I have a reactive dog. He is reactive to people and other dogs. Going most places with him is stressful. He is a large dog and his reactions can be scary, hard to handle and anxiety provoking. It's not often we have a positive experience. But Vail Valley Animal Hospital and their staff were AMAZING! Even making the appointment was met with understanding to my explanation of his reactivity. They treated my dog like an old friend. Their vet tech, Lindsay, was the first person we encountered. She was understanding, compassionate, and had such great energy that my reactive, fearful dog went right up to her. She set the tone and it just continued to be outstanding from there. Dr. Thornton was also amazing. She came in, sat on the floor, and again, my dog went and tried to sit all 100 pounds of himself in her lap. It isn't often we have such a great experience anywhere. It isn't often that my dog doesn't react with lunging and barking. And it isn't often that I feel welcomed with my dog, understood and am met with empathy. I can't recommend Vail Valley Animal Hospital enough!

I have been bringing my two long haired dachshunds here for two years . The receptionist is so kind as are the Vet techs. The doctors are very professional and I feel that my dogs are getting the best care. One of my dogs had a bad bladder infection and Dr Meynier took a sterile urine sample and sent out cultures to make sure he had put Stevie on the correct antibiotic. He also called me a few days later to check on her. They really care about your animals.

These vets are caring and compassionate, and take good care of my pup. Even though they were booked, they found an appointment for us so we could get care before we left the valley for the season. Very thorough and professional.

When I did not receive adequate care for my dog at his original vet I reached out to Vail Valley Animal Hospital after hours to report my concerns of my dog's health. Dr. Thornton was quick to console and meet me right away. I am very grateful for her help and compassion she showed me during a very stressful moment.

Dr. Meynier and the entire staff at Vail Valley Animal Hospital go above and beyond to take care of your precious pets. Our dog has been struggling with kidney disease and they have ensured she is well taken care of. They have done everything in their power to help her and I am so grateful I brought her into this clinic. Their love for animals is obvious. They are patient, kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this clinic.

Thank you so much to the incredible team at Vail Valley Animal Hospital! My dog was hit by a car in our neighborhood in Edwards this morning. I am an ER veterinarian but my hospital is all the way in Denver, so I needed to get her in somewhere quickly. I called and they worked her right into their day, even though I'm sure they are slammed. When I got there, both Dr. Suplizio and Dr. Meynier came out to assess her. They stabilized her quickly and did all the same things I would've done if she were a patient of mine. When I came back to pick her up, she walked out the door with her tail wagging, happy on her pain meds. I drove her down to my hospital and did additional diagnostics. Luckily she didn't have any fractures, and aside from some scrapes and a pneumothorax that needed a quick chest tap she did well. It's always weird to be put on the other side of things when you're a vet and you need the help of another vet. This team was compassionate, efficient, and practices great medicine. They made a tough morning so much better for both my dog and me. I really appreciate everything you did for us!!

My poor pup Milo had blood in his stool recently. As a new fur-mom I panicked, but VVAH was able to see us on short notice. They are so caring and patient! Dr. Siltman explained everything thoroughly and sent us home with exactly what we needed to get Milo back on track. They called the next day to check in. Can't ask for anything more!

I cannot say enough good things about Vail Valley Animal Hospital Edwards. We are visiting from out of state and our pup got some sort of eye infection. We called VVAH and they got him in within a couple hours. They diagnosed the problem and provided the meds and we were on our way in under 30 minutes. These folks have combined great care for our pet with outstanding customer service. At every step they were friendly and took time to work with us. At no time did any of these nice people ever consider we were not local residents or treat us like anything short of long term friends. Thanks VVAH!!!

We recently visited Vail Valley Animal Hospital when our english bulldog got sick while on vacation in Avon. It was a Friday night at 8pm, so we were connected to the off-hours emergency line. Dr. Siltman answered, did a quick phone consult and recommended we meet him and the tech at the clinic. He stayed in close contact with us via text, and met us at the door upon arrival. They were so caring and responsive. They did a full exam and labs and let us know their recommendations for medication and diet. We were so impressed by their professionalism and compassion through the whole process, and as we left, they encouraged us to call or text them anytime for the remainder of our vacation if we had concerns. I would highly recommend them!

It was great! They came out to the car to get my dog which they took inside and totally cleaned his poor ear which had a really bad infection. Once they were done, they called my cell and I paid my bill over the phone with a credit card so it was a touch-less visit. They brought my dog back out and he jumped in the back off the car and off we went!

Getting a second opinion. Took my cat in for a sprain and they told me he had a heart murmur (she was ‘pretty’ sure) and would need a cardiologist to come in and that would cost me $600. Everything I read from other vet sites indicated that …

I use Castle Peak Veterinary and they contract with Vail Valley Animal Hospital for emergencies. I called Sunday morning, February 23 and made an appointment for my dog at 3:00. Upon my arrival the staff was waiting and ready. Dr. Silton and his assistant were calm, caring and efficient. Dr. Silton was clear and articulate. We chose to hydrate my dog and to continue testing with Castle Peak. By Sunday evening I had an email with the Hospital's notes. The only glitch was that by Monday morning, Castle Peak didn't have the same notes. That discrepancy may have been computer-related. I'm satisfied and highly recommend the Hospital.

We took our cat into VV Animal hospital when he wasn't keeping any food or water down for a couple days. They told us our "emergency appointment" was at 2:45 when we arrived they were running 30 minutes behind. After about 2.5 hours we called because we hadn't heard anything back about his status Dr Dietrich said she couldn't diagnose him without running multiple tests and to keep him over night adding up to be $2400 - we opted for the blood test and they put him on an iv (aprox $600) - the dr was a fast talker who wouldn't take her time to discuss what was going on. She wasn't very compassionate and said if we wanted to go somewhere less expensive to look at somewhere down in eagle. She also said she would follow up the next day to see how our cat was doing... we never got a call and ended up calling her to discuss his status. We ended up getting thru the weekend and are taking him for a second opinion down in Eagle. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VAIL VALLEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL TO ANYONE. They gouge you for money and have terrible service.

I believe it was due to the inexperience of the young vet that my 12 year old childhood dog died. He couldnt find a vein dropped my dog and couldnt get a tube down her throat. I believe a more experienced vet would have been able to save her.

In Vail from out of town and my Rottweiler got sick. They were so nice, took me last minute, and took great care of my dog. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I was very pleased with the way they were taking COVID precautions, and the doctor personally walked my dog out to talk to me after his exam. He also sent a full report of the diagnosis and medicine to my email within an hour. They followed up the next day with another call to make sure he was doing alright and if I had any questions. Excellent service and so grateful for them!

Dr. Meynier has always been a pleasure to work with for several of my pets since he moved to the valley 15 years ago - dog, hamster, guinea pig - you name it! I have found his utmost care, compassion and concern around the clock (even before he was 24hrs!) to be comforting and relieving. It’s priceless to have that trust available for both me and my pets!

Amazing staff and vet! We called while visiting from out of town when our cat fell ill. On a Sunday. After hours. In spite of all that we were met at the office and never made to feel as if we were a bother. Our kitty received great care and is back to 100%! Thank you all so much!
