get them expressed. I took him in to get it done, (it's very obvious when his glands are full, he meows in pain and licks his butt a lot) and the tech was not able to express them. This is the second time this happened here, with the tech insisting that the glands were empty and there was nothing to express. Fast forward 2 weeks and the poor cats glands ruptured, creating a massive open wound near his rectum. I called the vet and explained that I needed antibiotics because of the injury. I stated multiple times that I DID NOT want an exam, I DID NOT want another person sticking there finger in my cat, and I DID NOT want any unnecessary medications. Just the antibiotics and pain killers for my poor guy. The doctor decides she has to rinse out his anal glands, (not necessary, this is a recurring problem, we've tried this before, and it had no impact on recovery time, nor does it delay the problem coming back. It only causes the animal undue pain and stress) she then prescribes me a cream to put on the wound, but no pain killers. The cream did not speed up recovery, not by one day. It was entirely unnecessary. So I had to pay about a hundred bucks for the exam I didn't need, about fifty bucks for the cream that didn't help, and 30 for the antibiotics I needed because this practice doesn't properly train their techs. My pet suffered at their hands, and I left feeling like his needs went unmet. Instead, excessive prescribing and unnecessary procedures were done with the intent of getting as much money out of the customer as possible. Don't take your pets here. You will be gouged for money and your pet will receive substandard care. This is a disappointing example of how horrible a major for profit vet can treat you and your animals. I will never go here again.
